The "Official" Bills MNF gameday thread
ExWNYer replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am, if that helps. All of you that have one of your own, feel free to wear yours, too. Will also be firing up some wings and downing several 'Blue Lights' here in the Old Dominion with a couple of fellow Bills fans. LET'S GO BUFFALO!!! -

'Noodle Arm' throws pick Bills secondary for six 'felons lose again -
...Marshall Faulk thinks. Before the game, Faulk picked against the Bills again (surprise, surprise) and his reasoning was "their quarterback thinks he's Batman." Great analysis, dumbass. Yeah, that concussion caused Trent Edwards to misfire on a whole five of thirty passes. Why the fug these networks continue to hire ex-jocks who can't formulate an analysis and back it up with sound reasoning is beyond me. You want to pick against the Bills? Fine by me. But lay it out for me with a well-thought response...not a flippant, childish remark with absolutely no basis. Ugh.

Bill, as you know, this dates back far before the current QBs on this team. Buffalo fans have always had a weird obsession with the backup QB(s). Kelly vs. Reich is well documented but this obsession dates back to the '70s with Joe Ferguson vs. Gary Marangi and even the '60s with Jack Kemp vs. Darryl Lamonica. It seems to come with the territory if you follow the Bills. I, for one, am glad that the team has seemingly found it's heir apparent in Trent Edwards. That being said, I support whoever is on the field trying to win for the Bills whether it's the QB or any other positional player. I think the "need to be right" syndrome exhibited by many around here is absolutely assinine. Do these "fans" want the Bills to win or is it more important to satisfy their massive egos by being "right"??

New to the board, I wanted to say hi to everryone here!!

Welcome aboard. Don't eat the crayonz...they're toxic. -
I don't necessarily think that they wouldn't trade him to an AFC team; however, if all deals are fairly equal, I think they'd be more inclined to send him to the NFC to get him out of conference. I think an AFC team might have to pay a little more. Plus, the Bills visit KC later in the year. The Chief fans (& mgt.) might not be too jazzed to see Gonzo come back and beat them in their own backyard.

What are you doing on Bills bye Sunday
ExWNYer replied to bigskyfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Congrats! Hope everything goes well for the two of you. I'll be doing some yard work early, then heading out for my 6 & 8 year old sons' baseball games, then home to watch some of the late NFL games...followed by a leisurely (hopefully) holiday Monday off from work. -
I didn't say they HAD to get rid of him but they're obviously eager to deal him while he's still got decent value. Next season he'll be a year older and maybe won't fetch as much. There are probbably a half dozen or so contenders who could use him now and might be willing to pay a little more than they would in the off-season. Just my opinion.
-
I don't care what the reports say, KC is not getting a 1st Rounder for TG. Shockey went for a 2nd & a 5th. A conditional 4th (with the possibility to become a 3rd) & a 5th or a 3rd & 6th sounds about right, IMO. The trade deadline is fast approaching. KC can't hold anybody hostage. They're going nowhere anytime soon and they either get some mid-round pick(s) for him or they hold him and gain nothing in the process. I think he'll be dealt and my bet is they try to move him to an NFC team like the Giants or Iggles, even if they have to take a little bit less for him.
-
Really? A perfect fit?? Uh, no. He bitched and moaned when Gruden traded for Griese in the off-season. Afraid of a little competition, Jeff? He doesn't think he should be the backup QB. Sorry, but he's NOT who I'd want behind a young Edwards.

Why oh why has no one asked why oh why

Exactly right. Everyone's a genius after the fact. Hindsight is funny that way, huh? BTW, Winfield wanted top corner money when his rookie contract was up. Although he could hit with the best of them, the guy couldn't catch a cold. -
Excellent, level-headed post (as usual) you giant bastard. Are you trying to not fit in around here or something? Stop playing phone tag with me and maybe we can actually discuss this team, and your very valid points, at length.

I love how Peter King just can't pick us to win this year
ExWNYer replied to marioc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, but everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. I don't give two schits what the so called "experts" say about the Bills, whether positive or negative. Whether they talk up the Bills or pick them to lose, it doesn't affect the outcome of the games. BTW, Keyshawn Johnson is the only talking head I've seen who's picked the Bills this week. -
1) He: "Thanks for the mammaries..." 2) She: "Can you take one with my camera, too? I want to show the team what position to assume when the Bills come to town!"

There's a fine line between prophetic and pathetic. He's the latter. -
Way to jinx it. No more of this. You don't talk about a no-hitter in the third inning, either. Word.

Well, Mangina is from the rotten Belichick* tree.

That's "crayonz"...but then again, that's just another to add to your list. Must be of the toxic variety, no doubt. We should "pull for the Bills to lose". Wow. A new low is dipshitdom. -
You play the schedule the league gives you, you don't get to choose. 4-0 is 4-0. There are plenty of teams who aren't perfect despite playing "pushovers". Just ask Denver or New England*. Hell, Jacksonville nearly let one get away AT HOME to a lousy Houston team. Enjoy the ride for once. Why the fug be such a fatalist?
-
You're all wrong. I had my Mets t-shirt on under my Poz jersey. Once the Metropolitans choked away yet another playoff berth, I rid myself of the bad karma and put my Bills t-shirt on under my jersey. Problem solved.

Could they lose either the Oakland game or the St. Louis game? Sure. But neither of these is a "trap" game. A trap game, in the truest sense of the word, is a game that is followed on the schedule by a strong (or perceived strong) opponent. It's a game where you're looking past your current opponent to the next. If, for example, New England* or even another division opponent like the Jest were after Oakland, then the Raider game would be considered a trap game. St. Louis could be considered a trap game moreso than Oakland IF the Cardinals continue to win, but only slightly. They're an NFC West opponent...hardly the stuff of great anticipation. San Diego can't be considered a trap game either because they follow the Bye Week. If the Jest continue to win, then the dulfelons could be considered the "trap" game. Although they're a hated, division rival, they shouldn't have a very good record and the game is in Miami. The following week? Favre and the Jest.

I got a question for all you suns a bitches
ExWNYer replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
522?? It's pretty up there (very scenic) but too slow with all the lights, etc. I've been that way and this way is faster: 95N - 495N - 70W - 76W (Breezewood - PA TNPK) - 79N (@ Cranberry) - 90E Aldrich's was OK, but I certainly wouldn't call it "a great ice cream place". That moniker would belong to Sullivan's in Sheridan. From the former Aldrich's, head a short ways up 60N and make a right onto 20 (@ the Wendy's on the corner). Go a little up the road and you'll see it on the left hand side. It's a cozy little place. I remember going there as a kid when it was still called Steve's (my dad grew up in Dunkirk). Different name, same great place. Gawwwwwd, I love that place. There are also several outstanding wineries along there. Just follow the green signs with the grapes on them. A few within a couple miles of Sullivan's: Liberty Vineyards, Woodbury, Merritt Estates, & Willow Creek.
