  1. Eh.....that's a bad take. Miami scored one TD on a very short field and the other was set up by an uncharacteristically bad defensive call to rush 3 that set up Waddle for the long TD. Otherwise they did nothing in a sport where possessions alternate. Except throw a terrible would-be pick 6 that Milano dropped.
  2. Is Dawkins ill today? No he is practicing in full. I'm afraaaaaid he's not Mrs. Fishpaw.
  3. Agree. The run defense destroying Dareus trade, followed by the Tyrod benching undermined a fantastic start to 2017 where they were trending toward an 11-5 type season with big buy-in. Took a truly feeble schedule and some lucky breaks to back into the playoffs after the worst 3 game stretch in team history. If they are positioned as a playoff team in mid-October I'm not sure Daboll wants to count on such good fortune trading a key contributor even if they don't expect to retain Barkley.
  4. How dare you mock a guy who laid his life on the line Sunday..........you really should gouge your own eyeballs out.
  5. I agree. And the people who downplay McKenzie's penchant for mistakes are the same people whose jaws were hanging in disbelief when McD proceeded to bench him after he fell on his face and fumbled the kickoff versus Indy last year. The coaches have spoken with their actions wrt McKenzie in the past. I think they've been waiting for him to mature and turn into a reliable decision maker on the field.........and the low investment required to keep him has tempted them to retain him and hope for the best.......but it is very possible that Dorsey's freak out was more about McKenzie than the team as a whole falling short.
  6. Or just dive down so they had time to spike the ball and stop the clock? Been saying it for a couple years.......he's never been given a job he hasn't given back..........and the reason isn't talent........it's mistakes made because he isn't a smart football player. This is why he's barely more than minimum salaried with no contract security............they are getting a guy with the traits to produce on the cheap but the trade-off is that there are going to be mental errors that have traditionally negated his value.
  7. I can think of about 15 Patriots teams that could and did. The Bills are stepping up in class with this schedule this season...........this is usually the way it is EVERY YEAR for teams that are SB contenders...........and there are going to be years where you have a lot of injuries. It merely underscores how bad blowing the ridiculously easy schedule and good health of last season was. To borrow a take from another sport.........the Bills made withdrawals from the bank of goodwill last year with their underachieving...........time to make some deposits and win some games where there is some adversity.
  8. The Bills have no ability to do that? Half of the team literally lives in South Florida. Have you been in Florida in June and July when the players are off? The conditioning issue is not just about acclimation. There is a choice aspect to it. The Bills don't push thru the heat in camp either........they take it easy on the hotter days. That is part of their plan for preserving players thru the season. The least surprising thing at all was seeing Spencer Brown leave the game gassed. Dude had hardly practiced before the opener. I'm not saying the Bills are lax in camp but there is sometimes a trade-off for not being as physically fit as your competition. The Dolphins were in the shade but their D was on the field for 40 minutes and 90 plays and they were still playing like it was the second quarter at the end. HUGE difference in conditioning. It's just harder to play football in that heat so regular work in camp does the trick. You want to be better prepared coming from a northern climate you have to work a little harder than that or put in that kind of training in June/July. It's possible but it's not going to happen.
  9. That is hilarious. He also went by "Combo" on usenet as I recall. Was it John from Hemet that he had enraged and then challenged to the spearing contest at the TBDAHOT? The volunteer firefighter thing was a great shtick too..........the low hanging fruit was falling by the bushel.
  10. The concern with Josh Allen is less about an immediate injury, rather the cumulative effect of all the hard hits taken from running the ball 10x per game in addition to the pocket hits. Not that he hasn't gotten injured, hopefully the thumb injury that required an X-ray after the game doesn't compromise his passing in the coming weeks.
  11. It's been similar in WNY. Heavy rain, freak storms and even tornadoes. Had a freak lightning strike on the Spectrum cable line today and experienced a burst of electricity in the air thru the wifi about 3' from the PC...........like a large static electricity pop. Computer screen didn't even flicker but cable wifi was out for about 3 hours while Spectrum repaired. I guess maybe the wifi is actually slowly microwaving us.
  12. Asking for a forfeit should be embarrassing. But they should be fined and lose more draft picks. It was blatant. That was exactly the kind of old school " just had his bell rung" situation that they are trying to protect players against. For those that have never had a concussion.......it's normal to get one and then feel fine just a few minutes later..........only to start feeling the damage hours later when the swelling sets in and adrenaline has worn off.
