Bills Open up as 9.5 pt favorite vs Cleveland
RyanC883 replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
i feel like this is posted every week. -
I said there was no rule against it, and that it requires contact in the NFL. Actually read what I wrote. He had poor positioning and was in phase. Period. He needed to turn his head, and he had a play on the ball. Instead, TD.
-
faceguarding IS a thing. Required contact (becomes PI above HS). https://blogs.usafootball.com/blog/691/ask-the-official-face-guarding-in-itself-is-illegal-only-within-high-school-rules Jackson was not out if phase. He simply had poor technique.

if it was Daboll v McD, it looks like we chose wrong. competent v. championship caliber are different. we had a hard time getting hc candidates in the drought due to our roster. I’m not saying can McD right now, but another disappointing end to the season may warrant it.
-
so why did we get gashed in the running game AGAIN in the second half. you are not taught to play the hands. that is a clear way to get a PI at best unless extremely lucky. Turn around, play the ball, and any contact is permitted. What Jackson did was faceguarding.

if we beat crappy teams and have a disappointing playoff exit, someone or all the coaching staff needs to go. Wasting Allen years here. He is not in the league of Seattle’s coach either. He is mediocre as a coach. The Marvin Lewis type. We are trending to being the Marino dolphins if we don’t fix something. Either McD and staff figure it out or time to try something new. we have had adversity. We lost each time. In the past 2 seasons we are LAST in the NFL in close games.

Payton for OC?

the adjustment to stop the run? Better tackling fundamentals, safety in the box. And you only “face-guard” a WR if you are way out of position. Jackson was not.

We’ve lost to teams that are 23-7 on the year

Yeah, I like your point. But it seems there is just something systemically off right now. It’s the system. Why the second half meltdowns? Why is Allen tossing pics in the endzone? Why no running game? Why can’t we convert short yardage? Why do other teams hit long gains on 3rd and 4th and long? Why are we the worst team in the NFL over the past 2 years in close games? Having those players back will help, but I’m not sure will prevent an outcome like today. -
pressure faster, less time for the DBs to have to cover

they can win one playoff type game. KC seems like a massive outlier right now -
poor fundamentals all over the secondary. On Jefferson’s TD over Jackson, Jackson had his back to the ball the whole time

3rd year in a tow allowing a 70 yard plus run I believe. All season the ru. D has been super soft. No adjustment by Frazier or McD.

NFL Week 10 - Vikings at Bills post game thread

I agree, but the turnovers are a bye-product of bad play-calling having all WR in endzone when JA is having trouble throwing it there. -
both were issues today. Play should never have been called, and JA should have thrown it away.

I’m not seeing a ton of knee jerk reactions here. I’m seeing people pointing out why we lost in a manner we have lost other games (poor second half playcalling, etc) and discussing how to fix it. You may not like their suggestions but I would not dismiss them all as knee jerk. (a few may be..for example trade Allen or something—which 0 people have proposed, but not all). we abandon all common sense in play-calling on both sides of the ball in the second half. -

A fair point. I would argue that Dorsey should not have a QB who is missing open guys and instead throwing at covered guys throw the ballin the endzone (where he has demonstrated issues over the last 2.5 games) in OT. what were the bold words?? -

Dorsey and Allen are issues. More Dorsey at this point. Don’t call those plays, Josh can’t turn the ball over. Adjust to how your players are doing is how good coaches win, no one on our staff gets that. -

It seems we have a number of these every game. Sometimes we are able to ein, but in every loss numerous errors. The common theme the last 3 games: 2 half play calling on both sides if the ball, and Josh becoming average. -

fans who don’t care are embarrassing. I don’t see any fair weather fans here. Most people who are upset have invested sig time, money (tickets, direct tv, etc) over a span including the drought years and would like to see some fundamentals done competently. No one here “just” became a fan. That’s fair weather. And no one here is no longer a fan. A fan board is where people go to discuss the team: the good and the bad. If you just want pro bills stuff visit the team’s website. -

Dorsey should be fired ASAP. If McD wont then he can go also -

then lost in the playoffs due to, yet again, piss poor coaching. Think Minny misses Frazier now?
