I usually give refs the benefit of the doubt, but the holding call on Gilmore and no call on blatant PI on Watkins were inexcusable. - Fred Jackson is the heart and soul of this team. - Why continue to hand off to Spiller when it clearly isn't working? - I love Kyle Orton.

I'm curious how many of the Hackett scapegoaters have actually watched the all-22 for the majority of his games. I'm guessing not many. I'd also bet there's a high correlation between them and those who think the read option is a handoff up the middle.

There's a difference between a personal insult and giving an opinion of a trait that is pertinent to someone's ability to play football.

It's relative. Compared to the average Joe you are correct. But compared to the average NFL player is a different story. Compared to the average college player no one in the NFL sucks at football.

No offense, I think you're generally a pretty reasonable person, but you do tend to come off like you think you're above it all.

This is why I wish there were some intermediate step where rather than blocking a user's post I could just put a symbol next to his name to signify that he's an idiot so if I come across further mind numbing posts I won't feel compelled to address them. At least he knows what he needs to change. If he can come back looser and more aggressive he may be halfway decent. He's just trying way too hard right now. He's playing 1. not to get hurt, and 2. not to lose, and you're not going to be successful that way. He's a big guy with a big arm and dude's got wheels. It can be a dangerous combination if he learns how to use it. I doubt he'll ever have pinpoint accuracy, but I do think part of his accuracy issues come from aiming his passes. Plus, dealing with adversity like this will likely help build the kind of character needed to lead men. If he earns the job back rather than having it handed to him he'll earn a lot of respect from his teammates.

You're predisposed to doing that which best perpetuates your genetic line. That's the underlying force that drives you. The satisfaction you derive from pretending your motivations are selfless and altruistic doesn't change that reality.

If he gets his head right, stops over thinking, and stops playing scared he should get another opportunity, or at least be able to make a nice living as a back up for years to come. That's a big if though.
