  1. Absolutely. I have been impressed that the O line is actually as good as it is considering the banter before the season started. But let's not fool ourselves, we can improve.
  2. Man I just can not get enough of this. What a game. Bill's fans everywhere are having a wonderful Monday thanks to a team that just does not give up. My hats off to all the players, Chan and Buddy. You guys have heart.
  3. Right after Merriman got to Brady his game went down hill. The Pat's are a good team. But we have shown we are too. The rematch will be interesting.
  4. O C Tavern, wearing my bills shirt proudly!~
  5. I call nonsense. Patriots are 8.5 point favorites with a 52 point over under. We are so beating that spread.
  6. Gailey will not not suffer players who do not perform long. (remember Trent from last year). I am happy to leave it in his hands.
  7. Isn't T.O. dealing with an injury as well?
  8. Brady does not walk on water. He is not perfect. Undoubtedly he has talent. The Bills will give them a game next weekend.
  9. The penalties racked up by both team, but especially the Raiders showed a lack of discipline during the game. Just silly stuff. It seemed there was a call almost every play.
  10. McGahee played well yesterday night? Lee Evens over the weekend? If you watched any of the games you would have seen otherwise. Not saying they are not good players or that they can not contribute but I think the Bills made some good long term decisions regarding the roster.
  11. CJ will improve as his blocks improve. He is Gailey's waterbug. You will see much more from him this season is my guess.
  12. Makes me homesick! Go Bills!!!
  13. It is a great site and one that allows me flashbacks to my home town of Buffalo. Many great memories. I will be cheering the Bills to the day I die and according to my wife a few years even after that.
  14. Great thread. Thanks!
  15. From Notre Dame, was a fourth round pick in 2010 by Dallas. I understand he played Left Tackle. He is 6'8" 300 plus pounds. I believe he played all 4 years at Notre Dame as an offensive tackle. Have to research that.
  16. It says he is an athlete... it's all about the $$$ to the NCAA. Not about players graduating.
  17. Well it is one man's opinion, but one I enjoy hearing. Thanks for posting!
  18. OK, based upon the present roster, who do you feel will not make the 53 man team but be signed to the practice squad. The rules for signing a player are below (courtesy of SB Nation). We are limited to 8 players. NFL Practice Squad Eligibility NFL teams will have the the option of placing 8 players on a practice only team. These players do not count towards the 53-man roster and are generally made up of college free agents and other borderline NFL players. Since 2004, the NFL has had an international player practice squad spot for rotating teams. It allowed one non-US or non-Canadian born player to take up a ninth practice squad spot. They didn't do it last year and we're unsure if it's happening again this year. To makes things easier to explain, players who are eligible for the practice squad: Have no prior Accrued Seasons in the NFL (An accrued season is six or more games on the active roster); Have one prior Accrued Season in which the player was on the 45-man active roster for no more than 8 games; and, Have been on the practice squad with a particular team no more than 2 prior seasons unless the team never had their active roster go below 53 players during the two years the player served on the practice squad. If that is the case, the player is eligible for a third practice squad season. This is where it gets a bit confusing. A player with an accrued NFL season (6 or more games) isn't eligible for the practice squad but a player who played in fewer than 9 games is still eligible? Yeah, it's a bit confusing. NFL Practice Squad Salary This is pretty straightforward. NFL practice squad players are paid $5,200 a week minimum but teams may choose to pay them more if they'd like. This doesn't usually happen. The players will also get small signing bonuses, usually in the area of a couple thousand bucks. NFL Practice Squad Rules There are some important things to know about practice squad players during the NFL regular season so I'm just going to list them: Practice squad players are always free agents, meaning any NFL team can sign them away from another team. The catch with this? A team can't sign a player one week before they play that team and the team that signs a practice squad player must count that player against their 53-man active roster for at least three weeks, bye weeks included. This is even if the player is released after one week - they still count as a spot on the roster. Players that are promoted internally from the practice squad to the active roster must remain there for three weeks and get paid the minimum salary for their status (rookie or veteran). If they are let go for some reason before the three weeks are up, they are still paid for those three full weeks.
  19. I assume you mean Qualcomm stadium where the Chargers play. It's a great stadium for any game and Tailgating. You can get there easy on the freeways and they also have train stations for the local trolleys. Here is a link to a seating chart. http://www.sandiego.gov/qualcomm/event/seating.shtml The Chargers are pressing for a new stadium. But when you go there you will wonder why. (I guess they want more private seating) Its laid out great with easy access.
  20. I am a big Jasper fan. I like his attitude, size and great athleticism. But even I have to admit he has some development to do. I say put him on the practice squad and counter offer when and if someone jumps on him. Look, all the teams have the same issues we do. They will look at Jasper's tape and see that he is a work in progress.
  21. This kind of surprised me since I thought he was giving Moorman a run for his money. He had a coaches honorable mention at the Pac 10 and had an 84 yard punt against Arizona last year. I guess there is not room on the roster for an extra punter......
  22. Merriman is talented. But his health has been a problem. It seems that something is always hurting, tight or tweeked. I am concerned about this reported "groin tightness". I remember him from his San Diego days. He was definitely a threat and presence. I hope he can remain healthy for the season.
  23. I agree. But it did seem to me that he did make progress from last year based upon his OT play. Good for him.
  24. My thought is a guy like Gurode could bring the younger ones up! He has the experience and skills that could be leveraged across the whole O line. Four straight pro-bowls and he is now 33. Last pro bowl 2010. We are not talking about a long term change here!
  25. You are a lucky guy! I can't help root for the guy.
