  1. I may not consider it racism, but I think the average member of our society would. And whether it was your intent, That is how the claim you made will be interpreted. And in a society that's as sensitive toward racism as ours that's an accusation that should not be taken lightly. Think about it this way. What do you think would happen to any public figure who suggested he preferred a white QB (or to use your original statement, didn't like black QBs) because he relates better to people who look like him?
  2. I appreciate it. I'm feeling very vulnerable today.
  3. 1. I should have clarified that one better. It's not that no one had him as a 1st rounder, but he wasn't projected to be the first QB off the board by anyone I saw, yet we took him first. 5. He was good in that game and a couple others. I'm just saying he hasn't had a game where he took it over and put up the big numbers where the box score reader says "wow". Just to clarify, my purpose wasn't to argue that EJ sucks, but rather to illustrate that there are reasons other than race that would explain a lack of patience by the fans.
  4. What's the hang up with the post count? That's the second or third time you've mentioned it.
  5. Your points are not that thoughtful or nuanced. I was actually generous in my characterization of your argument. You threw out a flimsy premise and eliminated all other possibilities based on nothing. Then you try to compensate for your lacking argument with snark, which is fine I suppose, but you're not doing it well. The fact that Gregg took issue with your post is telling because this is an issue he's passionate about and on which we rarely agree. FWIW, at least you came back to state your case instead of that silly **** you were doing last night, so I'll give you credit for that. You should pop in at PPP occasionally. It will be good for developing your argument skills and provide some entertainment at the same time. Seriously.
  6. If you're going to respond you should do it in the other thread. Thanks in advance.
  7. Whatever dude. He played like **** and it was a stupid move regardless.
  8. I just took you to school in the other thread and I didn't even charge tuition. You should check it out.
  9. Which is really just a long winded version of what I summarized as I primarily want to address #3 of your manifesto. There are several reasons why criticism of EJ would be greater than that of Edwards & Losman (not that they are, but it would make sense) That have nothing to do with race. 1. He was a 1st rd pick that virtually no one projected as the 1st QB taken. 2. He looks stiff , hesitant, and robotic when he plays. 3. He is on a team that is stacked with talent. 4. It's been 14 years since we saw playoffs. 5. EJ has yet to have one stellar game where he came out and lit it up. 6. (*This is a big one*)THE FO WENT ALL IN ON HIM. With the others there was always the prospect of getting another QB next year, but we don't have a first going into his 3rd year and we didn't have any legit contingency plan in place. Meaning, If EJ sucks this very talented roster goes to waste. I could probably come up with more, but that should suffice for now. Next time maybe don't speak in absolutes. It may be a hot button issue for me, but I don't think many people appreciate whimsically cast unequivocal charges of racism based on a hunch. Side note: Interesting how many racists were pining for Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, and Geno Smith, but why let facts get in the way.
  10. I don't consider myself an EJ basher or hater, but I am a skeptic. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as long as he shows progress, & I expect the occasional bad game. But nothing makes me want to brew up a fresh pot of EJ sucks like others being scapegoated for his flaws.
  11. Sounds to me like you just hate white QBs.
  12. Ha! You should have really gone overboard and been a slob and kind of an !@#$. Like getting the wing sauce all over yourself, been loud and impatient (i.e. "Lady, let's make with those napkins, this staff's not going to wipe itself off"), and burp loudly in her general direction. She wouldn't know what to think. Odds are she'd just think "what a disgusting !@#$," but on the other hand, your chances of scoring with her would be exponentially higher than anyone else in that bar.
  13. He's a waste of time. He obviously doesn't want to get into it but has too much internet pride to walk back his statement.
  14. I prefer the one on the right to the one on the left, but I could probably find a perky blonde working at Hooters I'd take over both of them.
  15. Eh, I wouldn't kick her out of bed, but if we're comparing her to the most beautiful women on the planet she doesn't get a second look from me. To each his own I guess. I'd pave a private road to my bed for her, and kick my wife out.
  16. I've just been hoping you'd try to support your argument so I could take it head on and rip it to shreds, and in the process expose you as the weak-minded imbecile you are. Unfortunately you've already exposed yourself with your lame deflections. As much fun as that might have been, it's no fun punching someone in the back of the head while they're running away, so unless you have something substantive to debate I'll waste no more time with you. No doubt.
  17. Didn't think so. It's getting late, you should probably put on your EJ PJs and crawl into bed. Don't forget to take your ass with you when you go.
  18. I reread your post and broke down your argument. So (1) there's widespread outrage due to a paradigm shift at QB, and we're assured of this because you said so; (2) you think the criticisms of EJ are disproportionate to his play, and Therefore racism. What did I miss?
  19. Kind of like how you reached your racism conclusion.
  20. It's okay, I didn't expect you to have an argument. Race baiters seldom do.
  21. So because you disagree with the assessment others have made of his playing ability you default to racism as the go to explanation? Sounds like you see racism everywhere.
  22. I don't completely disagree, I just think it's overstated. I've been wishing for a big, physically imposing OG and a big bodied power back for years. But this is primarily the same crew that opened holes and set up screens pretty well for Gailey. Some of it may well be coaching, but a lot of it is due to the QB. Not to say he sucks or can't improve, but he has deficiencies in his game at the moment that create a lot of these problems. It just seems unfair for us to lay all the blame on others.
  23. I'm not impressed by stats. Besides, what's your theory, exactly? That our RBs suddenly suck and they're holding back Manwel?
  24. 1. Referring to one's cognitive ability is a way to take a shot at his intelligence without running afoul of TOS. No offense, but I'm always going to take a shot at race baiters. 2. It's not unusual to find excessive QB discussions on a message board dedicated to an NFL team with a young QB who has yet to establish himself. 3. There are always going to be people who feel all kinds of ways. That doesn't make it the overriding sentiment. Whether it was your intent, your post implied that the primary reason for the questioning and criticism of Manwel is racism. That's idiotic. You deserve to be called out for it. It's baseless, cowardly, and irresponsible. Worst of all, you didn't even support your position. You just threw it out there to preempt any counterargument.
  25. That year teams feared the pass (had to account for is probably more accurate than feared) due in part to Harvin who was killing it that year. The point is that if teams don't respect the pass you're going to have a bad time.
