  1. Don't be cheap. If you look at the stats, QBs who make > $20m/yr are disproportionately more likely to make the playoffs. We should ink him to a 5 year deal for over $100m.
  2. Most of the dropped passes were on poorly thrown balls. That pass that bounced off Watkins hands probably should have been caught, but the pass was bad. It would have been a tough catch.
  3. It's a shame that what could be Fred's last shot at a winner is being wasted on the EJ Manuel experiment.
  4. EJ sucks hard
  5. As far as long term answer, traditional pocket passer, or even for a full season I can see why he wouldn't be the choice, but as far as who is best equipped to help a team win a game I don't really see how anyone on this list is even close to Vick.
  6. Interesting how when the shooter is white and the victim is black every news story mentions the race of each. When the roles are reversed race becomes curiously irrelevant. Why is that?
  7. It sounds like your real beef with him is the drug policy. I agree on that to Whatever extent it was his doing, but I don't know how much of that was his proposal or that of his employer.
  8. I actually think all 4 are toss ups, but I'm with you - when in doubt, lean toward the positive.
  9. Ironically, the thing that got Goodell in trouble was giving Rice the stiffer penalty. If he'd just said the suspension was in line with the policy at the time, but they've changed the policy as a result (to a terrible policy, but I digress), and going forward they're going to handle these situations differently, this would have all blown over much quicker. Sure, the occasional blow hard like Olber Man would call for his head because faux outrage and extreme opinions is what they do, but the "fire Goodell" bull **** would never have gained much traction.
  10. The problem with the he got hurt excuse is that the injury was the result of poor decision making. It's like giving the QB credit because he was winning before he threw the game losing pick 6.
  11. Nigga, Nigga, Nigga, Nigga, Nigga, Nigga, Nigga, I'm 100% Nigga.
  12. Toby Keith - I Wanna Talk About Me:
  13. I thought you were talking about courics.
  14. That article is absolutely horrible. If logic were a woman that writer would be guilty of rape. I agree. But that's true of most stats.
  15. They are. But not all turnovers have equal impact as I explained. A pass on 3rd and 10 that's intercepted 40 yards down field has the same effect as a 5 yd completion +/- a few yards. A pick 6 in the red zone can be disastrous. But on a raw stat sheet and traditional QB rating they are treated exactly the same. QBR differentiates. That, in a nutshell, is why it's a vastly superior metric.
  16. Funny you say that. I was thinking his primary beef with QBR was that Manuel came out a few points behind Cousins and that if the roles were reversed he'd be making my argument.
  17. And a 13.9 is a much rating. What's your gripe?
  18. Not sure what the problem is. It weighs stats based on context. We tend to make waaay too much of the raw TD/INT ratio. Think of it this way: Is it worse to throw An INT 35 yds down field, or go 3 and out? Not much difference. Plus, when you throw one of those down 20 points late in the 4th it's just as inconsequential as a stat padding garbage time TD. Plus, it's not like 13.9 is even a halfway decent score, so what's the issue?
  19. Goodell didn't do what Ray Rice did.
  20. Pu$$y boy Phil Simms just censored himself from saying Redskins on TV. Guess he's afraid of getting kicked out of the pompous PC pu$$y club.
  21. Eh, it is relevant. If you've monitored a player's progress over 4 years you have a lot bigger sample size from which to evaluate his progress.
