Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind is very good. I'll second Dark Tower and First Law trilogy as well as Guns of the South by Harry Turtledove described above. Song of Ice and fire is excellent but I'd avoid it as it may never get finished. Just started reading the first book in a series called The Destroyermen by Taylor Anderson. It is a pretty unique story about a WW2 destroyer that somehow ends up in an alternate Earth where evolution went much differently. I am really enjoying it so far.

Anyone ever play Axis and Allies? It is like an advanced version of Risk but a WW2 simulation. Used to play it a ton back in the day with a group of friends. Sometimes we would have to leave the board and come back to it but it was always a great time even if a long game to get through.

Agree with most of the responses in that a move is highly unlikely for many reasons. The biggest to me seems like it would be a huge "cut off your nose to spite your face" situation for the Pegulas. I might be wrong but I feel like the vast majority of Bills fans who are still in the WNY area, or spend a lot of time there, would strongly boycott any business the Pegulas have their hands in. I wouldn't even attend concerts at the arena anymore if it could lead to one extra dollar going into their pockets. Bills mafia are well known for their generosity but also shouldn't be underestimated when it comes to holding grudges. Just ask Bon Jovi. 😀

Voted Bar-Bill out of those choices. The way they brush on the sauce instead of shaking them keeps the wings from getting soggy and is a really unique wing presentation. I used to think Big Tree was up there as the best too but I have heard from friends that live in OP that it has gone down hill a bit since new ownership took over. For me though the top place I have to hit if possible every time in town for wings now over the last few years is here: https://www.route78streetbar.com/ They have a signature wing they call Bradford style. Kind of a dry rub which I usually don't go for but these are absolutely delicious.

Used to play Halo on Xbox with a handful of Bills. Xbox had a promotion where you could game with McGahee one night so I added his gamertag to my friends list. I couldn't get in that night but he continued to use it because I saw him online a month or so later and joined his game. Once there I saw a Law36 and Jburns gamertag in the game as well. I assume there were some other Bills or NFL players in the game too as most of the people playing seemed to know each other and were constantly talking smack back and forth but they didn't have obvious gamertags. Milloy must have added me to his friends list after that night because I would get invites to his Halo games all the time after that and played with that crew a bunch of other nights. Milloy was decent but most of the other guys weren't great. Definitely the only time in my life I could say I was able to compete with NFL players and win most of the time. 😁

Holy crap! I couldn't even give my preseason tickets away in 110 a few years ago when I still had them. Nice to see the season ticket holders finally getting some value out of those preseason tickets now after being held over the coals on those for so many years.

I have done ~30 a handful of times, of course it was a planned run and jump. If she slipped and fell she likely hit the edge or side on the way down or went in head first at a weird angle.

This is a great idea. They also need to scrap the black out BS. If you are paying for all the games you should get ALL the games. The traditional cable model is only a generation away from being obsolete so assuming people can just watch MNF on ESPN or catch whatever is on their local channels is going to be a poor assumption soon. The entire idea of paying to watch all of the games for a lot of young people going forward will be that they don't have traditional means to watch the normal broadcasts. The NFL needs to get ahead of that.

This all makes sense and I'm sure it will be some flavor of your thoughts. I would just hope that over the years inspections would start to show some signs of failure in situations like these. Regardless it is a pretty sad story.

How does something like that happen in this day and age? Has to be some serious negligence somewhere behind this.

Highmark stadium cleared for full capacity
Metal Man replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's true. When I was looking for tickets for the first couple games on ticketmaster and secondary sites there didn't seem to be any big gaps where nothing was available but that is just a small observation. Guess the only way to know for sure is if after this announcement there were suddenly a bunch of tickets available for the opener again but I personally never bothered to check. -

This whole thing is kind of confusing. They sold out games at full capacity before this announcement so what would have happened if suddenly they couldn't be at 100% capacity? How would they decide who drew the short straw on suddenly losing their tickets to the opener? -

I think it was in the Schedule Release, or a Tickets thread, where a couple of posters mentioned seeing the 10:30 thing on their tickets somewhere. I got tickets for the WFT game and didn't see anything about lots on there but they are digital so maybe some people had physical tickets? In any case I hope it doesn't turn out to be the case because you're right in that it would likely cause all sorts of logistical issues with crowds and traffic. Regardless I am just excited to be able to step onto those hallowed grounds again. 2020 was a great season but it was also torture to know myself or any other Buffalo Bills fan was not able to be there to witness it in person and celebrate together. -
CFP considering expansion to 12-team format
Metal Man replied to YoloinOhio's topic in College Football
That definitely could be the way it goes ultimately and likely will be the way it goes in the short term. We will have to wait and see how it looks 10 years from now if they adopt this format but to me it seems like there is a good chance that if you get another 4 or 5 teams making regular appearances then maybe more recruits will choose one of those teams for a better chance at playing time then to be the second guy off the bench at Alabama. Then from there it could trickle even further down. Obviously all theoretical but I'd prefer giving that a shot than keeping it how it is. -

Yeah, I can't imagine they would try and ban it in any way. My thoughts were more towards the Bills owned lots and what changes there might be including the later opening time. If the 10:30 lot opening for a 1:00 game turns out to be true it eliminates those lots as an option for me and a lot of people I would think as that isn't really enough time for a proper tailgate. -
CFP considering expansion to 12-team format

Some good arguments from both sides on this. There will no doubt be some playoff games that turn out to be laughers which won't add much on the entertainment side. However I think it is worthwhile to give some of these smaller programs their shot because even though they will get smoked more often than not in the early years of this format there is a chance that the recruiting field will even out a bit as better talent filters down to other schools once they can start using 'x amount of years' in the playoff as a recruitment incentive. Could take a while but will be worth it in the long run if it evens the playing field a bit which would definitely add more to the entertainment side of college football as a whole. -

Anyone heard anything on or off the record on tailgating? I know some who have gotten tickets for the upcoming season mentioned that they noticed the Bills have changed the lot open time to 10:30 now instead of 9. If that turns out to be true it sounds like a push to force more people inside to spend their money instead of eating/drinking their own stuff outside. -
Nice to see them struggle a bit but the reality is this is June. Now if we see throws like that from their QBs after September 12th, that will be a cause for big smiles.
