  1. We Bills fan are naturally suicidal, we come by it honestly
  2. Actually, I was listening to the Eagles radio network for the first half (driving), and their announcers were very complimentary and fair to the Bills . . . basically saying many times, the Bills are the better football team. And lets face it, he does have one of the best radio voices in football. great idea, how do you do that?
  3. Yeah, Pears was the guy who had to block Babin most of the day, and did an outstanding job, as he has all season . . . pretty soon he'll be holding out for that money the Bills were willing to pay Clabol.
  4. And you wonder why I avoided every stat class I could in college and grad school. Still not sure what any of this says, accept that the Bills are first . . . I think that's good, based on the stats and all.
  5. Disagree a bunch! Not sure what your expectations are for the wildcat, but it has been successful 80% of the time . . . first downs, touchdown yesterday. Now, if you expect a Homerun every time, well, then I would suggest to be a bit more realistic. And as far as him taking a WR spot, he is also a back-up QB, special teams player, and WR. That argument is thin. I think his role will continue to grow. Not sure its fair to be down on him yet.
  6. Right, but good coaching is about putting people in position to be successful. So far this coaching staff has taken what they have and given it a scheme with which it can be successful. Moreover, the players have to execute. And this team (especially the o-line) has had the best combination of better than we thought talent, great coaching, and very solid play from all parts (QB, skill players, and the line). If we were built for a power running game, or deep passing game like Philly, we'd probably do that -- but it would be down right stupid to try and do that if you don't have the personnel for it. And, it is silly to evaluate it against those criteria, that's not who we are. The point: There are many ways to skin a cat, we've chosen the one that fits our tools. And its working quite nicely.
  7. yes, I totally agree, aggressive is good, keep it up
  8. that make no sense at all ????
  9. I saw him on one play late in the 2nd quarter where he pushed the Eagles center straight back 10 yards . . . Vick got rid of the ball, but he must have been a bit un-nerved seeing his center coming straight at him aaa$$$$$$ backwards at a high rate of speed. Hopefully he's not out, but if so, Heard will need to step up.
  10. Smith was picked off the Patriots practice squad, or he was cut by them.
  11. I think that is a very accurate observation
  12. Time for Aiken to set up, he looked as good as anyone in preseason - it's his time now.
  13. I say give me a tryout, see if still has any gas
  14. that! understand what's going on fellows--but every once in a while might be OK
  15. I think he does that every week, very underrated by the general public, but I'm confident not by Fred and Fitz
  16. Surpised its Batten, I thought Carrington would be the next up . . . oh well, for Batten, its time to sieze the opportunity. Can you say "Wally Pipp" Chris Kelsey?
  17. Perry Fewell was a better D coach . . . at least he was aggressive, the defense has regressed under the current coaches and system. I say, if we get run (and thrown) all over again this week, time to make one of your courageous moves Chan - fire Edwards, give Wanny the job!
  18. Well, I'm boycotting them too, until they bring back Willie Nelson!!! Period nothing ESPN until I see Waylon and WIllie croning "Luckenbach Texas" again.
  19. What was his wonder lick score? Troy State ain't in the Ivy League.
  20. "If Dalton can run on us ,what do you think Vick will do" . . . that really is the scary part coming into this weekends game. It will be up to the defense to figure out a way to contain him.
  21. Indeed, that is the point. In the words of Marv Levy, an "over-officious jerk" of a call---dude, unless its very obvious, how can you overrule a call from several yards away? Anyhow, its not why we lost, but we could have been bailed out had the bills scored even a field goal on that drive.
  22. I'm with you on this. I think we are hoping that Merriman gets back somewhere close to his former self, but so far, not so much. I think its time to get Moats and Batton on the field, both have shown glimpses of promise, and I think its time to see what they can really do. Can it be any worse then the veteran guys in front of them?
  23. I think Wade is doing just fine, I doubt he has any need or interest in returning to Buffalo.
  24. Its a long season, and there is a lot of chess moves in the course of a season. Cincinnati didn't send extra rusher and dropped more people in coverage, especially against the short routes. The Bills needed to respond by hitting the longer routes, and a combination of inconsistency by Fitz on deep throws, receivers that don't have separation speed, and recievers who didn't make any big catches when needed, led to the demise. However, the real issue with them is the ability of teams to rack up yards. Although much blame should be placed on the secondary, I think some kind of pass rush, including this thing they call "a blitz," would help them. When a NFL QB has time, even a rookie, they will eventually find the open guy--and there will always be one open given enough running around time. One way or another, the Bills have to figure out how to generate a pass rush! The one lesson we have learned from the first four games, although improved, the front 3 or 4, are not capable of doing it alone. So the scheme has to change. Do something, figure out some way of putting at least a threat on the QB.That will help the secondary, which as we've seen, needs all the help it can get.
