  1. if he said “I accept responsibility for… whatever caused the issue” it would be much stronger than “I accept responsibility for losing because I’m the head of the team and it’s all my responsibility”
  2. curious what his official lands at. The unofficial have missed bad a few times.
  3. seems like an awful fit for importing a team first culture like you would want from your old building… but what do I know, beane traded for KB
  4. Seems you understood the point I was making then
  5. he’s a work hard, play hard guy. Can’t hate a guy for having fun and enjoying the spoils of his very risky career as long as he’s willing to show up and take the job seriously too. Half the people hating gronk loved Ritchie for chrissake
  6. beasleys ypc: 8.5 gronks ypc: 14.6
  7. I’m trying to unpack the psychology of what it means if tre can, but you can’t We don’t but we have a few folks that are pretending it’d be more than just disagreeing on a target but actually upsetting
  8. not singling you out but for the anti gronk crowd… will you be judging beane for the move? mad at tre if he’s buried the hatchet fully? dusappointed in josh if he does 9 touchdown celebrations with him? turn your back to his super bowl float? or is it more of an “I don’t actually care but want to be as purebred Buffalo as possible” in the off-season?
  9. I enjoy your insights but this makes me think you may need a hobby if you considered the merits of Ford for Isabella unprompted
  10. And even if he’s just good, he will almost certainly get a qualifying contract to help our equation. send a 4 and get a 5-6 back after isn’t terrible. trading for expiring contracts isn’t a terrible way to stock the shelves short term. the board loves avoiding compensation but Signing a guy that counts against the calculation is not that different despite the board generally viewing it as much better
  11. its got to at least be the comp pick you get a year later when he walks then expiring contracts are friendly in creating comp picks to offset trade cost.
  12. that said, he shows up in august and hasn’t been in the organization all off-season, and his cap hit goes on the books and Tampa doesn’t have incentive to play hard ball either. It becomes a get something and move on situation. that said, he shows up in august and hasn’t been in the organization all off-season, and his cap hit goes on the books and Tampa doesn’t have incentive to play hard ball either. 13. it does bring question to mind: what would kyler fetch in a trade? if you can get an older franchise qb what are the balancing picks, for instance
  14. in three years they will have 65% roster churn like anyone else. The reason they won’t be great is Stafford will be gone. But if they have a ring, 2 appearances…
  15. Walter lives in his moms basement and is nothing special. tremaine is a good, not great, linebacker
  16. i think “giving up 10-20M” is a bit extreme in the framing. If beane wants him, he’d be able to easily offer more than 6 and slot this in as Kirk/Davis replacing beasley/sanders. If we are in on Kirk, we are north of 40 not sub 25 on a 4 year deal
  17. agreed. And agreed that’s not the market for him. Heck, you might be able to snag DE hunter, and WR Ridley for less than two 1sts if just shoving chips on the table for a fast run.
  18. put another way: if trading two firsts and giving a big contract, I think we could move the needle further than DK would by himself. he’s a great player but our offense with much lesser talents was pretty elite. A trade for a good corner and good pass rusher plus signing Kirk would likely do more with the “DK, Calais Campbell and Jackson” resources (2 firsts and practically 40m)
  19. soon owners will pay coaches better than an average starter on the team
  20. the Kick is 3rd place in the list of mess ups, but it’s a mess up The long return is less likely than a completion but takes more time… so even worst case is fine. I think the assumption would have to be he got an initial call, the call changed in the ST huddle and word wasn’t given to him. not that he whimsically went out with no call and took a guess
  21. I’m sorry about your family situation.
  22. This is not a man you want dating your sister
  23. as restrictions ease one has to forecast excitement around this team
  24. they gave the Saints whistle blower a job in the league office even if he didn’t make money off it, fixing sports games isn’t legal
