  1. I was thinking the same thing about the EV industry...
  2. I've never owned one😊
  3. Seriously Irv? The microwave oven? Let me tell you about the microwave oven. It was invented in 1947 as the radar range. Throughout the rest of the 40's and 50's barely anyone owned them. You know what else was extremely low at the time? The divorce rate. In the 60's and 70's microwave ownership began to pick up. What else did? Bingo, the divorce rate. Microwave ownership steadily rose through the 80's and 90's, then started to level off at the turn of the century. That's right, the divorce rate followed the same trend. If you look at separate graphs of both since 1947, they look eerily similar. Coincidence? I think not!
  4. I feel like it's the Polish Mardi Gras or what many countries refer to as Carnaval. The rest of the Roman Catholic world feel like they should spend a few days celebrating as they are going to be giving up stuff for 40 days for Lent. We Poles feel like we just gave up stuff for 40 days, time to let loose and celebrate.
  5. Let's start with your definition of a socialist: A socialist is simply someone who advocates for an economic system in which the workers own the means of production through mandated worker cooperatives, Actually, a socialist is simply a person who advocates or practices socialism. What then is socialism? According to your definition it is an economic system in which the workers own the means of production through mandated worker cooperatives Actually, socialism has more to do with government owned means of production than worker owned. It is defined as follows: :any of various egalitarian economic and political theories or movements advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state : a stage of society in Marxist theory that is transitional between capitalism and communism and is distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done There's much more to break down in your post, it's Easter, have to start cooking, I'm going to end it here but add that there is a lot of area we agree on, or at least find middle ground. I recently watched a 7 part documentary on John Adams from 2008. Something that stuck with me was a scene from the first Continental Congress. In it, Ben Franklin shouts that "There is no room for anyone here that isn't willing to compromise." We don't see much compromise from our politicians these days.
  6. The egg roll party, which is celebrated on Easter Monday (which us polacks refer to as dyngus day) has been around since 1878. Each first family puts their own stamp on it. Apparently the Biden family stamp is to take religion out of Easter. As Irv would say, what a mess.
  7. Pretty sure cops will still be allowed to use the hip drop tackle without penalty.
  8. I freakin' hate seeing 3rd and 20, a defensive holding call away from the play, the defense holds, but wait, that's a 5 yard penalty, automatic first down😡 If defensive holding is 5 yards & automatic first down, offensive holding should be 5 yards and automatic 4th down! And don't even get me started on the late flag in the Bills/Chiefs game where the replay showed the chuck was within 5 yards and before the pass.
  9. So sorry for his loss.
  10. Can't be any worse than the investment advice my ex broker gave me...did I mention he's my ex broker?
  11. re Chuck - 2009 re Irv - Kidding of course
  12. This is a good starting point, shows there are things we can all agree on. As pointed out on another thread, I myself agree with Chuck Schumer's views on immigration: "Illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple." "Illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who enter the US legally." "When we use phrases like undocumented workers we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration. If you don't think it is illegal you're not going to say it. I think it is illegal and wrong." If we start with fixing things we all agree on, the rest can be worked out. Not sure we want to know, given the story about the body in the Highland Park Reservoir.
  13. Lot of experience here as well, 67 now, been seeing chiros since hurting my back playing volleyball at 39. This is pretty much all you need to know. This and what Boyst says about avoiding the neck adjustment.
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdAyn89hFIo How far the democrats have come in 15 years. I agree with almost everything none other than Chuck Schumer said in 2009. In these 2 minutes he uses the word illegal 10 times. Some highlights: "Illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple." "Illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who enter the US legally." "When we use phrases like undocumented workers we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration. If you don't think it is illegal you're not going to say it. I think it is illegal and wrong."
  15. On cape cod in June and July, without Daylight Savings Time the sun would already be up for 20 minutes.
  16. Outside of the New Year's day 1989 playoff game against the Oilers (no, it wasn't the comeback game,) the best thing about the 80's is they're over.
  17. Good luck!
  18. Actually we did, one of only 3 NFL games to end with a score of 5-0. One was in 1927, with the Buffalo Bisons on the bad end of the score, the other a little more recent, 1970.
  19. Who's on first, didn't realize he was a Dr.
  20. My favorite...best scene in the movie (I use the waitress' last line every time one of my friend's orders a fruited beer) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a7a2N_cv5U
