  1. I really can't believe there are people on this board saying they would rather have Incognito. SERIOUSLY !?!? That guy is pure cancer to a team, any team! Did you see what he tweeted out the day before the report came out. Showed his true colors. Up to that point, he had said all the right things, but as soon as he was exposed for the self-centered, moron that he is, his true self came flooding out. Come on people, I know all of you are way more intelligent than this clown. Please show it. Jonathan Martin might not be a good fit in Buffalo (although, personally, I would like to see what he could do at a guard spot—to me, I think he has always been more physically suited for that); but, if he can be had cheaply, the risk would be minimal, and the reward would be through the roof. Moreover, I think the character that I have seen from the Bills locker room leaders is pretty high (admittedly, I don't have anything close to an insider view—this is just speculation on my part)—I think, most would not want a RI in there, and if JM proved to be a player whom wanted to work hard and contribute, he would be embraced. But again, put your brains on, protect your own reputation, keep some level of dignity and pride, and don't even think about typing out some lame thing about making the team better with a guy like RI --- he makes no team better, never has, and never will. YES! Character does matter! Thanks Buftex, for restoring my faith in the general decency and intelligence of the folks of TBD sad, very sad
  2. why would you say that? all-in-all, the transition to Whaley was pretty smooth, and I would say, so far so good
  3. Let him in? I think the Mayor Ford has already had him over to the house?
  4. Right? Sure, the Bills are in a position to be making social / cultural / political statements with their draft picks? How about, "I am 110% making this guy a Bills player" if he can really play football and help this team win?!?!?!
  5. never hear of him, me either. here you go . . . Crockett Gillmore | Colorado State, TE : 2014 NFL Draft Scout Player ... Top Center Prospects 2014 NFL Draft | NFL Draft Top Tight Ends | Crockett Gillmore, TE, Colorado State, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com ...
  6. if he can be bought, yes. Opens draft possibilities . . . but the way, when does Free agency start?
  7. Well, its very very early in the process. There have been a lot of good points made in this thread. Here's my take: There are two good things for the Bills and their needs this year: There are at least three, maybe four teams in front of us that are going to draft QBs—and we don't need one. Moreover, I'm not sure I'd draft anyone of them over EJ if he was there. That, of course, is highly debatable, but the bottom-line is, we're not in QB seeking mode, and at least four teams in front of us are. So that leaves us looking at the other five/six best options. Building on the first observation: Not only are we now able to focus on the five best non-QB options, this is a draft deep in talent. Especially at one position we are in need of, an OT. Also, if Watkins for some odd reason does drop to 9 (I don't really see that happening—and, especially if Robinson is already off the board), then I see him as the pick. But, I doubt that scenario plays out, which means I think the Bills end up taking the unsexy, but very needed, best OT they like/want at that point, sans Robinson. The only thing I know for sure: It's going to be a long three months!
  8. and neither would be rated as good picks, for where they were taken and what was gained from them ….maybe we should start listening to Mel and Todd? … then again, didn't Todd say Aaron Maybin was a great pick? …. okay, just Mel
  9. Our starting right tackle is already on the team: Chris Hairston! Next . . .
  10. Really, all three would be good as long as whomever is picked turns out to be All-Pro quality. I think the one big X-Factor in all this is the teams perspective/outlook for Chris Hairston. I think he a quality starter at right tackle, and if they feel he can come back and man that position next year, that takes a high need to draft someone there off the board—and if that's the case, we can look elsewhere. I hope thats the case.
  11. Great work Astro. It appears there are some good option for OT in later rounds, which may move us away from Robinson in the 1st. If that happen, I say a receiver or LB early—either would help the right away, and a solid lineman later, that alone would be a very good draft.
  12. I went heavy on Offense, and usually took the best value guy at a position of need. With one exception, picking Williams from BC at (we was a very good value at the that spot, but not a high need for the Bills, but this is more looking towards the future) …. anyhow, I like him, he reminds me of a young version of Fred Jackson. And if we got Amaro in the 2nd, with Watkins, WOW!!! My ILB were just the highest rated guys at the time, we need to get better there (assuming Kiko gets moved to the outside) And if we could get Fales in the 5th??? I almost went with Robinson (OT Auburn in the 1st), but didn't. That turned out to be bad because it effectively shut me out of OT the rest of the way, there were never any that were close to value of the pick form there on out. In hind site, I should have gone with him, there seemed to be plenty of WRs available each round. 1 -9 WR SAMMY WATKINS CLEMSON 2-41 TE JACE AMARO TEXAS TECH 3-73 RB ANDRE WILLIAMS BOSTON COLLEGE 4-105 ILB YAWIN SMALLWOOD UCONN 5 - QB DAVID FALES SAN JOSE STATE 6 - ILB LAMIN BARROW LSU 7 - G MICHAEL SCHOFIELD MICHIGAN
  13. yes, I had the same thought when I read this. While the rest of your analysis is solid, this point was untenable.
  14. I for one, am not losing any sleep over Pettine going . . . His defense, while exciting with lots of exotic blitzes, gave up a lot of points to good teams, Couldn't stop the run when it was most needed, and He proved his deep lack of intellectual acumen by taking a job with the Cleveland Browns! Why would any NFL team want a guy who wanted to go to the mess that is the Cleveland Browns???
  15. that make sense, because Crossman must have some kind of very special relationship with Marrone . . . how can we explain him still be here???
  16. that site is really annoying, …. am I supposed to be able to make picks? I can't get it to hold still, and when it does, it won't allow me to do anything …. and I'm not paying it any $
  17. in the spirit of Branch Ricky . . . we finished 6-10 before him, we finished 6-10 with him, and we can finish 6-10 without him!
  18. well, the smart ones have avoided Cleveland like the plague … if Pettine goes, maybe just as well, there has to be something wrong with anyone that wants to walk into that mess
  19. Ebron, but I would also be good with Robinson or Watkins
  20. or we could just say, some people (like Bill B.) are smarter than others; and when that plays out in a competitive situation, they do smarter things than the rest of us
