I don't think it's really the same in the NFL as your regular sort of job. There's a lot of guys working for guys that used to work for them. If you have a problem with it, you'd have a hard time finding a job.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's stipulated they have to be injured by the time they get there.

It started for some people 2 months ago

I'm not entirely sure that's an upgrade. Cooper gonna hate Mayfield by week 3 too.

Surprised not hearing more Bills restructures/cuts

Dorsey leaving for the Giants was a 'given' for many on this board. -

It was a real shame that we lost Dorsey too. -
Edit! McKenzie is back on a 2 year deal worth 4.4 million

Good news. I've checked with my sources and McKenzie's contract does not have any stipulation saying that the Bills can not sign or draft any more wide receivers. -

I'm assuming they sign somebody in addition to Hodgins/Stevenson and they draft someone. I will say, if they obtain a solid 2nd TE, maybe they forego the mid-tier vet. I'd expect them to have another WR3 type of guy besides Mckenzie regardless of what they do in the draft. -

You think the success rate for 100 receptions on a career gets better the lower the round? That's a bold take. You are saying this rookie would replace McKenzie. That means they need to perform right away. I think you should take a minute and collect your thoughts and what you're trying to say. -

I'd suspect they sign a mid-tier veteran (Fuller) or young, promising guy (Braxton Berrios) -

Amazing that you'd make a claim of stupidity here... Beasely took 691 snaps in 2021 which is more than he had in 2020 and 3rd most in his career. Beasely was targeted 112 times in 2021 which is the most of his career. His yard/reception was the lowest of his career. His YAC was the lowest of his career. He had the fewest TDs (1) of his career (Rookie season when he didn't play excluded). His YPG puts him somewhere in 50th/60th among WRs. It seems that you want it to be about something other than football. Not the other way around. -

given the draft failure rate of WRs, I think you're still off base. Using the '100 career' reception marker (a low bar), only ~25% of WRs in the 1st round are successful. So if there's 5-10 guys who *could* be developed to reach that mark (as you yourself say).. and those 5-10 guys are all drafted in the 1st round.. You're going to 1.25 to 2.5 guys reaching that level of success. Braxton Berrios reportedly returned down 5 million a year and believes he'll get much more. Many of you need to reset your minds on NFL player compensation. Of course, I'm being unfair here as McKenzie still needs 1 more reception to get to 100 for his career. -

32 teams with only 5-10 guys coming out each year when there's say 2 positions for them to fill with an average career of less than 3 years... ... the math wouldn't be on your side in this equation. -

I doubt this price has anything more to do with than the WR market. Robby Anderson is making over 14 mill a year for ~50 receptions and 500 yards. There's several other guys in that price range with similar stats. It's WR3 money. It has to be suspected that McKenzie will be WR3 whatever the contract. -

I hope the biggest decisions you are responsible for is deciding whether to ask if someone wants fries with that.. ...scratch that. That might too big of one. -

Cole was already gone. It has no bearing on it. Awesome deal for McKenzie considering what WRs are getting now. -
Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in DE Chandler Jones
Malazan replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's pretty vague, but my assumption is that it's about dropping into coverage. It could be about more minute details, but given the prevalence of defensive ends dropping back in modern defenses.. it seems like a safe bet to me. -
Their problem isn't that they didn't a contract done, it's that there's significant reasons to not get one done.. No way I'd give Baker a new contract. I'd be (and it seems like the Browns are..) looking for his replacement. Not only does their offense not count on throwing it.. when the game needs Baker to start throwing.. it doesn't end well. He can play well when the offense is moving through the running game. It's a lot easier to play QB when you're getting 5.0 ypc from your backs. I remain steadfast in my belief that having a middling QB is worse than a bad one because you can easily dump the bad one.
