  1. One concern is that if Jests have decided to tear it all down hope they don't screw everyone and send Breece Hall to the Chiefs
  2. Frankly, aside from protecting our own position beating Mahomes Sunday improved our chances of not playing them twice this year. Chiefs at 4 losses and have challenging games coming up. I hope they get buried.
  3. I watched the game with my son and 15-month-old Grandson. He needed help as his wife had to scramble to get a flight out of town today. So, I hopped in the car and drove the hour to his house. Nice day for just the guys watching football. My son laughs because I get so down on McDermotts D, the D Time-outs, etc I used very "colorful" language after the 4th and 17 play in front of the toddler🤣 My son reminded me..."Dad, it's Mahomes".
  4. I was at NBC for 35 Years and I remember as a young guy in the 80s sitting in Meetings with Teddy Nathanson, the over EP for Football When NBC had the AFC Package. They' be divvying up the tech requirements for the "A", "B" and "C" games 2 to 4 weeks hence. Trump and Criqui were the B or C game usually and he'd be tossing the options around of which game they did. I met Trumpy a few times, a good guy who made the transition from player to TV pretty well. It's harder than it looks. A lot of these guys tried and flamed out early. Rest easy
  5. What's Andy Dalton's charity again? I need to make a contribution
  6. Missed PAT. Why can't we have nice things?
  7. I went today...then drove 6 hours post game back to Westchester. Wasn't on the boards as I was there. So haven't drilled in to the chatter here yet I am still mystified about the clock management and play calls near end of game. Yes Bills were up by 2 scores but ... Had a chance to run a running play, get it down to 2 minute warning, then kick the FG after the 2 minute warning. Why ?? Bothered me the entire way down. This game had "Any Given Sunday" written all over it. Would have sucked to make that drive after a loss.
  8. Nice not worrying about Xtra points on every conversion/PAT
  9. Having worked at one of the Networks for decades, knowing people still inside there and in the league office I can tell you that the League discourages criticism of the referees by their "partners". It's even tracked and logged. The Networks/Streamers, having paid for the games are well within their rights to say what they want. But everyone wants the keep the relationship good. Criticism on every broadcast, even a regional "C" Game is noted. If the failing is egregious then there is no choice but generally the NFL wants the broadcaster to tamp down on all but the most egregious errors.
  10. I've avoided sports radio, reading stuff online, and anything related to the Super Bowl. An occasional peek at these boards and I refocus towards Baseball and the rest of the Hockey Season. I'll turn on the TV at 6:30, and root for Saquon. As a downstater tough to root for any Philly Team Still disappointed obviously. Josh winning the MVP and the love/respect shown for him across a lot of the Country let alone WNY has eased the pain a bit.
  11. If that game lasted another minute Rams would have beaten Philly. Still holding my nose and rooting for the Eagles
  12. In decompressing from this lost opportunity and reading everything across all internet platforms, the NFL has a huge credibility problem. And not just from this game. Yes, there are trolls and defenders of the Chiefs out there, but a significant majority of "likes" and comments I see everywhere are in agreement that the Bills got screwed. Yes, my coaches always said don't leave anything in the hands of the refs, play better. And Brady got taken to the woodshed, etc. But whether they get all the calls or not, most people believe they do. Perception is reality. It just sucks.
  13. Shocked at how easily Saquon has been busting these long runs this playoff year. Too easy, so think we would have had some problems with him. Think Philly D would make Josh/Cook claw for every yard much like Spagnola. Would have been as close as today's game, although the coaching imbalance would have been less prominent. Could easily lose to them. Josh is better than Hurts by mile but our D would likely have given up a lot of points. We'll never know.
  14. I've shied away from the boards and SIRIUS Radio Talk all week. It will be what it is and I'm trying to maintain an even keel. I have pulled every Bills totem I can find out and placed it prominently around the fireplace and TV. The Bills garden gnome, Whisky Glass, Highmark Stadium Sno-globe, coasters...and of course wearing my Jersey and Bills sweats already. I can't enjoy game 1 today waiting for 6:30 to come. Remembering that this was supposedly a "step back" and cap-clearing retool season.............I'm optimistic.
  15. So long ago...I remember the reactions from a big weekly work football pool. You are correct. I looked in the FB Database and see this was 11/29/98 which is pre-Big Bill. I see Vinateri "run" at the 15M Mark after time expired. Consequently Pats won by 4 and the line was 3.5 I didn't like Pete Carrol either 😂
  16. Watching in front of the fireplace at home in Croton on Hudson, NY. I thought about making the drive but decided to watch from my cocoon. However, I am maxing out on all my Bills totems....The Garden Gnome, Whiskey Glass, Cooler, Stadium Snow Globe, my Billss sweatpants and my Bills Jersey.
  17. I recall when hoodie and Pats ran it in unopposed for a 2 point conversion, many gamblers were either ecstatic or very upset.
  18. Not Bills or AFC related at all....but I'd love to see Mike McCarthy stick it to Jerry Jones. Guy was left dangling after Sunday and a lame duck all year. And Jerry refused to let him speak to anyone before his contract expires next Tuesday. Guy is a good, but not great coach who did a decent job with a terribly constructed, injury-plagued roster this past season. Has won a Super Bowl. Has a very good career W-L record. Jerry always looking for attention and holding court in Dallas. I'd love McCarthy to stick it to him and walk.
  19. I know a few Eagle fans in the triple cities. Some of them who date back to Concrete Charlie.
  20. Caught that. Nice to see. Getting that team into the playoffs was quite an accomplishment.
  21. I was at Shea for OJs record breaking game. 14 years old and with my Dad, who wanted to beat the traffic and leave . I think I was colder there that day than at any winter Game I've attended in Orchard Park
  22. Giants missed out on him because Tommy Cutlets won a few games for them last year, lowering their draft position....LOL
  23. Looks like he's going to present a problem in coming years. Teams will adjust but I suspect he will too.
  24. Because CBS is in a terrible bind Sunday for AFC Games. At least the Bills in the 430 Window provide Josh Allen. Most of the AFC Teams worth watching are playing Thursday night and Saturday on other networks
  25. Beautiful prose !!! Thank you for for making me feel like I was there!
