  1. At this point I’d say Allen’s ceiling is Bartles. A better runner, worse passer, passable if you have a stellar defense. Actually as a whole the QB crop from last year was overrated.
  2. If the schedule had been played in reverse we would likely be looking at a pair of 2-6 teams. The benefit of an incredibly easy schedule can’t be overstated. With that said, the Browns have found ways to lose this year so I’m still expecting a win.
  3. The Bills could easily win this game but Allen’s weakness are becoming very obvious.
  4. Then look to run. You can’t just give up a chance for a first down in that situation.
  5. There has to be some checkdown there. Beasley wasn’t open. Allen has had enough games to do better than that.
  6. Likely only one more hummer after this game. I think percentage drop below 50-50 if they lose here.
  7. I think it’s fair to say that neither of these teams strikes fear into the heart of upper echelon teams in the NFL.
  8. You can't underestimate the benefit of the schedule this year. The Bills have 6 wins against teams with an 8-38 record. It would be a very bad sign if they had less than 6 wins. To their credit they haven't lost to a team they clearly should have beaten, so they are taking advantage of a dream schedule unlike any I can ever remember. Hopefully they can improve so that their playoff run won't end like 2017.
  9. That's the issue. With each game Allen (a) doesn't look like a complete bust, (b) doesn't look like the next top 5 QB, such as a Ben R,, and (c) seems more likely to fit within the Bortles, Mariota category of good enough to keep your team competitive but clearly lacking the attributes of a top level QB (e.g., accuracy at short, middle and long passes, high football IQ). If you can get your defense to a high level you can make to an AFC championship game, ala Jacksonville with Bortles, but it takes all the pieces falling into place just right.
  10. Have to disagree. The 5 wins are against teams that are a combined 7-30 at this point, and none of the wins were dominating. In fact, I'd argue the Bills' best game was the loss to the Patriots. Fortunately, their next four games are against bad to awful teams, but the last 5 will pose some problems. In any event, if the Bills are ahead of schedule, being a SB contender must be scheduled quite a ways in the future.
  11. I think you're right, which will be a huge disappointment, even in they edge into the playoffs. This year's easy schedule is one you pray for each year and it not often repeated. You have to take the fullest advantage of it. It's possible, however, that the Bills simply aren't ready with a QB who clearly needs a lot of work, a WR corp that is at best mediocre and another lousy OL. The defense is quite a bit ahead of the offense, but not good enough to compensate for the offense's ineptness.
