Good clarification. Wasn't aware of that rule as I had thought of the exact same strategy. I guess I should get some sleep....

I guess then that's the test on how great of a head coach McD can be? A great leader can also make bold decisions on change that is clearly needed. I definitely agree w/ this thread on going after Fangio and launching the next level of growth for this team
-
Well the starter for the previous few years had been Tyrod. If you don't believe in that type of QB as "the Man" then it makes sense to cross off LJ.

This... plus the percentages only calculate to 18%

This feels like the poll about when Tribusky will enter the game against the Jaguars.... moderators, please shut this down

Though his drafting w/ Raiders was marginal at best

Wow, I was just reacting to what I thought was a flippant tweet when I started this thread. But then......

I think Belichick may be calling him the Angel of Death today. I think it was about to come out during his post game press conference....
-
I think the connection is that he's so deadly out of structure and can still destroy defenses despite some poor play calling

Not a bad nickname for Allen.....

Bills' Spencer Brown fined $5K for celebrating TD with fan's beer

it will be forever an epic pic and in my opinion well worth the fine he incurred! -
This headline! WTF! They should loss their job!

If this is correct, then whoever posted this did their job perfectly and is unlikely to get fired -
If anyone wants to say the NFL isn't rigged, please re-watch that game

I am a bit surprised that there isn't some 3rd party referee grading system. If you think of all the advanced stats that PFF, Next Gen Stats and others have developed where we know the degree of separation each WR had on each pass attempt, why hasn't some grading system on officials been developed. This is a yearly complaint. If we went back into TBD history, there would be threads in most years about how the refs have never been worse. Seems like the best way to put some sunshine to this topic is to be able to track officials on penalties called (what kinds, how often, in what game circumstances), missed penalties and so forth. It would be a popular set of stats.... -
Working the refs is a long-standing QB tactic

You mean the way we've seen Antonio Williams run?
-
Is it worth seeing if Antonio Williams should get a shot?

Yes -
corrected

It wasn't meaningless to Belicheck... he's LFAO the whole flight back I'm not suggesting that's solely why they lost. All the other criticism of the team above are correct. But coaches are supposed to give you a strategic edge, particularly at home.

What wasn't a factor? The decision on the coin flip? It certainly was if you watched the 4th quarter.
-
Stream of consciousness

I was away from the TV as the coin flip was happening, but heard announcers say that we deferred. Did we in fact, win the coin flip, choose to defer so we get the 2nd half kick-off and thereby let the Patriots pick that they would play with the wind in Q2/4??I said immediately at the opening KO on my group chat what a mistake this was and that it may cost us a close game. How on earth does McD not make a strategic adjustment in his approach to this critical decision when the whole game was about the wind??

I am not a ESPN fan but Steven A had it right
cage replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
No flame... Stephen A is netting it out perfectly -
I don't like his vaccination position, but I think I have to agree with @Virgil. It seems like he wouldn't be that hard to replace, but has he says, nobody's shown they can do it. I think we ride out the contract to the end and he goes after 2022... either retires or isn't re-signed.
