Yeah. Its not like CJ uses inside blockers anyway. Snark aside, this is good for CJ. A team that will use him right. And I'm happy for him. And happy its in the NFC. Just in case.

At what point would you make a move for QB?

Since the consensus is that 2015 is weak, both at the top and overall, I'd be happier to get more pics for 2016. -

Raiders money troubles are pretty serious
maddenboy replied to dpberr's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Consistent with the article, Mark Davis cant afford to fire McKenzie. Davis cant afford to pay off the guaranteed cash for McKenzie PLUS pay millions to the next guy. He doesnt have it. Like I said, if he loves the Raiders, sell it to someone who can actually afford to make the team relevant again. -

Why doesnt Mark Davis just . . . sell the team? Clearly, he has no money. Clearly he likes playing the role of NFL owner. But dood, the emperor has no clothes, and we can all see it. -
yeuh. Dat real nasty-like.

Kiko provides inside look on trade, via NFL.com
maddenboy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. Also, I always had the nagging feeling that the FO, and especially Whaley, felt the same way. It felt like the FO made a dry, obligatory statement when it happened, and then they TOTALLY moved on from Kiko. Imagine if Dareus or Mario popped an ACL. You'd be getting weekly updates from the FO. Kiko, notsomuch. When I heard Kiko was traded, I thought maybe Whaley had been looking forward to getting value for Kiko. Either that, or the Bills sensed that the rehab wasnt going well, or wasnt going to end well, and nobody but Chip Kelly would pay for Kiko anyway. -
Sorry, but that was the weakest episode i've seen. I love the show, and I love McCoy, but it seemed like the show was trying way too hard.

Doug Whaley and Russ know about TBD

I think this is why the poster named "Roger Goodell" is really an NFL intern who is paid (or not) to monitor the site. Because the "Roger Goodell" posts always sound like newspeak, without any snark. (only your hairdresser, or SDS, knows for sure). -
Dangit. I was gonna chime in and thank OP for not saying spousal "assault." Because an assault is a threat to commit a battery. These guys go all the way to physical force. But "assault" sounds so much gentler. For these crimes (same with "sexual assault,") we should call it what it really is, and not soften it one bit. perfect.

I think you got this a little backward. Cobb didnt stay in GB because the offense is great. He stayed because, with a Franchise QB, the whole team is great. And because of that, they have a real shot at the superbowl every year. If this hits home with Hughes, he's probably a goner. Unless his only suitors have sucky QBs.

Bills, McCoy agree on new 5-yr contract
maddenboy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It shouldnt need to be cleared. Its not tampering. mcCoy is not a free-agent. And I'm sure he has permission from Philly to git'er done asafp. -
Sanchez in talks to return to Eagles - update: signed
maddenboy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Possible problem for Philly. Heard unsubstantiated chatter on local sports radio here in LA. That Philly cant assume that a move to 6 (Jets) will get Mariota. Cleveland is lurking at 12. And they also have #19. They might package it up and move to 4 (raiders) or 5 (redskins) to leapfrog Philly, since those teams are not taking a QB. Neither is Jacksonville at 3. The Texans might be in play also, perhaps sending Andre Johnson and a pick. -
Dood, its a done deal. As in, they negotiated, reached agreement, and both teams informed both players and their agents. And informed CJ Spiller, who was scheduled to go on Live TV five minutes later. You havent heard a peep about either side denying it openly or through unnamed sources. The OP is vindicated, in his idea that Kiko was tradeable, that OBD might consider trading him, and that another team would give up solid value (although obv not a franchise-type QB). And at this point, if the trade doesnt happen, it will be about money, which wouldnt invalidate the OP's idea. I'll give propers where propers is due.

Guess the Bills Free Agent Signings
maddenboy replied to Buffalo Destroyers!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
(psst: please notice that he didnt just spell it "Lupati," like many of us, but "Loopati." He is going out of his way to demonstrate that he is consciously misspelling it. Also, please read a few other posts and notice how many of us spell it "Lupati." I understand if you dont come 'round here every day (because there is such a thing as working all week), but "Lupati" has become a tongue-in-cheek, generally accepted alternate spelling. And its kinda fun) -
Yeah, that was pretty awesome. And nice way to work in "pell-mell." English is a cool language. More Americans should learn it. ---------- And to the thread topic, I'm not sure when I actually "decided" it, but Salary Cap stuff doesnt move my needle anymore. I cant remember the last time, if ever, that the Bills were in salary cap purgatory. If we're ever close to being forced to cut guys because we cant afford them, then I'll pay attention. Carry on, Doug.

I actually . . . am slightly more inclined . . . against every fiber of my being . . . to like not hate be open to the possibility of Cassel. Any dood who would do a commercial with F-bombs is cool with me.

Anyone else worried about the defense?
maddenboy replied to die hard bills fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Possibly, by specifying SS, he is suggesting that we might have 2 on the field at one time, with one in a hybrid role. And no, McCoy is, in no way, a mild upgrade THIS year. He is a colossal upgrade. -

w/r/t Locker, I dont see it. 2 reasons. 1) Locker = Cassel. (Locker is probably a tad better, but he cant play 16 games). 2) (as another poster noted), if you bring in 2 below-average starter quality guys, you pretty much have to jettison EJ. w/r/t Lupati, I hear his pass-pro sucks. w/r/t Cutler, I think this could seriously happen. Because he is above-average starter quality (when he feels like it), and Cassel would be a competent backup who might could possibly might could actually maybe win the job in camp. Which would suck because of Cutler's guaranteed money.