  13. Sanford and Son. "The Big Dummy". The guy who dubbed him that is Puerto Rican so he figures it's not racist if he says it.
  14. I do wonder if maybe Dorsey wasn't really in favor of moving on from field-smart veteran WR's like Beasley and Sanders only to replace them with Lil' Dummy and starting with the INT he handed off in game 1 maybe his frustration with him was brewing. That's not a "team" tantrum........that is focused rage. Running the clock out on 2nd down trying to get 2 more yards..........yeeeeeesh.
  15. It wasn't the Jags game only because they completed like 15 passes to RB's and kept the chains moving this time..........last year Allen kept trying to push the ball further downfield in Jax.......culminating in the big Gabe Davis drop on the final drive. Not that 17 points is miles better than 6. The Bills have had a flaw in their passing game..........the YAC guy that can take a short pass to the house..........since John Brown got hurt and then let go. They miss that legit 4.3 speed. He had multiple huge such plays.......one against the Ravens, in fact. You don't need a 50 yard short pass blitz beater very often to discourage defense's from blitzing. Cook has been meh so far...........beside the fumble in LA he lacks wiggle and while he is fast for a Bills RB he is not fast or elusive compared to the athletes in the secondary and isn't going to break many tackles either. Cook ran a 4.42 at the combine on a fast track where DB's were laying down record times. He's not fast enough to win on speed alone. And the "he's a WR playing RB" stuff was nonsense. Even huge producing RB receivers like McCaffrey and Kamara aren't getting much more than 8 yards per reception. That ain't WR production. It's why slot receivers have really replaced the 3rd down back in the passing game.
  16. My point about the blitz was with regard to the Bills offense making the Ravens pay for using the same gameplan against Josh that the Dolphins did. The Bills defense is the Bills defense.........they aren't going to blitz and they shouldn't.
  17. Good night.......
  18. You must have missed the Ravens season last year. Their entire team seemed to get injured in the span of 3-4 games.
  19. If it was fishy........the Miami medical staff would have cleared him of concussion protocol already.
  20. It's Lamar Jackson week and then the pathetic Mitch Trubisky comes to town. I think they can get thru that stretch even with Jamarcus Ingram. They've yet to lose a game in the McD era because of their CB play. Bigger concern is getting more big plays against the blitz on offense this week.
  21. This season is going to a grind......they will not go 16-1. The AFC is tougher than it's ever been..........and they have 9 road games instead of 8 road trips like last year........and while the Bills are the deserving favorites they are not without weaknesses that will be taken advantage of against certain opponents even if they get healthy. The best part of losing to the Dolphins...........is just like losing to the Patriots last season..........the chance to possibly beat them the second time AND a third time at home in the playoffs. Just hopefully it's in the divisional round instead of the WC this time. After the Patriots beat the Bills last year the Boston media was saying sh* t like "you will remember where you were for this game 25 years from now". They were certain they had turned the tables back to their dominance. Two matchups and just a matter of weeks later the Bills gave them their worst, most humiliating loss in team history and had re-asserted their dominance.
  22. It caught up to them last season. The Miami defensive gameplan concept yesterday was pulled right from Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars. One YAC game breaker in the WR corps and that sh*t never works.
  23. I can't wait to see him double catch a 4 yard pass on 3rd and 14, get tackled immediately and then get up give the 1st down signal. I don't think that dude could have earned snaps in the 2013 Bills WR corps. If it gets that far it's NFG.
  24. I remember the conditions. But they should have blown the Dolphins out. That kind of desperate blitzing is almost unheard of........any good QB carves up the blitz........and Allen beat the blitz time and again but they didn't have the YAC athletes to cash those blank checks. So it was taking 12-20 plays to get down the field. Allen got smacked around but good in that game. Hopefully the hand injury sustained in all that frantic small-ball doesn't hinder his accuracy going forward.
  25. In defense of Beane's lack of attention to the WR position..........EVERY team would be screwed if they lost a Jake Kumerow. Need some juice BBB..........gotta' make teams pay for blitzing Allen.........no YAC talent = worth it to blitz. Guess we will see if Shakir can do.
