Maybin can make plays, but he can only do it one, very specific way and the play needs to be designed to promote him making the play. The Jets operate their defense in that way and are able to accommodate that.

I find it especially amusing that the people decrying Merriman when so many wanted the Bills to sign every aging free agent on the market. I also wonder if the people who think this is Buddy Nix talking even doubt their own opinions after being alerted to the fact that it was not Buddy Nix. It also seems to show how many people don't pay attention at all.

Wait, what? We knew the defense was going to be a problem which is exactly why they have been upgrading it. You expected the defense to be solid this season? If that is the case, I think you may want to dwell on what lead you to believe this..

He's been the 'QB' of the defense. He's been diagnosing the blocking schemes and making the on field adjustments.

I think he's going to start him because he's seen that he's got nothing in Grossman and may as well find out this season if he has anything in Beck.

I just fail to see what firing him right now actually does..I don't think firing him and letting Wanny takes over makes a dramatic improvement. In the offseason, sure, but do you think he's ignoring input from the other coaches on the team? I don't think the Bills defensive strategy changes with firing Edwards.

I have an axe to grind with bad journalism. This article should be in journalism text books as an example of awful. I know there's a lot of people with an axe to grind with the Bills and that somehow makes bad journalism acceptable to them. I'm sorry that you disagree and think this article is a good example of Journalism.

It just sounds like the writer was trying to cash in on the 'Ralph is cheap' lemmings. One quote from somebody involved with the Bills on the matter would have gone light years towards making this respectable journalism.

This article leaves something out... "The sponsor that left was the Buffalo Bills. Kozak assumed the team was in for its usual portion this season, which amounted to a sixth of the budget, but they weren't. He found out a week or two ago." They did not reporting on this. No reason why the Bills are out...no one from the Bills commenting. I assume there is more to the story that the reporter didn't report on for some reason. I guess the Jerry Sullivan school of reporting is churning out graduates.
