Holy collagen. Yuck.

I watched American Idol for years. Then stopped for years. Then watched it again for a couple years. It got too staged for me, so I let it go. I have been watching the Voice for the past couple years and I enjoy it. Talent is far better than Idol and I like the judges and the format. Moat importantly, they don’t give any air time to idiots just looking for attention.

Most teams can’t say that after 5 years.

A nice first step would be for McDermott to take some (any) accountability. Outside of Daboll’s departure due to promotion, McDermott has fired/forced out every coach around him. From 13 seconds, to 12 men, to the plethora of idiotic red flags and time outs, to inexplicable benchings that hurt the team … he’s not once raised his hand and said - “yeah, that was on me.” If we were year tow or three into this regime, I’d be giving McDermott the benefit of the doubt. But we are not. We’re on the other side of a decade. There is one common denominator not wearing pads on the sideline.

This is winning.

I guess this all boils down to what will define this as successful. If he contributes to one World Series championship season, will that do it?

He’s got to continue doing what he’s been doing for years in order to become the GOAT. Playing as many games as he does, I can’t see his body holding up enough to continue pitching and hitting at his current levels for very long. I’d love to see it. I just don’t.

There’s likely friction on every team. The difference between the McDermott situation and the Daboll situation (and the situation for most other teams) is that McDermott has had a top 3 (easily) QB for years and has nothing to show for it.
