  1. said it all off-season… his ability down the stretch was likely the gap between Super Bowl contender vs playoff contender. I don’t think that’s far off still. An added game wrecker off the edge makes the next 6 weeks much more manageable than it would be in his absence my only concern was duration at his age. It would’ve been nice to get a second contract guy instead of a third contract guy if going all in on someone
  2. it’s hard to do anything substantial in a normal week yet alone short ones coming off MNF. that the situational awareness and game flow improvement is all you could hope for and it did. He’s not reworking the playbook with the team at Wednesday practice
  3. it lets Rodgers be a distraction and buys some hope out of the roster. It’s more coachspeak than reality in my opinion
  4. he wasn’t up even in the celebrations recently though. Love or hate the low positive, his demeanor was a little less leashed yesterday- even if not as dramatic as some are portraying
  5. there was that one play where he was practically 15 yards past the qb and then stopped…. But the qb started dancing. I swear he was so far out of the play the qb forgot him and Von could’ve had the biggest blindside sack of his career if he hadn’t fully stopped. I would’ve worried for the qbs health with a guy getting a clean 10-15 yard run at his back totally unexpected unfortunately the way to get to who he was is to suffer a bit through what he is
  6. I’m trying not to confuse process with results, and be starstruck by the points but it did feel like the motion, personnel and formations were more purposeful pre snap leading to the “easy button” plays post snap there really weren’t the shotgun runs on and 1 situations or the outs to harty with time expiring. In fact they ran that little underneath sweep to him? Wasn’t a big gainer but again the type of play that feels like he was running a scheme and not a random collection of plays.
  7. It was nice to see him medium-high positive a few times today
  8. Obviously the turnovers were huge but he’s played solid all around. handful of guys have punched above their weight this year. Curious to see how everyone holds up against Philly more than anything.
  9. Von could’ve WRECKED him if he didn’t stop on the play
  10. more screens, more motion, the little underneath handoff… and 16 first half points against our kryptonite ill take it.
  11. They weren’t kicking a 64 yarder into the wind
  12. yea I really don’t get it. I guess lineup see coverage and if they don’t blow it completely he runs? seems like THAT is the meaningless punishment that should be avoided
  13. meh. I suspect going for it was better but going up 9 isn’t bad either.
  14. because not taking any shots also leaves you vulnerable to turnovers? Need to keep to playbook open to keep the defense honest
  15. Screens, motion…. If not for diggs I’d say the offense looks downright crisp. Will need to take a shot at some point but seems bordering on cohesive scheme instead of random plays
  16. Yea, singletary had productive games here. I’m not racing to pay the guy.
  17. big names this week too
  18. let’s not pretend our playbook is so exceptional that we are the only team that can’t generally plug and play backs. Sure he might not have 100% open to him but…
  19. frankly, you hand nearly any of those guys this squad and we are at worst a wild card team
  20. who wouldn’t love a guy that gets slightly above average results out of a squad that’s been elite for large portions of that
  21. we don’t know the scope but he’s publicly said he likes a balanced offense and didn’t seem particularly thrilled with dabolls final season based on comments the following camp we also know he’s had input into the offense based on recent interviews. how hard he interjects is a wild card that we can only speculate but we know he participates and we know his preference
  22. which is why he’s not truly the deep threat that the board once made him out to be but underneath he doesn’t have the agility/hands to be the possession guy hes unfortunately a tweener that is good enough to play in the league but doesn’t fill any role at a high enough level to truly keep a DC up at night figuring out how to contain him. You just tell your DB to not fall down, and you are generally safe. and even field awareness can be spotty. Sometimes you catch him running to weird spots when the play breaks down. he’s the fine enough at everything guy. He’s Singletary at running back, but a much more important position.
  23. meh. I think he’s well known throughout the league for being a live wire that has these types of takes. That he isn’t saying the stuff at press conferences doesn’t mean he’s not saying it to his guys, who talk.
  24. Ultimately, when he’s the host that is simultaneously extending drives every game with plays only he can make - I couldn’t care less about a few turnovers. when we are trying to grind out a slow game with long drives and he can’t run or uncork an amazing throw I like it a lot less. the thing was when he made *those* amazing plays it was almost like creating an extra possession - ie offsetting turnovers. Without that guy, it just hurts.
  25. 35% chance we never get the ball back vs much higher we get it back with a short throw is a consideration though.
