  1. The people I know that hunt they just simply blown the animals brains out...that's real humane You are stuck on the "how" as opposed to the "what". They are still killing. Spaying and neutering is just castration..sorry I didn't spell it out for you. As far as being a changed man you may be right, but I hope he is smarter from his experience. Many people do learn from their mistakes. I know I have and you probably have too. I always give the people the benefit of the doubt. I look at sports figures as being high paid entertainers and not in the same category as police, firefighters, and the military. Police, Firemen and military have a much more important position in society. This is not to defend what Vick did was okay because it wasn't and I surely do not think he is the sharpest knife in the drawer. But its about forgiveness after he has paid his debt.
  2. Interesting osbservation...I am located in VA and I have worked with Southern based companies and I have found all types of people with southern accents. Some are extremely intelligent and some are aren't. I have notice one thing, people with various accents are often poked fun at. When people poke fun at Al Davis' New York accent do you assume they are unintelligent...probably not. When you here people poke fun at the New England accent do you assume they are unintelligent....probably not. I do notice that people from the south tend to be more self conscious about it than others. One assumption that I made when watching the conference is that we have an "old boy" network at work here and I am not sure how a Leslie Frazier would have fit in no matter how good he is. When Marv Levy was GM he no doubt picked Dick Jauron based on the intellectually stimulating conversations they have had about books that Oprah's book of the month club have recommended. Both GM's brought in people that they could relate to on a personal level. I think this more than often can deter people from making the best decision. Lets not ignore the obvious but lets not assume the negative toward Nix and Gailey or the people that may poke fun at them. I'm obvious a Bills fan and will always be one and as Chan said winning will quiet the naysayers. I just hope they can take us to the playoffs and win the SB.
  3. Your argument is an argument for QB's....think Cornelius Bennett.
  4. Our biggest issue is a lack of talent as opposed to the scheme we are running. Going to a 3-4 will just be moving the problem around. Will Stroud or Williams be able to provide the push in the middle in a 3-4. Why do people assume you can move any of these guys to DE will make them better. Our LB's as a unit are one of the league worst. Will going to a 3-4 keep Poz from being run over by rb's or running himself out of the play? Will going to a 3-4 make our LB's hit harder and create more turn overs. Will the 3-4 make Ellison, Poz and Mitchell bigger, stronger, and meaner. We need a serious talent upgrade on our defensive front 7 or we are still going to suck. I like our secondary, not saying they couldn't use improving but this is the best unit on our team. If we don't upgrade our talent the scheme we run won't make a difference.
  5. Sure he should be in the league because he has paid his debt to society. 1. I know people that hunt. They basically kill for sport. I just don't believe the fact that they enjoy the taste of deer meat where they just have to have it. They do it because they enjoy killing. I put these people in the same category as Vick when it comes to the killing aspect of animals. 2. What about the lovely animals rights actvist that feels that spaying or neutering your pet is cool because it controls pet population, but want the death penalty for people that dog fight. If you had a choice to fight a big guy or be castrated which would you choose. I would fight the big guys myself. I guess they don't feel castration is torture...BS The problem was the gambling portion if his activities which he has paid the price for. I love animals but they are not people. I prioritze the crime against any man before crime against animals. If you don't like Vick thats fine, just don't hide under the guise of loving animals because until Fido and Rex start paying taxes they will not and should not be given the same rights as people. People are always searching for reasons to hate as opposed to searching for reason to forgive. Vick as a QB is better than what we have but I felt he needed to look the field better and try to become more of a pure passer. TE is to afraid to make the 20 yard pass. TE also can not play in bad weather as well. Fitz is the one to keep as a backup between the two. I would like for Brandon to use his market genious on TE to get us a 3rd or 4th rounder for him.
  6. The same point can be made by how much better Flutie played behind the same line as Johnson.
  7. Good points. Missing your gaps is basically your mlb responsibility. He is suppose to ensure that everyone is in the proper position based on the formation read. Once the play starts instincts should take over. In a 4-3 the mlb has more gap responsibility. Don't get me wrong the front seven plays a part in gap responsibility but this is a direct indictment of our mlb's. No matter how big or strong you are if you properly read the opposing offense your going to give up a lot of yards. Fewell and Poz are giving excuses for poor play that hopefully will not be tolerated with a new coach. Poz would be better coming off of the bench. I am hoping for McClain to be our pick for his ability to read plays as well as his hitting power and ability to get off of the block.
  8. I'm not sure why the Bills do the things that they do. I can't figure it out. Brian Billick might win games...Is that the direction we really want to go in. This is becoming down right halarious. All the potential HC picks the bloggers complained about were better picks. I'm afraid to see who we are going to draft. I'm actually concerned if Gailey will be able to live up to the excellence established by Modrak and Guy.
  9. "Blockin, Tacklin, Kickin, Throwin, and Catchin, that's what wins football games" - Chan Gailey. This thing is playing out like a really bad episode of "Hee Haw". What next Buck Owens / DC and Roy Clark / OC. There are reports that Cowher is somewhere laughing his ass off saying "I thought they knew I was joking when I mentioned Chan".
