  1. I think McD is an outstanding defensive mind and coach, sorta like Bill. I wouldn't want to lose that. What he needs is an OC who can pull his weight and be on his level. He doesn't have that. Dorsey isn't there yet.
  2. I wasn't clear why the flag was picked up and another poster said the pass was ruled uncatchable (clearly there was no tip). Begs the question why it's not PI or holding when the defender with his back to the ball blocks the receiver out from going to the ball. And why did the ref tell the defender to put his hat back on instead of penalizing him. On a crucial 3rd conversion the KC receiver appeared to have both feet off the ground and out of bounds after the catch (not just one foot). It was upheld as a catch even after review. And when a Vikings defender stole the ball from Kelsey as it was still moving in his hands as he hit the ground it was ruled a catch. Glad I'm not a Vikings fan this morning.
  3. Well yeah but if they seem obvious to the dedicated fanbase they must be so also to everyone at OBD (and not just McD but to Dorsey himself). I think McD probably gives his coordinators a lot of autonomy and I actually respect that in him. The problem is that maybe Frazier and especially Dorsey are not always quite up to snuff.
  4. Actually I think the Finns do have a need. Not this year but when they are cap constrained and unable to resign Waddle who is an UFA after next year.
  5. To me the Bills are comparatively a good organization and McD is a good coach and a good person. I think he cares about his guys. Being a good person is important insofar as player relations are concerned and in that regard the Bills have pretty much been without public controversy and focused on football throughout the Beane/McD era. They are entirely a professional outfit. I think he's a top shelf DC, an excellent defensive mind, but I think he needs help with the offence. What he needs is an experienced OC to whom he hands over the reins. Dorsey might be talented but his inexperience seems to show itself often enough relative to play design and play calling. His product sometimes seems unsophisticated in comparison to the best of his peers and one has to wonder whether he is making the most productive use of the talent at his disposal (JMO but I think maybe not). In the best case scenario he gets much better over time as he gains experience. In the worst case he just doesn't have it. In either case time is of the essence re the Josh Allen window. Ideally of course the Bills would have gone out and tried to hire a currently more accomplished guy assuming one was available, but the Bills tendency to hire from within limits the accessible talent pool. Ideally you go out and hire the best guy. Not sure the Bills do that. Maybe their concern is that if they have never worked with a guy there is a risk of functional disharmony at the senior coaching level and that of course could possibly be disastrous. To me though that's a risk that you do your best to manage through due diligence and then otherwise you absolutely take that risk. There is no substitute for talent. Right now I'm hoping that Dorsey will prove to be that guy over the course of the year. If he doesn't they need to make changes heading into the 24 season. I don't care if Dorsey is Josh's pal.
  6. i did but I dont know what excuse they gave for picking up the flag. There was a flag. Did it just fall out of his pocket?
  7. official told him to put it back on lol.
  8. Burrow loads up to Chase, 67 yard TD.
  9. Will you mean mouth him after he leaves?
  10. I can't disagree but on the rep where Ridley beat Hyde on that huge 3rd conversion I have to wonder whether having Elam man cover him wouldn't have been better. But not setting up 15 yards off the line. In press, like what he's supposed to be good at. I'm not defending him but McD and the Bills are trying to turn into something he's just not.
  11. I guess it's either that or he gets beat off the line. Pick your poison.
  12. If your going to pay a star running back this looks to me a reasonable way to do it. He’s on his first contract which he has outperformed and he’s still very much in his prime. Even there however there is risk relative to the guaranteed amount since he played through injury just last year. Given the hazards of playing the position, what not to do is chase after guys on their second or third contract looking for a big payday.. Look at Dalvin Cook. Looks like hes got nothing left in the tank. Who would have thought. The only RB who seems to have been worth the costs of acquiring him is CMC.
  13. Hardest hitter. Earnie Shavers of football. Interestingly saw Gronk saying Brandon Spikes was by far the hardest hitter he ever faced (or played with presumably).
  14. And with his passing a page is turned in history. RIP. My money says they get it right in 2024. If their FO can't do that they need to be strung up to a tree with a lit bomb in their mouths.
  15. Well I do agree it's hard to fix stupid. But again I don't think he'd be a threat to the Bills locker room. To the contrary if he f'ed up he probably be lucky to make it out of the locker room alive.
  16. Traded for an shipped by who? Oh yeah, the worst FO and team in the League. I sure would have been upset if the Bills had given #53 for him. But for nothing? He has an attitude problem. Lacks effort amongst other things. But if he ever gets his head straight he's definitely a starting caliber NFL WR with elite physical traits. Bills certainly don't need him but just maybe could have used him. I don't really care that they passed on him. Right now the Bills are probably the best team in the AFC and with SF one of the two best in the League. So I'm nor criticizing the Bills' brass here.
  17. Really. I don't think he has the ability to ruin the Bills locker room. Its just not that fragile. Bills are not the Bears. If he didn't shape up he'd be kicked to the curb immediately. Meanwhile he's a talented guy.
  18. I'm with the second part of you. Would have cost next to nothing to PS him. The guy needs to get his head straight but he had a good rookie year with a declining Ben and since then has not played in a good offence or with a good QB. Maybe Josh (and Diggs) could have helped turn him around. Dolphins have looming cap issues and we may not be in a position to resign Gabe.
