Dion Dawkins on this play - amazing hustle
BADOLBILZ replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ryan Bates had a really good game. The Penn State folks that used to moderate here were quick to cite that to me postgame. -
As I said.......not proud of hating on him. But he's a scumbag on the football field. I try to ignore his play because I know he just is what he is and his misanthropic behavior has great value for a HC like Bill Belichick, who wants to win at ANY cost. Judon will probably get an extra season or two out of his career just because of it. As for off the field.........the Blind-Torture-Kill killer was a loving dad too so the fact that Judon may like his own family and treat them well doesn't tell me he's a good guy. As for bringing up some misfortune that happened to him off-the-field.........I never said he wasn't a human being.

That was the NFL version of the play in the NBA where the defender steps under the elevated 3 point shooter so that the shooter lands on their foot and twists their ankle. That is now a foul in the NBA. If you want to get rid of totally unnecessary tactics that could lead to injuries to star players.........you fine guys that do it and let the union decide if they want to fight for that kind of sh*t or not.

Brian Daboll deserves a lot of credit today.

12/26/21 Week 16 Gameday Bills @ Patriots* Postgame Thread

Jones has been hailed for being on course to break the rookie completion % record........but that completion % fell to 67.2 after today..........now below the rookie # of Dak Prescott (67.8) in 2016. -

Yeah and that collision looked like it hurt. -
I rarely have an actual personal anger with opposing players............so I feel bad about this..........but I have LONG had an outright hate for Matt Judon. I noticed what a scumbag he was prior..........but ever since Allen's first career regular season game.......he cheap shotted Allen several times........I've hated the guy. When he signed with the Pats I thought "of course ........he's easily the dirtiest player in the NFL.......just like Rodney Harrison was with the Patriots long before him". Judon never disappoints in that regard.

Don't fauxpologize to me.......I'm indifferent........I'm just telling you to explain why people think you are a Patriots fan. That's a feel bad story.
-
You've been here 20 years?? Any time you integrate random numbers to memorize........or any numbers really.......... into your screen name people tend to make a conscious effort to forget your handle.
-
Yeah if you have been following the standings........both teams as middle seeds as either division winner or WC.......they have been aligning up to meet again early in the playoffs..........possibly regardless of who won today's game. That was a subject at our pre-game tailgate........this game was round 2 of a likely 3 round fight. And IMO the only way to begin to get a measure of revenge on Belichick is to beat him in the playoffs...........so I relish a re-match in Buffalo. Very reminiscent of the opportunities the Bills got against Shula in the early 90's. The hand wringers were worried sick about that late season Dolphins matchup for the AFC East lead in 1990.........and then the subsequent playoff game. The damaged fans were still expecting Shula to re-take ownership. 3 playoff wins later.......including sending him into retirement with 343 yards rushing against..........the slate with Shula felt much more even despite the regular season past. Of course........getting another crack at the Dolphins in the WC round wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

It's easy to blame the skeptic. People who expected a cakewalk back to the AFCCG and are now triggered and kickin rocks in self pity are just being pathetic. It won't be forgotten. -
The OL struggles have been extremely frustrating. But let's face it..........if the Bills were 13-1 a lot of the same fans who have found no joy in this season would be worrying themselves to the point of zero enjoyment about potential injuries or the prospect of being upset in the playoffs. Winning one SB will do a couple things..........ease the regular season anxiety GREATLY..........and rid us of the people who are really only invested because the Bills haven't won a SB and they need that negativity in their lives. Example of the latter is Bulldog from WGR who is a Red Sox fan who thought he was a die-hard.........until they won a WS.........after that he lost interest. For people like that a season like this is hell because they have a finish line as a fan.
-
I'm enjoying the season.........last game was our best tailgate of the year too, it was great fun............. but I do see where the high expectations + the Covid related drama and the extremely inconsistent play has been very triggering for people who are already inclined to feel sorry for themselves or expect the worst.

Should we bring back John Brown for the Patriots game?
BADOLBILZ replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd like to see him brought back but as Sal noted this morning on WGR........Brown was pretty pissed when they cut him. Not like he has a lot to gain financially by showing up to be on the PS or even play a couple games so he would have to have the want-to to come back if the Bills called him. -
Yeah and it seems to be a trend that home field advantage isn't such an advantage anymore. Home teams are pretty close to .500 this season. So if the better team wins regardless more often or not......the idea of building for your unique home weather circumstance seems counterintuitive when you have 8-9 regular season road games every year that are all fair game as well. Not putting a dome on the stadium just makes it a less attractive place to play.............which increases the chance that you aren't fielding the better team.
-
12-3 actually. All but 2 of those games are really ancient history.......league was very different then.......and they really struggled to win those 2 fan-less games last year........looking very little like the team they had been all season. Homefield advantage ain't what it used to be.........coming into last weekend home teams actually had a slightly below .500 record in 2021 and the Bills had been 3-3.

It didn't load on my fully updated Mac so I pulled it up on my phone and it loaded like something from the 90's. Bad picture. I have video of the Diggs TD and the entire stadium after the play and there are large swaths of empty seats in the upper deck and the gappy seating in the lower bowl. But if you don't want to believe they pad the attendance figures that's up to you. Always have. Either way we are talking about thousands of no-shows for a game that sets the team up to play a de facto division championship game the next week............when the team has only won the division once since 1995. Like I said.........if they lose to NE there will be MORE no shows.........not less. Then there will be another game against an uninspiring opponent. And in the life of the stadium there will be entire seasons where the team is poor or mediocre and has to play 4 games or more in December and January.
-
As I thought.........you clearly weren't there. It was far from 65K in actual attendance. The amount of tickets sold(in a year the team was expected to go to the SB by fans) and the ACTUAL attendance on game day are two different things. Additionally.........there were tons of free-loaders there......as I said the people to my right and in front of me were just there because they had gotten the tickets for free or very cheap(tickets were as low as $8 online and going unsold). And even then there were dozens of empty seats right in my section which are great seats near the 50 in the lower bowl. Late season attendance is an issue. Always has been and always will be going forward if they insist on an outdoor facility. The reality is that people don't want to sit out in the cold and especially when they have to drive an hour or 3 to get to the stadium in the first place.........which is common because the Bills are a very "regional" franchise. Doesn't affect me personally I tailgate out in the elements either way and I'm on site for 10 hours every game and love it.........but as someone who has had to get people to show up to late season games to use up our extra season tickets(for the better part of 30 years now) I know more than some schmo who just lives the Bills experience online.
-
When prices are mostly static with modest increases as they have been for decades? Sure. When they increase by thousands per ticket to pay for a new stadium? C'mon bro. My point is that the Bills lack of advancing to a modern pricing model(because of their modest/basic facilities) has lead to a false read on the veracity of ticket buyers because they've remained cheap enough for existing season ticket holders to just keep adding extra's.
-
Again you are leaning on old data to make your argument. When the price of tickets triples........that changes. Every account in our group has at least one "extra" ticket.......we will likely all keep our own seats for seniority purposes........but in total about 40% of our season tickets will likely get turned in when they go from $1400 to $4000 each. This would seem to be a recurring theme around us in the lower bowl as well.

Asking me how business went in a business setting is fine.........even the highly secretive Letchworth project spearheaded by DD were fair game when that project was originally greenlighted. The NDA prevents discussing the details of it now though. These PC's are a mandatory business meeting for Allen, not the proper time for idle chatter and small talk about things you learned about him by creeping on the internet. Yep @eball has never forgiven me for asking him about that.
