Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?
OldNMBillsFan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Statistically speaking, the Bills receiving group was at least top 10 in almost all receiving categories. Being that the Bills were more run heavy last year, and successful at it, there were far fewer attempts than most teams. They had 329 passing attempts placing them in 27th, with 3938 yards 17th in the league. But when they did pass the ball, they were more efficient than most teams. They averaged 12 yards per attempt, tied for 5th. They had 30 receiving TDs, tied for 7th. 56 20+ yard receptions, tied for 5th. 11 40+ yard receptions tied for 5th. Had a 55% chance of first down per reception, tied for 9th. Amazing stats for supposedly being the weakest group in the NFL. -

Those stats don't sound like nobody could get open to me.

If I remember correctly, Josh badly hurt his wrist on his throwing hand during a tush push in second Quarter in the AFCCG against the Chiefs. -
Bills 28th in draft capital spent on WR’s since 2020

Here's a breakdown of the top 4 players with the most passing yards since 2020 1- Patrick Mahomes 22,940 2 Josh Allen 21,271 3 Justin Herbert 21,093 4 Jared Goff 20,839 Looks like whatever they are doing is working, especially when you consider the weather in OP in December and January. -
Since 2019 the Bills have played 9 playoff games that were not against KC, allowing only 19.2 points per game and having a record of 7-2. Since 2019 the Bills have played 4 playoff games against KC allowing a whopping 35 Points per game and an 0-4 record. The problem with the Defense is against only 1 team. It's significant, over a 15.8 point game swing.

I agree, they were more concerned about partying than winning. If I remember correctly, Marv did try to put a curfew on the 4th, but all the players joked how they got around it.

The combined stats for Jim Kelly's 4 games in the Super Bowls. A 56% Completion Rate, 2 TD's, 7 INT's and a whopping passer rating of 56.9. I would say it's hard to argue on why the Bills didn't win any of those games with Kelly's performance in those 4 games.

I agree, but IMO the defense is not as bad as everyone says. Since 2019 the Bills Defense is number 2 in points allowed per game, Baltimore is number 1. Go Bills!!

Let me get this straight. The OP is quoting Monos, a man that was partially responsible for the drought. I couldn't give my season tickets away to the games I couldn't make it to starting in the month of November because his teams sucked so bad. During his tenor with the Bills his teams never made the playoffs and only had a winning record one year. He gets canned, In comes McDermott and makes the playoffs his first year with the low talent that this man was responsible for. Then, Bean and McDermott draft the most important person in Bills history. A selection that was criticized by numerous so-called experts including many on this board saying that they selected the wrong Josh. McDermott and Bean can do better, and I am sure that they would say the same. But quoting this looser on McDermotts and Beans failures is a joke. Can't wait for preseason. Go Bills!!!

Bills scored more points than any other team this season..

It's not like the D is in shambles since 2019 like some of you are making it out to be. They just suck against the Chiefs and in the playoffs. Since 2019 the D has been solid as far as points allowed per game. 2019 #2 in league, allowing 16.2 Points Per Game. 2020 #16 in league, allowing 23.4 Points Per Game. 2021 #1 in league, allowing 17 Points Per Game. 2022 #2 in league, allowing 17.9 Points Per Game. 2023 #3 in league, allowing 18.3 Points Per Game. 2024 #11 in league, allowing 21.6 Points Per Game. I think having 4 seasons in the last 6, amongst the top 3 defenses in the league is pretty darn good. But it is perplexing on why they allow KC to score over 30 points on them every time they meet in the playoffs. Since 2019 the Bills have played 9 playoff games that were not against KC, allowing only 19.2 points per game and having a record of 7-2. Since 2019 the Bills have played 4 playoff games against KC allowing a whopping 35 Points per game and an 0-4 record. That just seems strange to me. Does Reid have a spy in the locker room and only uses him in the playoffs? Is McDermott too predictable against his old teacher? Or is the old rumor about the Ralph being built on an ancient Indian burial ground true and the Chiefs will always get the best of us in the playoffs? Von Miller is a disappointment, Bean swung at the fence and missed. That along with some key injuries have hurt the D. Changes do need to be made, but IMO they are not far off from getting back in the top 3, as long as Milano can stay healthy. As always...Go Bills!!!! -
For the last 5 years there were 13 playoff games for the bills, the D has given up an average of 21.5 points a game and the O has scored an average of 26 points a game. For the last 5 years, KC has played 15 playoff games. The D has given up an average of 23.1 points per game and the O has scored an average of 27.6 points.
