There is some truth to that.........cutting the stadium down to 60K makes the ticket more exclusive.......but keep in mind that the cost of the ticket will likely triple when you figure in licenses. I'm all for making the stadium smaller capacity. But I can tell you from 3 decades of personal experience attending almost every single preseason and regular season game........that Carolina game was the game when you bring those dudes that would normally never pay for a ticket. Tickets were literally $10 online and not selling. I sit in the lower bowl and not only were lot's of seats empty but the two people next to me and 6 directly in front of me were all just there because they got the tickets for free or next to nothing. That's not a good business model. And you have to be open to the idea that the NFL just might be greedy. The league doesn't want you looking at the ticket buying, parking and pretzel as the entire process. Then they will want you to come in very early and gamble at their in-house casino(something nobody would have imagined 20 years ago), partake in their expensive food and booze rather than tailgate(and on average it probably costs us $30 per person to eat and drink at our tailgates cuz we eat good) and buy merchandise to commemorate this joyous event (and not necessarily just NFL merchandise). And they should feel confident that it will work. If they can squeeze in other events or get people to show up for some of that year round that's just gravy. I remember my parents generation complaining about the cost of Ralph's $20 tickets but when they would drop $1K at the track or casino on the weekend that was just "the high cost of entertainment". The NFL is less than half-way into fans pockets on gameday. At least those select 60K. They know it they just gotta' figure out how to get it. IMO they will have a much harder time extracting that dough if a lot of the actual paying customers don't show up for the last 4 games or if they have to show up in a snowsuit/rainsuit with 6 other layers of clothing.

The thing about studies is that they rely on old data. Things change. The people who just want another hole in the ground in OP also can't really imagine what the league is going to look like in 20 years when the stadium is approaching it's half-life.......nor do they care because they will likely be unable to enjoy it then. The people on this board are definitely not the demographic that will be paying for this stadium and enjoying the entertainment options etc..

Man, you are a seriously damaged fan if that's how you feel.......in reality a win put them in position to play for the division lead......one of their 5 best seasons to this point in the last 25 years. But I agree there are a lot of permanently mind-fxcked Bills fans who have felt that they were promised greatness this year so they really aren't enjoying any of this. The drought drained all of the blood out of some of you. But a lot more people didn't show up Sunday because they don't like sitting out in the cold. Or watching the weather compromised product we've seen too often this season. It was a pretty lousy attendance day for a team who still has a chance at a SB run..........but that's just like it always is late in the season(even in the 90's) because people don't want to sit out in the cold. Wait until the regular season gets extended 2 more weeks with the 18th game and the 2nd bye. Then the outdoor-playing Bills will have two months of fans making business decisions because they don't want to sit out in the weather.

All true criticisms. And it's been beaten to death........but it's true........literally every team has significant issues this season. There is no truly outstanding team at this time. Which is unusual. In certain other sports it's not really uncommon for a "not great" team to make it to the finals and sometimes win it.........the Montreal Canadiens in NHL last year or the Washington Nationals in MLB a couple years ago would be a couple examples. We aren't used to that in the NFL so I think our tendency is to write this Bills team of because of it. When I think of SB teams that didn't look like one during the season I think of teams like the 1985 Patriots or the 1994 Chargers........not so many since.........and unlike those two seasons there really isn't a "super team" waiting on the other side of the bracket. So maybe this is the year where one or both of the SB teams has a lot of flaws. But considering the Bills huge and likely to expand point differential..........I don't even know if anyone would be able to look back and say the Bills were a weak SB team if they reached it this season.

In fairness..........there probably aren't a dozen RB's who both make that play to get the cutback and then also run past those defenders. That play should have been over behind the LOS. If he had those extra wheels that 4.8 career ypa would probably look more like Nick Chubb's career 5.3 ypa.

There are rarely more than 1 or 2 massive DT's in the NFL in any given season that are comparable to what Ted Washington was when he was with the Bills.......and that's being generous. IMO there hasn't been anyone with his combo of size, durability, longevity and impact since he retired.

