  1. The Bills requested that it be moved back. They draw better for early games (1:00PM) played late in the year.
  2. You'll definitely find yourself in the minority on this one.
  3. Murph & Kelso said basically the same thing, that it was by far the loudest crowd of the year. Non-sellout. Ironic, huh?
  4. Every year they get fellated by the national media (i.e., ESPN) and every year they fall flat on their faces. Another team the so called "experts" do this with is the Deadskins...same result. Before the season started, I didn't believe that either one of these teams was playoff bound. Yet, everyone from ESPN to the talking heads at Sirius NFL Radio was (and is still) fawning all over them. I never have understood the lovefest for the dullfelons. The last time they even went to the Super Bowl was after the '84 season. Next to Atlanta, Miami is the worst sports market in the country, hands down.
  5. Stupidest...post...ever. (And on this board...that's saying something)
  6. Nobody...well, very few...are worse than Bryant Gumbel and Chris Collinsworth. What the hell were they thinking when they selected these two pompous windbags??! It's hard to believe that a professional like Greg Gumbel is related to a jagov like Bryant. And Collinsworth? It just amazes me that he continues to be employed on several fronts. Ugh! Future games might have to be with the TV sound down and the Sirius satellite broadcast on in the background. You are interpreting it incorrectly. The telecast was only available in about 1/3 of possible homes. DirecTV and Dish Network offer the channel as part of their package. Some cable providers, such as Charter and Time Warner, do not at the moment. They're resisting putting it on anything other than a digital sports tier. Operators don't want to pay a per-subscriber fee that keeps escalating because of the inclusion of these games. The cable companies say if they pay that rate, it will more or less mean price hikes for everyone, including those subscribers who don't care about football. Here in Richmond, NFL Network is available thru our cable system, Comcast, if you purchase the "digital tier" level of programming. If you subscribe at a lesser level you're SOL.
  7. I think it's only week 12. Injuries and other intangibles always come into play. In today's watered down NFL, nothing is guaranteed.
  8. HFT, one and all. Here's to hoping it's happy and safe.
  9. Exactly. Much ado about nothing. What a surprise...just consider the source. The 'NY Post' is one of the worst rags in the country. They're even a joke in their own city.
  10. MC, good luck and thanks for stopping by. It's nice to see that some opposing fans can still talk football and not smack. jd, grow up and get some class.
  11. don't mean to single either of you out because you're not the first one's to do so, but i've noticed a disturbing trend lately. someone question's JP they automatically get flamed and labeled a JP hater 819553[/snapback] dev, my reponse is in no way a defense of JP. He has not inspired a lot of confidence this year. But who exactly on this team has? The O-line? Willis? The defense? The (gulp) special teams?? Everyone is frustrated. I'm just tired of all of the mindless posts blaming JP like nothing else is even remotely wrong with this team. If all other areas of the team were performing even decently then I'd have no problem with the diatribe of the JP haters, but they are not. This team is an abomination from top to bottom right now. Fair is fair, that's all.
  12. Very well put, buftex. Like you, I have been out of WNY for years although I do get back at least once a year for a Bills game. I have been a diehard Bills and Sabres fan since I was old enough to remember (I wasn't around for the Bills inception but was for the Sabres). Although I love the Sabres, their success does not ease my Bills pain. I look forward to hockey and give it the full attention it's due around New Year's. I've had a lot of fun following the Sabres early season run and it is certainly nice to have hope for a Buffalo team during the season. But the Bills are still my favorite sports team, hands down. The thing that makes me most angry with the Bills is not their losing but the manner in which they've gone about doing it. They've somehow managed to take my lifelong passion and turn it into borderline indifference. Seven years in a row is waaaaaaaaaay to long to miss out on the playoffs, especially in today's NFL. I don't expect a win every week, but I do expect to see some progress from year to year. I want my passion back.
  13. Your avatar pretty much sums up how I felt after reading your inane drivel.
  14. You're right. From Bills Digest, Vol.1, No. 4 (10/08/06), p.26: Buffalo Bills Player Ticket Program "This year the Buffalo Bills launched the Community Ticket Donation Program with the players and coaches. The program provides community groups and school children the opportunity to attend a Buffalo Bills home game as the guest of one of the Buffalo Bills players or coaches. The guests are given game tickets along with a food and beverage voucher from the players. In recognition of the group and the players' donation, there are banners along the ringwall and an announcement welcoming the guests on the JumboTron. Some of the players who have participated this season include Nate Clements, Andre Davis, Terrence McGee, Peerless Price, Josh Reed, Robert Royal, Aaron Schobel, Anthony Thomas, Chris Villarrial, and Coy Wire. These players have stepped up to make a difference for many kids, bringing a combined total of almost 200 community guests to every Buffalo Bills home game. The program has extended this unique opportunity to community organizations such as Boys & Girls Club of Buffalo, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Buffalo, Northwest Buffalo Community Center, Carly's Club, Stone's Buddies, The Ronald McDonald House, Salvation Army Youth Services as well as many other charitable groups." Some other signs that have been in the stadium include 'Reed's Stampede' and 'McGee's Mob'. Somehow, I doubt that these appreciative kids think these signs are lame or stupid.
  15. He was banned awhile ago. I believe you can still find him over on BillsZone.com
  16. Agreed. The O-line has been a disaster for far too long. I've long been a proponent of 'Mouse' McNally but when is he going to be held accountable? As far as Shelton goes, don't get me started. What a complete waste of oxygen he is...
  17. Not that it makes up for the lack of wins, but the big difference I see in JP and RJ is that JP seems to give a schitt. He's embraced the community and gets the whole Buffalo psyche. RJ didn't. Even if JP amounts to nothing, I don't think that he'll ever be vilified by the masses the way RJ was. He'll just be seen as the last in a long line of failures by TD. JMO
  18. I have no idea what you're talking about.
  19. Agreed. The frustrating thing for me was that it felt like a 'Meathead' gameplan special. McGahee gains 150, yet they were constantly throwing on third and short. WTF?
  20. I thought the answers were: 1) The New England game 2) The Jest game
  21. Link?? You know this how? Because you've talked to him personally? Yeah, I thought so. Cripes, put a sock in it. The fugging fatalist mentality around here is getting ridiculously tired.
  22. I really don't care as long as it's not to LA...or anywhere else out of WNY.
  23. I wouldn't sweat it. Esiason usually fellates the Bengals and Jest when talking about them...always has, probably always will. He played for both and is a NYC guy. The Bills are playing the Jest this week, hence his attitude towards JP. It's his opinion, he's entitled to it...even if he is an idiot.
