  1. A dome doesn't create a good OL. A dome doesn't create a good run defense. A dome won't eliminate brain dead challenges that cost the team a precious TO.
  2. Well, I was in attendance at the Bills - Pats playoff game in December 1963 that decided the Eastern Conference champion. I dare say that game was bigger - and it was much much colder too, lol (21 degrees, relative humidity 77%, wind 11 mph, wind chill 9). I also hope for a much different outcome tonight!
  3. I was just commenting on the poster's comment that the Dolphins were just beating up on the lousy teams just like the Bills. The fact the Dolphins lost to the Jags simply is further evidence of that comment's inaccuracy.
  4. weather.com predicts snow during the day and a below freezing night. Which begs the question, why does the NFL schedule a Monday night game in Buffalo in December?
  5. He clearly is hurt and there's no excuse for not playing Keenum, who isn't a scrub as a backup. Any decent QB play tonight and the Browns would have won, although their receiving corp looks extremely average at best.
  6. Since the Ravens only scored 13 points, Lamar was actually an impediment tonight. It was hard to take the announcers' ball gargling of Jackson on a night when he looked awful. 4 interceptions total, 3 of which were inexcusable.
  7. Bills are probably fortunate they are finished with the Dolphins. Miami seems to be on a bit of a run, albeit against lousy competition (not that the Bills benefited all that much against the patsies on their schedule).
  8. Singletary gets dissed here, but give him a good OL and he'd be one of the better running backs in the league. The Bills' below average OL hampers him just as much as it does Allen.
  9. Definite no to Super Bowl. Unlikely to the playoffs. KC is the only good team they have beaten, and they beat KC when KC was playing its worst ball. Next 4 games are tough, and unless they win at least 2 of them, 9 wins won't make the playoffs with the mediocre conference record. Next two weeks are huge. Win both and the Bills suddenly have a big leg up to win the Division with the tie-breaker against New England.
  10. Last year may have instilled an unjustified sense of confidence. Teams may trend in a direction from one year to the next, but last year's success means nothing for this year. Obvious needs in the OL weren't addressed, the changes to the DL were insufficient. The Chiefs are the only team with an above .500 record the Bills have beaten. They are not a playoff caliber team at the moment, and I'm not sure they will make it. They could very easily lose 4 of the next 5 games, and 9-8 won't make the playoffs.
  11. They are a marginal playoff team at best. Next four games could all be L’s. They need at least two of the four to stay WC race. Have to beat NE twice to win division.
  12. Is today the day we stop worrying about winning the division and start worrying about making the playoffs? Upcoming schedule is not exactly weak.
  13. Hardly. Firing people now isn't the answer, but there clearly is a problem with the team right now. Losing to the pathetic Jags and struggling against the equally pathetic Jets points to problems. The team, particularly the offense, is not operating up to expectations.
  14. The team as a whole has clearly taken a step back from last year. Whether due to complacency, failure to address needs, or the opposition figuring out how to deal with the offense I don't know, but something is amiss.
  15. "If you looked at the Bills' performance only from a statistical standpoint, it appeared the offensive line had an OK day. Per NFL Next Gen Stats, Allen had 3.12 seconds to throw, his second-highest window of the season, and he threw 64% of his passes to open receivers, a season high." https://www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/36546/what-went-wrong-with-the-bills-offense-and-can-it-be-fixed As for the .22, it was the worst in the league Sunday.
  16. Well, my favorite college team, my alma mater, the worst FBS team in the country, finally broke its 20 game losing streak yesterday (mostly due to Cal losing 10 starters and 24 players total to injury and Covid protocols, but still a win is a win). So yippie! Follow that up with today's absolute abomination of a Bills' game, and you have a perfect example of the roller coaster of sports. I generally just watch games where one of my teams is playing.
  17. Question: why do the running backs get labeled terrible despite running behind a terrible OL, but Allen's problems are explained away by a terrible OL? I think Singletary and Moss are perfectly acceptable backs who are just as hampered by the OL as Allen is.
  18. It may be that over-achieving in 2020 resulted in a bit of a over confidence on the part of Beane and McDermott and they didn't take a hard enough look at the roster deficiencies.
  19. In 1988 the Bills surprised by winning the AFC East with a 12-4 record and everything looked rosy heading into 1989. 1989 arrives and the Bills start quickly at 6-2 only to limp home 3-5 in the regular season. They still win a lousy division at 9-7 but lose their first playoff game. 2021 is beginning to look eerily similar to 1989 and the Bills could win the division with a mediocre record like 9-8 or 10-7. The good news is that 1989 was just a temporary blip and we know what happened the next four years.
