  1. Outstanding post. Thank you. I'm 65 and the older I've gotten the more I fully appreciate the coaching/systems angle. In Hockey, Footfall, Basketball. One reason I prefer college hoops over the NBA. The players come and go annually (moreso now with NIL and Portal), but the same coaches and programs are consistently good, It's the team and system...not the individuals and good coaches and programs instill this. Football differs a bit in that the QB is such a unique position, but we're lucky to have a 5 star guy. Am I the biggest McD fan? No. But I concur with the overall sentiment in this post. We were in a worse position age and cap wise than our competitors, and this past draft is a reset. I'm fine with it. The Branch Rickey quote is still one of the best sports quotes over for GMS "Better to move a player a year too early then a year too late"
  2. Too bad IMO. Simm's show with Chris Russo on Sirius Football Fridays is a must listen for me and part of my Autumn weekend ritual. I like Phil. The Phil / Boomer dynamic is perhaps an inside joke for people down here who are more exposed to them. I have it on good authority that they are pretty good friends. Being in NY Metro area and originally from LI Boomer has become a bit of a blowhard on WFAN. Like....Carton went to Jail and Boomer in the mornings got worse. I've cut ties with FAN. All Sirius now.
  3. Have not, but this week has raised my interest level. Will most definitely watch it. All this weeks discussion has triggered a lot of memories of that entire evening. Chaos in the control room. Some wild conversation and as always...a few laughs. TV talk.
  4. I worked at NBC for decades. Lots of rememberences on the NBC retiree FB page about OJ this week. The general consensus was he was very liked by crew and production in the 80s. He live big and generally treated people well. Several though have mentioned he could be a different person outside the workplace. Some funny stories about his antics on the road with Ahmad Rashad and the Production folks. But also, etc instances of berating Maitre D's and Valets. 2 people who would be in a postiion to know said they say him being pretty nasty to his wife at times: shoving her into a limo, yelling at her on phone, losing his temper etc late 80s and early 90s. I never really dealt with him myself but trust the word of the guys who mentione this. I worked 4P-12M shift the night of the Bronco Chase . NBA Finals Game 5 was at Garden. Fascinating being in that control room. NBC had the NBA, Ebersol was all over the place talking to the News Specials Unit. News and Sports were fighting it out had no idea what to do, so they went with a split screen of the game and chase. Was so Jarring for the NBC people who knew OJ. a real WTF moment.
  5. This guy is harder to kill than Rasputin....
  6. Peter King mentioned something interesting on Chris Russo's show yesterday about Reid and his play selection/designs. He sat with Andy after the games and said "He's won xx amount of games....but he didn't want to go home. Didn't want it to end. He loved talking about the game just completed" Bills and Chiefs have played each other 6 times past 4 years. Andy decided to dig into his playbook and pull out something Chiefs ran when Alex Smith was the starter. It's the play Kelce scored on. When Reid proposed it Kelce loved it and they worked on it all week in practice. Kept it under wraps until an opportune moment last wee Great post by the way. Thanks. I'm 65 and have been trending that way for a while now.
  7. Hating this CBS Pre Game Package of the game at Arrowhead....uggg Got to erase this today Got to
  8. Why go for 2 there? Mind boggling. Don't care what Collingsworth thinks.
  9. I’m more upset about not running to get it down to 2 minute warning Cascaded into a bad outcome
  10. Gotta think Pete Carrol going to end up someplace. Has LA history with USC
  11. I've loving Lenny on this team. Always liked him. I sense a big moment coming from him
  12. Nice!! Love your comment comparing the Harty's return to Taron's 101 Yrd Pick Six a few years back. I felt exactly the same way. A jolt of energy out of nowhere that sparked the team. Once Dolphins went 3 and out on next possession I felt very confident.
  13. Great question. Contractually, games have to be on over the air TV in a teams home market. Would think that applies to playoff games as well.
  14. Shades of Tarons 100 YD + Pick 6 against Ravens in the Playoffs a few years ago. Electric and totally unexpected. Wow!!
  15. Titans D not losing their man on these tackle. Crisp. Something we aren't used to from Bills. Feels like Bills miss a lot of tackles and allow those extra yards
  16. Blpwsmy mind that Steelers were doormats in late 60s when I really started watching football. Chcuck Noll comes in 1970, Cowher then Tomlin and thats it. MEntioned this to my wife yesterday and she couldn't believe it. Thats 53 years. And Tomlin hasn't finished below .500 since he got there. Respect. Well...at leasts its snowing there so I can get that nostalci warm fuzzy feeling watching FB in my cocoon in front of my Fireplace, indoors with the remote and finger food. 8:20 can't come fast enough
  17. Same here. I've gotten shoutouts all over the country. And beyond. In Iceland last year and In Prague, Munich this past summer. The Iceland people were american travelers, but these were Czechs and Germans in Europe.
  18. All I'm hearing on Sirius Sports talk radio this week about the MVP Conversation is Lamar, maybe Tyreek, Tua or Mcafferty. That Dak and Purdie have fallen outof the conversation based on the weekend. Crickets about Josh. Not a peep. I take nothing for granted and these are still ifs, but if Bills win this weekend, Dolphins lose to Ravens enabling a game for the Division the following week and Josh plays well, and delivers the Division title he has to jumpback into the conversation.
  19. Of the current Stadia, Highmark/Ralph/New Era/Rich etc I've attended the most (and I live downstate in Westchester- Usually attend at least 1 game per year) For all it's warts I'll will be sad to see it go. Met Life- Awful in my view. Sterile, ulgy, really tall. Liked Giants Stadium a whole lot more which was more like the old Arrowhead...total greed was only reason to replace. Lambeau once. Saw Bills get shut out there in Josh's rookie season. Epic weekend experience and a must for any Lifer FB Fan. Tour, Museum, Welcoming fans, and still a bit neighborhoody like Orchard Park although the Titletown thing is changing that somewhat. Jerry World 4 times (Daughter unfortunately a fan, we do Dad-Daughter trips) Obnoxiously big and actually pretty difficult to move around within..the Concourses are labrynth like and traversing the stadium inside can be confusing. Lots of changing levels just to move any distance IMO. For a dome you'd think it would be louder. IMO (and I'm biased) Buffalo MUCH louder and more hostile to visiting teams. Also parked in the middle of the Sun Belt Hellscape between Dalls and Ft Worth (if you go to a game there..stay in Ft Worth. Actually very enjoyable compared to big D IMO). Seattle- Once-Loud as hell. As new Bills venue looks to have a roof covering most of seats leaving field open, it looks similar and would think it will hold in the noise. Of the long gone places, Old Soldier Field (Historic and imposing) , Philly (Dump), Meadowlands, Shea many times (Talk about Cold) and my Dad took me to last Giant game at Yankee Stadium so I could see it.
  20. I'll sign up for Lake Erie Championship Conference and Super Bowl right now
  21. Yes....I replied earlier. Been Drinking since 3P 🙄
  22. I'm going to. Driving up from Westchester for my annual game. Haven't been to a 4P game since Saints in 2009. What time does Hammers open for a 4P Game? Last few years I've parked in lots with some other people but not meeting them this time. LAst Hammers was 2019 for me.
  23. Sorry Guys....I've been drinking all day LOL
