  1. Kromer is very smart in both coaching up the OL but also run game design in general. was quite happy with the hire
  2. Totally fair question. I didn’t follow the trial, and only know so much about his day to day or his states legal thresholds, if being honest.
  3. i don’t know that I’ve ever seen someone here ever earnestly argue murder is alright if a result of insanity. And I’ve seen people argue damn near every side of nearly every possible argument that could be had
  4. we have talked about it before too… there’s nothing to be gained by being the angriest guy on the board about a guy none of us know much about. if I can be the most pissed off at Justin bannon - and the quickest at that - it doesn’t get me anywhere but angry. If I can say the dude is a human, and was seemingly really going through some ***** it doesn’t let him go free - it just gets me in touch with some humanity, and contemplation about things like faith. there’s enough to be angry about without raging against this guy who had the world at his fingertips and somehow found himself huddled in the corner hiding from ghosts. That’s blues, not reds, for me.
  5. all fair, the new link I just shared talks about cte as a court defense, and the challenges of cte paired with drug use being a real challenge in front of a jury. honestly, don’t have the bandwidth to be a bannon expert researcher but it’s an interesting topic in the abstract of head injuries, emotional trauma of his best friend committing suicide and potential self medication with drugs. I won’t claim to have any idea how his puzzle pieces fit together other than there were likely some pieces missing or damaged and it caused a bunch of trauma to a bunch of folks.
  6. I missed this article leading up to the trial USA Today profile curious what the more detailed version would look like. What his day to day or week to week was. Very broad but… a lot more detail than the OP had.
  7. I don’t think anyone is saying give the guy a hug, apologize to him for his tough situation and let him go. but if we can agree to accept he was for whatever reason not in his good mind (may prove wrong as hes available to be evaluated but for a chat here let’s agree something is up and he’s not totally faking it)— do you think your loved ones are safer in 20 years with him locked up in prison 15 years and released or receiving some sort of comprehensive treatment program for whatever was going on and seeing where that goes over the long horizon?
  8. I mean, the guy was described as crouched in a corner hiding from the Russian mafia and shot the first person to open the door. whether drugs, some sort of schizophrenia, a traumatic brain injury, or combination thereof — seems the guy wasn’t all there when it happened. Doesn’t mean it’s ok, but as you boil down what’s going on, you may find a much more productive way for both Bannon and society figure out next steps from here instead of cookie cutter lock him up and toss out the key. im not sure who else is included in “we” but if you could share it would help me cross reference and update my list of people to judge.
  9. if he and his crew jumped a line guy including kicking and punching him dozens of times after he was already on the ground - that’s pushing past just a fight.
  10. to be fair, they might not have completed interviews with others, getting the video etc… until after his workday started. At that point, why not bring him in at the close of business in a less confrontational manner
  11. everyone knew his annual salary would be elite. The question will be how far guarantees stretch. Likely still pretty far but a starting qb doesn’t take less per year. The team just can escape sooner if there’s justifiable concerns on the resume
  12. also, great way to stop the run: score a lot, fast
  13. they could have a mini golf option too
  14. his point was if 30M comes off the books, whose cap hits are suddenly backfilling that from our existing roster in next years calculation. IE generally he expected to see $30m to play with but guys are instead just costing more
  15. I think speculation is the word you were looking for but I wouldn’t be shocked if they at least gave a heads up. I don’t think there was an ask of permission but I’d guess some sort of acknowledgment between tre and beane occurred (direct or indirect)
  16. I may have haphazardly stumbled into a conversation I was only halfway up to speed on… but was speaking in the general sense of had it been known, that would obviously be a messy moral spot. If daboll had no clue there would clearly be no way to remotely call him out in the process. The guy I was responding to had posted about “what was he supposed to do, divulge he knew to Flores” If he was an active participant I wouldn’t fault him but likewise know that good people wouldn’t be prideful about doing even if it is right for them and their family to make the huge jump at all cost
  17. it’s at best a messy moral situation right? I think we all know being part of a sham isn’t the right thing… but to receive a huge reward at the expense of someone else’s minor inconvenience due to a third parties rule? it’s hard to say I’d be mad at anyone about it but also not something I’d be particularly proud of if I did it myself either
  18. Seeing as we offered him a deal last year it seems like a real consideration. And tre may have blessed it.
  19. that was pretty low on the list of speculation I saw
  20. Ultimately, even if the giants were into daboll, the argument for the league for years is that their goal was to get more guys in the process - both for experience and for the possibility of surprising the team and changing their plans. Unless they had signatures from daboll - it’s possible he could’ve still ended up in Miami even. that said, Flores being frustrated with feeling like a token interview is also fair.
  21. hell, can you imagine those play calls getting relayed to an mlb that truly owned the defense? with the timeouts we called this defense 4 times and no one thought to make the case that they were protecting open field and leaving all prime areas to target wide open?
  22. I don’t know if his hat is in the ring but he’s been successful as a modern nfl schemer. I suspect he’s more interested in HC opportunities. I would be happy with him here.
  23. I haven’t personally seen his 23 and me but I don’t think so
  24. It cuts both ways- if an org fails a guy more than a year or two it gets hard for him to get the repetitions in practice to recover from a bad start. once you’ve picked up some bad habits it takes time and good reps to fix them and that’s one thing that young qbs don’t get a whole lot of once they are off track
