That's his slightly less football-centric little brother Lowell..........he got drafted in the 6th round a couple years ago and when he found out he wasn't going to get a $10M bonus.........he said f that noise and borrowed some of that "Buffalo money" to start a men's lingerie business. “Scouts have serious concerns about Lotulelei’s love of football and overall work ethic,” Zierlein wrote. “He was slow and sloppy this season and his quickness suffered badly because of it. Teams looking to draft him will have to be leaning on his 2015 or 2016 tape because he was a reject in 2017. If he doesn’t commit himself to the work it takes to be a pro, he will have a hard time sticking around.” I think they get $350K every time they opt out............you know, for living expenses.........so Bobby Bonilla might be paid in full before Star gets his last free meal check.

Bills a rumored suitor for Kareem Hunt trade
BADOLBILZ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No less........that's for sure. Seemed the mod thought that it was implausible to suggest that the agent of a player could be talking to another team about a possible contract while that player is still under contract with another team. In reality........that is happening all the time........only a fool would think that these Monday afternoon UFA deals were negotiated just then...........agents discuss parameters with teams for their still-under-contract players all the time. Steve Caric is his agent.......he has free agent players.......there is more than enough plausible deniability for him to have discussions with the Bills. -
It looks like Bills Management thinks it is the RBs.

He had a 38 yarder the year before.........when did that happen? And who cares? He sucks.......every other teams free agent or trade bait RB is better and you can't win a SB without one that is THAT good..........even if the numbers say otherwise on both counts! I want to add speed to the RB corps. I'd like that guy to be able to catch the ball. I also don't think it's something they should have to over-extend for. That's what scouts and league minimum salaries are for. -
Tonyan Given 2nd rnd tender, should bills offer?

Doesn't take rocket appliances to know that you give him an offer sheet........worst case, just cancel the check and you never have to pay. -

Maybe GB would do a straight up for Knox if Buffalo implied they would run up the cost for 1 year of Tonyan.........like a $6M deal........too cheap to let him go but maybe more expensive than they want. Ideally GB probably want someone to offer him a long term deal at a bargain rate and match and lock him up for way less than $10M. I don't think that happens in this market. He's next years Hunter Henry or maybe more $. Guys a beast, trains with Kittle, has lofty goals. Reportedly was a lot of trade interest in Knox last fall.........similar athlete to Tonyan, obviously more unfinished but more team control. -

Of course he's not quitting and walking away from his otherwise fully guaranteed pay day........all he's gotta' do is show up for camp and do some walk thru's and pocket $4.75M. He might even be able to pocket the $250K workout bonus without showing up if the owners/players agree to do a virtual offseason again.

Singletary had a 51 yard TD run this year. It's easy to cherry pick a small sample size or site a highlight we remember..........and sure Fournette had a nice run in the playoffs........but he ran for a woeful 3.8 ypc on the season and averages just a slightly less woeful 3.9 for his entire career. I want to see them add some speed options in the backfield but they can literally do that late in the draft or in street free agency and find a dude who can average more than 3.8 ypc. -

Maybe the Chiefs will waive Damien Williams and then everyone here can get a Super Bowl champion quality RB. Remember him.........4 years a turd in Miami. I don't think much of Motor or Moss..........didn't like drafting either of them...........but backs good enough to win with are still a dime-a-dozen. -

I want them to add some speed to the backfield mix..........but yeah they can win a SB with Singletary and Moss being the lead backs. Runnin' bax aren't that important. -
But I think Belichick warrants A LOT more benefit of the doubt.......on account of being the greatest coach in, at least modern, NFL history. People can talk all they want about Tom Brady's impact.......but that team Brady was on in Tampa this year was likely the most talented one he's been on and they were unfocused and ragged for most of the year and didn't even win their division. 11 wins in NE was a down year and they never had to play a wild card week game on the road. The Patriots won a ton with modest rosters for a decade before this.........rosters that didn't allow Brady to maximize his production.........and they still dominated.......so you can expect them to remain competitive. Really competitive. The Bills took so long to find a QB in great part because they weren't all in to win every year. Short cuts, financial excuses to pad the pockets of Ralph and Littman, skimping on quality coaching and personnel staff.........the Krafts will not be playing any "cash to the cap" BS either.........amirite @Bill from NYC?

Playing out of the shotgun all season..... the 2020 OL run blocking was terrible. Doesn't matter how light the box is if the back is being met by a defender untouched or virtually so in the hole at the LOS.......which was the case far too often. Singletary and Moss both ranked highly among NFL RB's in yards after first contact........so your contention that they were easy outs doesn't match the stats. And it's not uncommon for teams that use 10 and 11 personnel as much as the Bills did to end up not being very good running the ball........despite forcing the other team to play nickel and dime defenses. -
Predict the Bills first free agent signing
BADOLBILZ replied to Bag of Milk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In recent years they would sign a ST player for $3M-$4M and a backup OL for $4M-$6M and the seals on here would be clapping and honking! No sweat.......that's backup money! Now that would be the first year cap figure they'd have to bring a stud pass rusher in at. Some of that depth helped them have a legit excellent season for the first time in a coupled decades........Matakevich is a nice ST guy.........but the wizard coulda' been a little bit less generous on some of those deals. -

If you think Singletary was bad.........Leonard Fournette ran for a measly 3.8 ypc on the season with Evans, Godwin, AB, Gronk and Brate clearing out the back 7. And Kareem Hunt ran for just 4.2 on a loaded run blocking line. Yes Singletary got extra blocking and had a knack for being on the field for light boxes in 2019..........but the reality is that the Bills OL wasn't blocking it up in 2020........and Singletary ran for 4.4 on a team that averaged 4.2........he wasn't the limiting factor. -
On the plus side.......almost to the half way point of season.

Shaq played out of his head in a contract run...........you had to know that as soon as he got to a place with a bag of money and more Popeye's per square mile he'd slow down. I thought they milked Phillips for all the production they were going to get.........I wasn't a believer that he was going to be able to sustain anything. He started out hot though.......but then the other shoe dropped. Really fat guy on relatively skinny legs.

Olivier Vernon Cheap.....start out the season on IR.......hope to have him back and tuned for the playoffs? OK that probably wouldn't be the first signing but he's a fit for the "got no money, gotta' rush the passer better in playoffs" mindset. -
Phillips and Lawson had really poor seasons so that really worked out poorly for their teams. Star not being back? Irrelevant........as "meh" as he was in 2019 a street free agent might be able to beat him out at this point. Maybe Snacks will jump over from Green Bay for the minimum salary. And he's actually tackled a RB in the past 3 years.
-
They do..........but if you are going to push money down the road in the manner you are talking about.........I think you want to do it to acquire talent at key positions, IMO. They need that pass rusher.
-
Toney won't be there in the 5th round............but I think there very well may be be an undersized, big play WR and KR.....or multiple........from the 5th round who will end up better than Toney. Tyreke Hill got people over-projecting elusive guys, IMO.

Can someone explain to me the Pats strategy?
BADOLBILZ replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People expect the Patriots to just become irrelevant because the Bills did after the 2000 season..............the Bills aren't going to get a 20 year free pass.......they barely beat the Pats in Buffalo last year. Expect divisional dog fights with them even if their free agent haul turns out to be inefficient. Going to have to earn it. -
Glad he is going to consume $10M in cap space there...........even if it is spread out with some voidable years...........I was hoping it would be at least $8M so that's a win...........don't want to see guys playing for peanuts just to be with Tommy.
-
I think he's a 4-3 DE all the way.........but when you already have an undersized pass rushing DE in Hughes it's more of an invitation to get ran on..........so not an ideal fit in that regard.
