Edit! McKenzie is back on a 2 year deal worth 4.4 million
Malazan replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I doubt this price has anything more to do with than the WR market. Robby Anderson is making over 14 mill a year for ~50 receptions and 500 yards. There's several other guys in that price range with similar stats. It's WR3 money. It has to be suspected that McKenzie will be WR3 whatever the contract. -

I hope the biggest decisions you are responsible for is deciding whether to ask if someone wants fries with that.. ...scratch that. That might too big of one. -

Cole was already gone. It has no bearing on it. Awesome deal for McKenzie considering what WRs are getting now. -
Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in DE Chandler Jones
Malazan replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's pretty vague, but my assumption is that it's about dropping into coverage. It could be about more minute details, but given the prevalence of defensive ends dropping back in modern defenses.. it seems like a safe bet to me. -
Their problem isn't that they didn't a contract done, it's that there's significant reasons to not get one done.. No way I'd give Baker a new contract. I'd be (and it seems like the Browns are..) looking for his replacement. Not only does their offense not count on throwing it.. when the game needs Baker to start throwing.. it doesn't end well. He can play well when the offense is moving through the running game. It's a lot easier to play QB when you're getting 5.0 ypc from your backs. I remain steadfast in my belief that having a middling QB is worse than a bad one because you can easily dump the bad one.

Bills interested in signing Rob Gronkowski, per Tim Graham

oh.. the things I have put a dent in while drunk.. -
Why? They can cut him at any time. They gain nothing except making you feel better by doing it now.

People don't seem to grasp that the Bills meet and talk about a lot of players they may never trade for.. they need information even if they're not likely to actually make the deal so they can gauge the market on other players.

Khalil Mack traded to Chargers for 2nd and 6th round picks
Malazan replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think he's washed. I think his production is not commiserate with his salary, contract term and age. I'd rather put that money towards Jones or Ogbah. Mack and Ogbah average roughly the same amount of sacks. I'd rather overpay Ogbah at 20-25 per for the next 3 years than Mack at 20. Ogbah could actually raise his output and has been more consistent the last 3 years. While still very good, Mack is clearly trending down. -

Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade

Hurt Beasely is the only Beasely anyone is getting now. He was hurt in the playoffs last season too. He's going to be 33 in about a month. -

Knox got the 20th most targets of a TE1 in the league. Sweeney got the 29th most targets of a TE2 in the league. If they want to change that... they need more than Knox (Engram or no Engram)

I doubt the Bills problem would be the trade compensation. It's the contract. He's nearly a 20 million a year cap hit for the next 3 years. He's 31 now so I'm not sure he doesn't qualify as geriatric. He had less sacks than Addison did in 2021 for that cap hit. I'd rather pay 22-26 million a year for a younger option if they want add a high cap hit player at the position. -
Berrios made 2.25 million and seems to be looking for around $4.5 on a multi-year deal. I think he's just about the ideal person for the Bills to bring in for the 3rd receiver and any special teams role he can fill. He Hodgins, Stevenson and a rookie drafted somewhere can go at it.

Braxton Berrios 2020 55 Targets (114th) / 37 Receptions (113th) for a 67.3% catch percent. 394 yards (120th) with a 10.6 yards/reception and a long of 43 yards. 224 YAC. 3TDs. 2021 65 Targets (87th) / 46 Receptions (84th) for a 70.8% catch percent. 431 yards (109th) with a 9.4 yards/reception and a long of 46 yards. 246 YAC. 2 TDs. I think people overrate Berrios based on his actual production. However, he will be going into his 4th year and has been improving. Watching the Jets, he was their best player on offense several games through the year. His stats based on his targets are comparable to 2021 Beasely. He seems like a player ready to step into a bigger role. I'd certainly be willing to bring him to compete for for the #3.
