  1. I didn't like that he was laughing about it. Literally cost the team a 1st down there. He better cut it. Prob laughing because he never thought it would happen. Now it did. Time to cut it.
  2. Imagine how good the D would be if we didn't lead the NFL in % of drives ending in 3 and out. I think the D is top 3 as is, and would be the top if it had ANY help from this terrible offense.
  3. I agree. Allen needs to sit (like Mahomes did) and learn. Mahomes was allegedly "raw" coming out of college--similar to Allen. Let Anderson play and Allen can learn from a vet. Might also expose what WR's are worth keeping around next year or not.
  4. exactly. Who is going to want to play v. the Jags in London w/ that tax bill. One hang-up. If someone pays your taxes for you, that amount is then taxed as income (at least under IRS rules)
  5. explain I agree. I think it depends on whether the coaches see progression or regression. If regression, they bench him so he can learn by watching. If progression, no need to pull him.
  6. Just Win Baby!!! Ugly, or not. I'd take ugly over a high scoring loss any-day.
  7. This is a totally conclusion statement, with zero evidence. I think the plan was for McCarron to be the vet, until he stunk. Benching him does not mean he's done in Buffalo.
  8. It's not the end of the world if it happens. Mahomes, who was thought to be "raw" coming out sat for a year, and is now tearing it up. There is something to be said for having a "raw-ish" QB learn by watching and talking to the vet who is on the field. It would also demonstrate how bad the WR's are, or aren't.
  9. OL is bad in FA. Some interesting WR's, RB, and perhaps others. We are going to have to draft well on the OL.
  10. that's why I think it has to be for a 1st. You sell it as: (1) getting a great return; and (2) letting Shady go 'home'. If you get a 1st, I think everyone would understand that's a win. Anything else, clearly a "white-flag" on this season.
  11. Graham was good when here. A good depth guy if he is a FA. But I've been impressed with the young guys we have brought in for the secondary.
  12. (1) Allen does need to develop; but (2) the supporting cast sucks. Allegedly #1 WR KB looks disinterested. Zay Jones looks interested and is improving. Clay had a decent game. Allen will improve as the season goes along. I'd just tell Allen to trust the play call and put the ball where it is supposed to be. If the WR does not get there, that's on the WR. Eventually we will get a more competent supporting cast. It's also hard for a rookie to perform better when he hears footsteps because the OL is jelly. And I was a "don't-draft" Allen type prior to the season. But some of the takes on him so far have been ridiculous. National media at one point says we have the worst WR and O-line group, and then another outlet says that is not holding Allen back. Simply laughable.
  13. exactly. the way some people act, Watkins and Woods are A.B. and JuJu.
  14. You only do that if you get the right return. Eagles are desperate. Shady showed last game he still plays as well as any RB in the NFL, even with a rookie QB and teams looking to stop him. I want a 1st. Shady also seems to love it here, and love being a mentor to Allen. Great point. You give Shady to the Eagles for a second, you are really getting a high 3rd.
  15. I think Edmunds and Allen are great examples of why you WANT to move up. We also got T. Johnson (CB) later in the draft and H. Phillips. Those 4 guys look like they may be around for a while. I think next year is different. As you said, there is value in all round, and next year there is good DL, OL (at least top-tire) and WR value.
  16. oh no, when I suggested a 2nd or 3rd round QB, people went NUTS. If JA improves, likely no need for that. If JA does not improve, get a 3rd rounder, and draft OL and WR with the first 2 picks.
  17. this is what a young QB needs. Get some more help on the O-line and some WR help in 2019 draft and we could be seeing marked improvement. Ivory looked like his old-self yesterday. Reminded me of Beast-Mode on that final drive. Loved watching it. Can't put Shady in a box. If you do, Ivory will break it open!
  18. You can do both. Big Ben was not asked to do a ton his first few years, and in his 3rd year had a NEGATIVE TD-INT ratio. The key for young QB's is to lean on the running game, find competent WR's (we can't do that right now), and let the game speed and decision making catch-up to the QB. Even Rosen didn't do/wasn't asked to do much yesterday because Arizona remembered they have D. Johnson. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RoetBe00.htm
  19. I do like that Josh recognized the WR's were covered and sailed it over KB.
  20. kid is a gamer. Even his stupid-mistake INT came from wanting to win. He'll learn to throw it away when he needs to and risk it when he needs to. I like Croom also. Kid is big with hands and gets open. With an O-line and average WR's the offense is much improved
  21. that was the problem. But I don't see Watkins helping this team. He'd be forced into the #1 role, and double teamed. And Benjamin can be single teamed as we've all found out. personally upset at the lack of home games early in the season. now I'll be freezing in November/December for my annual trek up. what the heck! Bears game looking a lot tougher after addition of Mack and that offense today, albeit against Tampa D.
  22. I disagree. The guys they unloaded would not be major parts of this regime. They had large/bloated contracts or expiring contracts. Watkins: not a #1. Marcell: terrible here for whatever reason at his price. Glenn is the only one I would have kept, unless that got us the pick that got us Allen/Edmunds, which I think it did.