One of the big issues they have is that they line up their 3T on the heavy side of the formation mostly..........and their 3T is an undersized guy who isn't built to handle double teams. So really, what they need to function best is a bigger, stronger 3T if they want to keep aligning this way on the DL. I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to trade Ed Oliver this offseason. He IS their best DL but he is limited by the system and the 5th year option decision is due in spring. The Bills really need him to finish strong both for their own current need but also to possibly stir up some trade interest. Unless they make some fundamental changes I can't see them ever getting much bang for the buck out of Oliver. I haven't been watching Akiem Hicks of Chicago much this year, but he would be an ideal 3T if they want to stay with the "over" front because he can take on the double but also push the pocket from the traditionally pass rusher friendly 3T position.

I don't think the Chargers are a lock........they are a very flawed team that has to play balls-to-wall aggressive to cover for their terrible defense. And the Bills have a significant schedule advantage over those AFC North teams. The combination of opponents and divisional familiarity is such that it wouldn't even be a shock if 9-8 won that division.

Well that's obviously wrong. What happened was he got carried away with his power and alienated the people he needed to make it work. As I'm sure Sean McDermott would attest.......one man with no rings can't make an organization of 100 other people trust his process. HC's need people in their corner. And then some of the things that made him so successful became more commonplace in the league and his team got easier to play. His system and style lost some edge. But he wasn't just a tactics guy either. We watched him put together a game plan to bait Shady into going outside of Greg Roman's system........by the time they subbed McCoy out and gashed the Eagles inside it was too late..........a very costly defeat for Buffalo and probably the greatest regret of McCoy's career was not backing up his talk about Kelly. Kelly also made Nick Foles. Outside of running that RPO he's never been any good. He even won with totally finished Mark Sanchez. His one season with Sam Bradford was the only season in his career where Bradford started a significant portion of his team's games and even had a .500 record. Kelly had a shelf life.........but so did guys who lead teams to SB's like Mike Martz and Sam Wyche. Not everybody is cut out to be Bill Belichick or Andy Reid..........but Kelly was cut out to replace the latter when he'd worn out his welcome in Philly........and improve the team's record by 6 wins.

It is when the narrative on TSW was that Kelly had left the roster bereft and set the team back 5 years.........and then after one season of developing a rookie QB later they were dominating the NFC in the 2017 season. Much of that was homers jumping to LeSean McCoy's defense.........but McCoy just wouldn't take the inside yards in Philly(or in his first year in Buffalo) so Chip had to dump him and his fat salary. The mistake was overpaying for the other RB's. Combined they actually produced a better running game than McCoy had the year prior.......he actually lead the NFL in fewest yards per touch in his last season in Philly............ but Kelly vastly overpaid Murray and Matthews. As for all of the talent "preceding" him.........he took over a 4-12 team so you doth protest too much. He whipped them into shape.......often too their dislike........and won 10 games in both of his seasons with Philly. Again...........please be more thorough with the reading comprehension..........the straw man arguments created by not doing so are tiresome and pollute threads.

I didn't say "acquired". I've noticed that misreading and subsequently misrepresenting a point is a running theme with you over the years...........this then leads to other people assuming what you misrepresented was an actual point of contention etc.. The majority of the very top players on that 2017 Eagles roster had also played for....and trained under Chip Kelly. Foles was just the latter of those two things........but the RPO stuff he learned in his 28 TD 2 INT season under Kelly was crucial to them actually upsetting NE in the SB. Not that finding 2 All Pro's in 2 seasons is a particularly bad haul though.

1) I've seen numerous cases where players get knocked cold and arms go straight out and tremble etc.. Used to see them mostly on special teams though. 2) Parham is an extremely awkward player. Very big, decent ball skills but a really clumsy athlete.......... it doesn't surprise me that he would get hurt badly on a seemingly routine play because every time I watch him I expect him to get smashed or flipped onto his head. I'm surprised that he's turned into a solid NFL player.

Yeah.........block it up and Singletary will go back to being a 5.0 ypc back. IMO he was as good of a prospect as any of the guys coming out this year. OP is wrong thinking this is a good RB draft. It ain't.

Actually it was a lot more about Chip Kelly really bringing the RPO into prominence in the league, training Nick Foles to be very good at running it.......... and of course whipping the Eagles roster into great physical shape and leaving more talent behind than people acknowledge. His fingerprints are on that trophy more than those of Schwartz and Reich. Pederson was the "player's coach" following the disciplinarian. That's generally a good combo but like Wade Phillips following Bills Parcells........it can look great for a short time........but when you aren't an attention to detail coach......when it starts going bad it goes bad fast.
