Pats fans filling the Club Seats again?
BADOLBILZ replied to ProcessTruster's topic in The Stadium Wall
One of the guys I tailgate with is an attorney who was traveling back from Charlotte and he said there were a lot of Patriots fans flying up from there to Buffalo but they were telling him they weren't actually going to the game. They were just up to watch the game in the area and enjoy the partying atmosphere around Buffalo for the game. That seems to jive with some of the reports of fans at the hotels etc.. I'm not even sure I would put the numbers of Pats fans in the "thousands" at the game. -
Hammer's lot was packed at 3:30 when we rolled in where we tailgate next to his house. So people were trying hard, it wasn't anything to do with the opponent or attitude of the fans. I didn't go over there but if there was less activity compared to most games that's probably because Hammer's Lot is very exposed to the weather and the wind was violent. The neighborhood lots are much more sheltered. If you were out in the wind using a propane grill you most likely weren't able to cook at all..........and if you didn't have a charcoal chimney getting charcoal going was probably close to impossible either. It was just a normal but longer tailgate for us and the people in our lot.

Pats fans filling the Club Seats again?

There were very few Pats fans there last night. They were mostly in the obstructed view lower/lower bowl seats on visitor side. They weren't a factor. -

I do think the thought of 2 games in 5 days was probably in their head. -

There are days when the right message is "We're outta' here". Not many in recent years......but that one was a PRIME example. Just a pathetic effort and performance combined with miserable weather. -
There are many millions of reasons why Manny Diaz would be an idiot to quit his job on principle. He isn't walking into another multi-million dollar AAV coaching deal anytime soon. As far as pride.........all he has to do is cite Jim Harbaugh accepting a 50% pay cut to not be fired last winter and how that worked out.

As we all know..........it really depends on how urgently they view addressing their weaknesses is..........the cap is EXTREMELY malleable. We heard last offseason that the numbers dictated that they wouldn't be able to do anything at all in FA and were going to lose several players..........then they signed Milano back........and Williams..........and Feliciano........and brought in Sanders........and kept Morse.........and were in on Gronk...........and JJ Watt. They have lot's of contracts they can adjust.........more than just Klein that they will likely cut.........and the promise of BIG cap increases several years down the road once the impact of Covid has diminished.

Yeah could really help the Bills do some work they couldn't get done last winter. Might be able to compete for a G like Laken Tomlinson and pursue a finishing pass rusher or FA or trade for one like Khalil Mack etc..

The Panthers might be the biggest sh*t show in the NFL right now.

Letting him go back to one of the better college OC jobs while the higher paying gigs are available?
-
Yeah that would have been fun. TVD is better than expected. Garcia looked better than him in spring last year though and presumably he will be back. So there should be competition and QB isn't a problem area for a change. Looks like Cristobal and Radakovich are a done deal per reports today.

This sounds like a pointed message to @teef to not sell his Club Seats to Patriots fans. -
I guess we will see. Rumor is one of the billionaire booster families wants to self-fund a 50K seat stadium on the current site of Coral Gables HS. And said booster may have a vested interest in Cristobal getting the job as they are related by marriage. Personally, I thought Kiffin would have been the best fit for what they have now. But any plan is better than what they have had for the past 30 years, really.

Had some really great wings at Bar Bill North couple days ago. Never not had wings at a Bar Bill that weren't better than the best I had at Duff's.

Well, I mean they don't want to lose any commitments from Manny's top 60 rated recruiting class, right?. Manny already lost basically his whole offensive staff to SMU and he's his own DC.........they could just hang up fliers at Publix and recruit better than Manny at this point..........so basically they just haven't gotten around to making that one phone call.
-
Yeah @BUFFALOBART was at that one as well.

Hopefully most of the fans will be wrapped up like they are planning to be driving a snowmobile all night so the cold doesn't get to them...........but if it gets that windy people will be heading to the exits. You won't even be able to even keep your eyes open to watch the game without goggles on at 60 mph. Even the lower end prediction for in the 20's in mph for winds is worse than the Bills/Ravens playoff game last year..........and that was a windy GD game.

Later in the calendar year of 1994 the Bills played the dome team Vikings on a lousy weather day after a big snow storm and the Vikes whipped the Bills and busted Kelly's knee........which effectively knocked the Bills out of the playoffs because Reich was brutal in relief the rest of the season. But, you know that team had such a HUGE home field advantage.......right?..........especially over a sissy dome team. (and everyone only remembers Reich as a great backup instead of the bum that he was that season). To add insult to literal injury in that Vikings loss........there was nearly 4 inches of water and slush in the parking lots because they decided to just salt the lots instead of plow them. Yeah that was the day I found out that when people get hypothermia one of the signs is an inability to communicate. We thought Ted was just not speaking to us because we had made fun of him for not dressing heavily enough. Yay for bad weather!

If you mean doesn't rain or bitter cold combined with high winds usually just level the playing field for the lesser opponent?.........which the Bills too often have been in the 2000's........then yes it's been an advantage. People reflect fondly on the 2017 snow game because the Bills won.........what they don't recall is that the weather made it possible for a terrible 3-10 Colts team to almost beat the playoff contending Bills at home. And tell any Bills fan that drove to Cleveland to watch the "in the hunt" Bills lose 8-0 in a blizzard about the weather not affecting team performance. More often than not bad weather just cheats the fans out of a good football performance. We've seen a whole lotta' bad football on bad weather days in Buffalo. It's not a good thing for anyone involved.
