I'd say it would be requirement if I was in charge to have someone from the 'other side of the ball' working with the coaching staff in some capacity. They can get away with it, sure.. we're talking about trying to make the NFL a thing over there and that's not gonna happen with a couple scrub teams once a year. I think Levi gets undervalued a great degree on here, but he's a tough player to value appropriately because he's very solid in many aspects, but has a couple ways he can be exploited. He can't be the number 1, but he's good guy for #2. Someone will likely pay him 9 million, but I don't see how the Bills could afford that for him when a rookie or one of the younger players can likely assume the role without a monumental difference. Let's just hope they've upgrade Tre White to an adamantium skeletal structure.

Yes, but I'm sure people around the league have similar questions on if a guy doesn't call plays and doesn't install the game plan.. things typically handled by the OC is he really the guy to be in charge? I think it's rather out of the norm that the OC doesn't do EITHER of those things.

That's my point. I'm not even trying to be crappy to Bieniemy, but he's never going to get a HC job until he either starts calling plays instead of Reid or he goes somewhere else and has success. Mahomes says he loves him, but that's not enough to be trusted with a franchise.

I came across it on Chiefs Planet, but Kafka did an interview with Chris Vassuer and talked about his responsibilities with the Chiefs and he said that he breaks down the opponent and installs the plays they want to use for that opponent each week.

How has he been 'instrumental'? Kafka developed the weekly game plan and Reid called plays so if you're know something no one else outside the Chiefs seems to know.. could you tell what, exactly, he does?
