1. Have to agree, probably in the minority here but count me amongst those that believe that the great teams of Marv's era were in spite of him, not because of him. Polian was the real genius in getting so many talented players. JB did a good job retaining them.
2. IMO the main problem with MW's injuries is that he is too heavy for his legs to support the demands of the game. If he can get in shape/lose weight I think he can still be a force. The motivation for this has to come from within, not from Marv or anyone else. This off season is critical, Mike has to be the one to decide if he wants to turn his career around.
3. The good thing about having so many holes to fill is having options. If 3 of these guys are available and you can find a team willing to make a deal within the next 5 picks, roll the dice and trade down hoping 1 will still be there when you pick (especially if you only trade down 3 spots). If only 1 (or 2) of these guys is left, run don't walk to the podium and take him!
4. Does anyone know of players that have come back successfully from Spikes type of injury? The only player I can think of who had this type of injury is Marino and he was never the same after it. In spite of the heartbreak of of the Patriots, Panthers, and Dolphins losses I'm really quite encouraged about the prospects for next year. The team has played well but always found a way to lose. While Losman is still making mistakes he has vastly improved from the beginning of the year and at least seems to be learning from his mistakes. At least he doesn't look lost anymore. With Houston's third round pick we'll have 4 picks in the top 75 (give or take) and get Takeo back. Just not sure if he will be the same.
5. Last year the Bills tried at least one of the plays from the movie. Bledsoe was walking off the field in disgust as if the was going to take a time out, then the ball was hiked to Mcgahee. Didn't really get much out of it as I recall. Seem to remember another play from the movie was used at some point during the year but can't recall what it was.
6. ... Take the safe/smart pick (Fox,Cottrell or the second time Weiss) and things would have been a bit different I think. 527190 If he felt compelled to take a chance wouldn't have minded having Marvin Lewis instead of GW. Seems to have turned around the Bungals.
7. The tackle we coveted in 2001 was Kenyatta Walker, though he was still on the board when we traded the pick to Tampa Bay, who picked him. If Marcus Stroud hadn't gone one pick earlier douby we would have traded down.

9. Any insights would be appreciated. 48 years old, bachelor, but when I visit friends they tell me I have been sleepwalking. Last night was the first time I have ever woke up in a different place then where I went to sleep. Think it's getting worse. For the most part it seems to happen when I drink. Don't drink at all during the work week but I'm probably a text book "weekend" (ie binge) alcoholic. If you know anything about this would appreciate your comments.
10. 48 years old here. Do rigorous cardio 6 days a week, mild to moderate weight lifting 4-5 times a week. Drink heavily at least once a week and moderately twice more. Eat pretty healthy most of the time. Weigh what I did in high school. Don't know how you maintain your weight without working out, but you got to find a way to work it back into your routine.
11. 48 years old Put a lot of effort into everything I do drink twice a week work out six days a week Still have six pack abs Still get hangovers twice a week. Best cure for the hangover is vicaden(?sp)
12. Great site, kind of surprised Tom Cousineau didn't make the list.
13. Don't forget we also got San Francisco's 2nd round pick in 1980 which we used on Joe Cribbs, who had a few good seasons for the Bills before bolting for the USFL.
14. ? Leon Gray retired in 1983, was not part of Eric Dickerson trade. Gregg Bell was.Leon Gray
15. Holy cow, look at the time. Gotta get to the gym. Did we lose an hour somewhere?
16. Agreed, he makes way to much to have a good second half of the season.
17. Do what you want at center and with the left side. Please don't mess with the right side (if it ain't broke, don't fix it!)
18. Here are the 2nd round draft picks for the past 15 years that the bills have had a pick in that round (no second round pick in 04 or 89) 03 Chris Kelsay 02 Josh Reed, Ryan Denney 01 Aaron Schobel, Travis Henry 00 Travares Tillman 99 Peerles Price 98 Sam Cowart (no first round pick) 97 Marcellus Wiley 96 Gabe Northern 95 Todd Collins 94 Bucky Brooks, Lonnie Johnson, Sam Rogers 93 John Parrella 92 James Patton 91 Phil Hansen 90 Carwell Gardner 89 No first or second, Don Beebe was the bills first pick, third round 88 Thurman Thomas (no first round pick) 88 amd 98 with no first round picks the scouts found studs in the second, didn't do bad without a first or second in 89 either. It looked as though we wouldn't have a first round pick in 03 until a pre draft trade sent Price to Atlanta for their first round pick. Collectively the scouts get an A for their first picks in those years. For the remainder of the second round picks its a generous C. Hope they do as good a job this year as in the others that we haven't had a first round pick. For those who don't remember the bills traded the 88 & 89 first round, 89 second round, plus Gregg Bell for Cornellius Bennet. The 98 first and fourth round picks were traded for Rob Johnson (thanks for the reminder). The 03 first round pick was traded for Drew.
19. April showers bring May flowers 294032 Just as long as April drafts don't bring any more Erik Flowers
20. Exactly. Once the season starts, somone's starting running back is going to get injured. At that point Henry won't be a big hit to that team's cap and will fill a need, should be worth a second rounder.
21. Went to the game with my father on his 73rd birthday (that makes today his 87th)
22. Great game. Thought Iowa blew it not taking the time out after the next to last play, but it worked out okay.
23. Bill's hat, Bill's beer coozie, and what I thought was the receipt. "Steve O, take another look at the receipt" - ticket in the Paul Mcguire section to Sunday's game!