  10. Love the idea but more than often race is factored in decisions that people make. Perhaps Chan Gailey is the one to bring us all together otherwise I can't figure this potential hire out.
  11. When I first saw that Chan Gailey was being considered I thought someone was trying to be funny. Now I am stunned. This is so bad it's halarious. If this is true, what a move by Nix. I have past the point of anger where I can't stop laughing....Cam Cameron doesn't seem so bad now.
  12. Interesting point. I have a couple questions, 1 Do you think Wilson would hire a black HC? 2 How would this impact the fan base. 3 Do you think many fans would rather lose with a white HC than win with a black HC Thoughts....
  13. Newsome brought in Steve McNair for that very reason. It was Billick that was responsible for getting rid of Dilfer as well. Dilfer was not a HOF qb but he had a great chemistry with the offense. The kind you want when winning championships. Billick tried to fix something that wasn't broke. Dilfer has stated this publically. Billick has a reputation of having a large ego and being difficult to work with. Maybe the Bills would rather hire some one that doesn't have a reputation of being a butthead. No shame here. Just for grins ask people in DC how they feel about Norv.
  14. Do you think they would give there SB rings back for a chance to get Russ in the saddle? The people Pittsburgh that feel that way have very little intelligence.
  15. I think the issue is for a person so qualified why hasn't he gotten a head coach position yet. It's probably the same reason Tony Dungy had to interview so many times before he was hired...It's due to the color of his skin. Teams are still hesitant to hire a minority after years of proven success where the upstarts (ie. McDaniels, Mangini, Garrett, Schott) do not have to prove them selves over a 10 year period they only have to have one good season and they are hot. Now this is not always true (Mike Tomlin) there are exceptions. On a whole the road to head coaching is longer for minorities. The Rooney rule was created with good intentions but if an organization has no intention of hiring a minority it becomes an insincere step in the process. Who can really judge the sincerity of an organization. The Bills interviewing Frazier was not necessary to comply with the rule since Fewell interviewed prior. My gut tells me Frazier will be an excellent coach because of his pro experience and the road he has had to travel to get there. I can understand Schott Sr., Cowher and Shanahan being top choices. Billick as well but after that I would like to see NFL experience as opposed to dipping in the college ranks. Other than Jimmy Johnson I can't think of anyone who has really been successful going that route in recent memory
  16. First I feel that the secondary has the talent and depth that can get us through the next season. They will become better as our pass rush increases. Our DL...draft a DT with size and power to be in the mix with Stroud and Williams. Stroud is getting older and Williams has the heart but lacks the size and power to dominate. Attain a free agent DE that won't break the bank ie. Ray Edwards of Minnesota. If we hire Frazier acquiring Edwards should not be difficult. Talk Schobel out of retiring. This will allow us to get more push in the middle. LB's McClain at the #9 pick should be here. He possess size and power that Poz will never provide. Draft a later round OLB with size and power for the outside. Let Mitchell and Poz fight it out for the remaining spot. Did you notice the Jets LB's hitting in yesterdays game...that what we need. Three quality defensive draft picks should be attained for 2 LB, 1 DT. Trading down in the 1st round should not be out of the question. This will allow us to get an additional #2. We will also need an OT and G out of this draft as well. The asssumption is that free agency will not prevent a huge deterent for us due to the CBA or lack of one. We will need to get a QB through FA or the draft. Basically 4 new starters should give us more of an attacking defense.
  17. Our LB's aren't as quick to the ball and as tough as the Jets. Scott and Harris are just flat out better than Poz and Mitchell. Other than Revis I think our secondary is better. The secondary is clearly the strength of the defense and they are young. I would like to see how good they be with a solid pass rush.
  18. So you would rather have an emotional loser than a calm winner? You let DJ break you.
  19. At the beginning of this season Garrett was considered the problem, his job was on the line just as the other Cowboy coaches. If he is offered a job any where as a HC he should jump at it.
  20. Leslie Frazier seemed to have Jason Garrett's number in the game. We could use a defense like that. I think that we need to lock up Frazier while we can and I think that's what Nix is thinking as well. I would love to see him bring FA Ray Edwards with him.
  21. +1 As irritating as his off field activities may seem, it would be foolish to give him up. I would insist that he comes to camp 10-15 lbs lighter and in shape. He will be an asset for years to come. I would still draft another RB to be on the safe side. As long as we have stuck with other players that are mediocre or injured every year and never live up to their full potential. Why would we give away someone that has delivered from day one, made the pro bowl but had one bad year?
  22. It's very rare for person his age. Many times Dr's look at risk factors like blood pressure in older patients. In younger people it is picked up when getting Xrays or MRI's for something else.
  23. I think a team with McNabb, Vick, and Kolb definitely can lose a quarterback and still have a solid future. I think now would be a good time to make a run at Kolb. None of their QB's have multiple years left. Where if they dealt now, they would be guaranteed something in return. I think they view Vick as more than a bargaining tool. Why not offer them TE and 5th rounder with room to up it to a 4th.
