  1. its a pretty exciting time to be a Bills fan, that's for sure. And you dont get the feeling that the front-office meddlers, the paperwork guys, have any influence anymore.
  2. I hope they sign Locker. And I just threw up in my mouth a little. Happy? If not Locker, I hope its Bradford. If not Bradford or Locker, we're screwed. I see Cassel being cut before the season starts if we get one of the above. And I love Tuel. Moxie! ------ by the way, in the interest of full disclosure, I opined in another thread a couple weeks ago, that they will only bring in QBs who can beat EJ in a competition. I was wrong. I hope they arent done yet.
  3. Lupati was talked-up in these here parts for a few weeks. But it really slowed down Which is fine, because recent reports suggest he struggles in pass-pro, and his body is breaking down. PASS. Vernon Davis? Fine. doesnt move my needle either way. I guess we could use some veteran maturity on offense though. McCourty / Revis? I dont want to break the bank at that position. I know Rexy needs good CBs blah blah blah, but that's because he couldnt generate consistent pressure by only rushing 4. Welcome to the Buffalo Bills, hope you enjoy your stay. Adapt and overcome (hat-tip to the U.S. Marine Corps) without "shutdown" corners and spend the money elsewhere. David Harris? Seems like a fait accompli. So be it.
  4. I think he listed them in numerical order. And NOT in the schedule order. Still, its FINE work, sir. And adds a lot to the discussion on this here board. I see the Bills, as currently constructed, being overmatched against New England (x2) and Dallas (even w/out DeMarco). But I'll take 13-3.
  5. I think "ground and pound" is, in someways, code for "mask the QB's deficiencies." And I dont want to turn this thread into yet, yet, yet, yet another EJ post. (for the love of god). To me, it just means "we'd like to be able to run the ball well, and do it in situations when they know we're going to run." Which is what all 32 teams want. ------- And I agree. This is NOT the same old Bills. When I look at the Jaguars or Raiders or Browns, I see the old Bills. When I look at Whaley, I see the new Bills. And I like it a lot.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rexy likes his LBs to be downhill Thumpers. Kiko, even if he put on 8-10 more pounds somehow, is not a Thumper. He's a "move" LB.
  7. duh. Move Wood to guard, and put Kujo at Center. Its so simple.
  8. And Crabtree? No way in hell. Lazy, Old, Stupid, Slow, and with all that, for some reason, Diva. I think your post was more to encourage discussion, than to present thorough research. But hey, that's what a message board is for. Cheers.
  9. truly not to be snarky. But in THAT market, $2.5MM is hardly a "mansion" In alabama, its a mansion.
  10. Me too. And I live in LA And according to CJ Spiller, his name is Willis. at 00:28 http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/0ap3000000476213/Spiller-reacts-live-to-McCoy-to-Bills-trade-agreement
  11. ooooh. Good point. Because, if he wanted Mariota, he would be trading into the #2 slot.
  12. Well reasoned post. But I think Rexy wants thumpers. Kiko, even if he put on another 8-10 pounds, just isnt the thumper type.
  13. under. no QB = no points. sorry
  14. Can you dredge up 26cornerBlitz? I saw in another post that he is missed around these parts. I had forgotten, but now that they mention it . . ..
  15. Some front-office type said a couple years ago that, the only reason you target a Big receiver is because your QB is not accurate, so he needs the WR to be able to grab errant passes, with his longer arms, bigger hands, higher jump, etc. (psst: this is why regular-sized WRs get pissed when they hear that their team wants bigger WRs. Regular guys think "get open and catch the ball, no matter how tall you are" and "maybe we need a better QB instead of bigger WRs."). So are we saying that's what we need? (And i think we do, and precisely for those reasons). ugh.
  16. So what you're saying is, yes?
  17. Not only that, he's a good radio personality, period. And, you never know, when listening to Max & Marcellus, if Marcellus is "hydrated" (read: drunk). He has admitted several times in the past, during the show, that he's hydrated, and if you listen often enuf, you can tell. And its still good radio. He claimed a few months ago that he was giving up alcohol. Claimed it for a few days in a row. Then never mentioned it again. Still a good dood and a big Bills fan.
  18. This could be a reason to sign Cassel. To drive down the price for a real-ish QB. To be able to say "we dont need [Cousins], we're just feeling out whether you'd take less than yesterday to move him." Then bring Cousins and Cassel to camp, never intending to keep Cassel as of opening day, so his contract wouldnt be practically guaranteed. Then re-sign Cassel in week 2 to backup at a much lower cost, because he knows the system and its too late to catch on anywhere else. In Whaley I trust. Edit: In Whaley I trust. Edit: In Whaley I trust.
  19. I agree with this. New posts are usually made by people who think they have a novel idea (think again. And when you're done thinking, think one more time), but dont want that scintillating idea buried on page 12 of an existing post. I can understand the feeling. Not sure what the solution is. Thoughts? Because we all know that most visitors to TBD will never slog through every post if its longer than about 1.5 pages. They just jump to the end and post their knee-jerk reaction to the OP's topic.
  20. i think we read the same article. But you're not quite right. The CAP FLOOR is for a 4 year period. And the article said that a few teams are not at "average" at this year, which is the half-way mark. So those teams have to spend more in the next 2 years in order to be sure they are at the floor by the end of the 4-year period. Also, if a team is not at the floor after 4 years, the team pays the difference to the NFLPA.
  21. . . . to expect even that is crazy. NFL teams dont pay for potential anymore, unless you're a draft pick. "talented" or "underused" or "misused" dont cut it IF you have a WIN NOW mentality. I'm glad he didnt sign it.
  22. We are not fuggin around. We are trying to WIN. NOW. Doesnt matter whether I (or any of us) agree with all the moves. We should all agree that our attitude is correct. Compare with the attitudes so far in Oakland or Jacksonville. Commitment to mediocrity.
  23. He cant "refuse." He has a contract, the Eagles own it, and the Eagles can trade it. His only recourse is to either Refuse to report, or to Retire. At this point, with a week left before finalizing it, I expect Whaley to include language in the deal for the situation where he doesnt report.
  24. And now, Cassel. the QB competition will be like watching 2 kindergarteners fight. Blindfolded.
