  1. I like the thought....It's works well with Parcells.
  2. I was happy with the LB's we had under Donahoe. Not Levy. Keep in mind we were so thin at LB's we had to start Scott. If we go to a 3-4 our lack of depth at LB will be magnified. Maybe FA is the answer but who knows what FA is going to be like.
  3. I'm in agreement. But we need so much. I would love to see McClain in a Bills uniform. We also need OT and DL help as well. This not an either or conversation. We need to walk away from this draft with 4 starters and we need to add 3 more via free agency. Anyone that has watched the Bills knows we need QB, OL, DL and LB's. Keep in mind a LB would really be needed if we go to a 3-4. Nix and Modrak have to deliver.
  4. The uniforms aren't bad. I wouldn't mind seeing some red trim around the collar. Don't touch the helmets. I think the helmets are some of the NFL best
  5. I would not offer a 2nd for McNabb. I would put TE and a 4th or maybe offer another player with a 4th. I love the idea of getting Chester Taylor but we should keep Lynch...no trades here. Whitner and a 4th...interesting but only if we sign George Wilson. I think George Wison is a must.
  6. I have done my share of Poz, Whitner and Kelsey bashing on this board. My real issue with these guys are they haven't lived up to the expectation that I expected. I thought Kelsey was rewarded hansomely for mediocrity but his play has not demonstrated anything beyond mediocrity. I would like to think I am an equal opportunity basher. Poz, we traded up, give up a draft pick to get him and gave up a solid leader player (Fletcher) for some one that was highly touted. He can not complete a whole season. Has not lived up to expectation not worth what we gave up for him. Whitner, like Poz has not lived up to expectation especially for an #8 pick. Does he suck, no but he is only mediocre on a good day. I don't fault Whitner for trying to be a leader saying we will make the playoffs. I could see through that when he did it. The problem is we have talent like Byrd and Wilson that have become more productive than Whitner. We now see impact plays at the safety position from people other than Whitner. Would I trade Whitner, Poz or Kelsey maybe..maybe not but I definitely feel that each position needs to be upgraded would not think twice about benching each one.
  7. What I find curious is that when most HC's are hired they have a good idea of who their coordinators will be. Some potential HC's will make calls before getting interviews to line up a potential staff. I am not sure how this reflects on Chan's level of preparedness. I would like to see people with pro experience on his staff. Not sure what Giff's experience is. Most coaches hire from top down when all positions are available. Are we putting the cart before the horse?
  8. Wouldn't that be the difference between good and average scouting teams. The good scouting teams would tend to have luck on there side more or maybe thay are just more skillful. Some teams tend to scout certain positions better as well. Baltimore and Pittsburgh through out the years have been great with mid round LB's but drafting QB's was an achilles heel.
  9. So it's everyones fault but Poz. When Poz over runs a play. Lets blame Mitchell. When Poz can't shed tackles lets blame our DT's. When he can't stop RB's on impact Boz style its the trainers fault. Now you are blaming a safety for our run defense??? Have you thought Byrd had to make tackles because Poz was out of position? Excuses, excuses...... Then you should be very satisfied with our existing defense. I would llike to see a mlb you have to make excuses for. Don't get me wrong when drafted I was all for Poz & Whitner. While they have made a few plays I feel they are part of a large mediocre group of players that we have settled for. Poz, Whitner, McCargo, Kelsey,McGahee, Parrish wasted high round draft picks.
  10. Nix has indicated that he is not big FA person . If that is the case we will need two very good drafts to be playoff/championship worthy.
  11. Reality check... Poz is not a very, very good player. He is a very, very, mediocre player. He played better in the latter part of the season but he was only mediocre at best and he is not very tough. Harris is a much better player. He reads the play better and he is a much harder hitter and he can shed blocks better. Poz may be better than Harris at checkers, soccer and parcheesi but Harris is a better football player.
  12. Let's not kidd ourselves he is one the primary reasons why we have the weakest LB corps. Don't miss the forest because of the trees .
  13. When you critique Poz some posters here are in denial and constantly make excuses for him. One of the reasons I'm hoping the Bills draft McClain is because the mlb is a huge liability on this team. Your stronger players can tend to shed blocks especially if you have good hands. When the DL is being blocked on run plays it's up to your LB's to fill the gaps but you have to have the instincts to know where the play is going. Poz isn't very good at this. I can't think of a time when I saw him shed a block or really hit someone. When your middle is tough your defense tends to take on the tough personality and the same when it is soft. In baseball terms, he is like a centerfielder that has problems catching the ball. The hope is in a 3-4 his zone will decrease and make him more effective. RB's tend to drag him extra yards after the point of impact. I'm not sure how to make him tougher. He so much reminds me of Brian Bosworth. Mitchell has the best instincts of any LB that we have but he isn't going to make the pro bowl any time soon. The real issue is talent, we need to look at replacing all of our LB's which may not be possible in one year but we should start moving in that direction. A switch to a 3-4 will be difficult with the personel that we have. We need an every down NT that can push the middle and DE's that that can provide the pressure. We just don't have the personel to do that.
  14. Agreed...Chan has already said he will be calling the plays. Modkins initially will be a figure head with on the job training. He has a solid collegiate record. Not sure how he is going to do against the AFC East but maybe we can get East Carolina on the schedule. Git em Chan
  15. I thought the draft was solid though I would not label anyone a freak. Wood was solid he has the potential to be a good guard but I think he will a better center potentially a pro bowler at the position. Levitre is a good utility man but he was often dominated. He should get better needs to be stronger but he has good feet and balance. Nelson will be better when we get a QB. He has the most receiving potential for a TE that we have had in while. It seems like the 1st round picks seems to be the most difficult for us. I was a little disappointed by the pick. Lets face it Nix and Gailey do not possess the ivy league accents as Levy and Jauron. Lets hope they get better results.
  16. I think we need to get much stronger here. I would like to transition Woods to Center. He would solve our problems there. I'm not a big fan of Hangartner. Too many teams get the big push up the middle on him. Levitre is ok. He proved to be a good utility man but was dominated many times. I cut him slack because he is a rookie but we need to get bigger and stronger here.
  17. I like Sproles he can make things happen. I like Chester Taylor more. He some what similar to Freddie Jackson, an all around player.
  18. Kyle Orton is the only one here I could go for. Reminds of TE but not afraid to throw the medium range pass...not sure if that is good or bad. Maybe Matt Moore.
  19. I like the idea of trading down to build a team. Parcells does a good job of that. I don't see the 49ers trading down. I like Cody in the middle but we still have a glaring weakness at mlb and olb. Though Poz made some picks at the end of last season he is a huge liability and doesn't possess the power needed to intimidate. I would like to see McClain in the middle. We need 2 LB's from the draft. Capers is a decent 2nd round choice. Realistically I think trading down may be more sensible with our 2nd round pick as opposed to our 1st or have more than one trade down.
  20. Rumor has it Gailey offered Ralph 2 million a year for the job. I know, I know.. a poor attempt at humor.
  21. What are the rules pertaining to FA this off season. Are they listed anywhere?
  22. McNeill and Edwards I would put as priority but who knows what will happen regarding the CBA. You may see very little FA movement because of it. Seymour has a few years left in him..Iwould clearly make the offer. McClain is a must...which means the Bills will draft anyone but McClain. Gerhart, I would pass, he will be available in the 3rd..to be honest I'm not really sold on Ingram either....I think J Best will be the RB of this draft.
