Plummer changes mind and accepts trade...
ExWNYer replied to ExWNYer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're right. The point is, the trade was made and is official. I guess we'll see soon enough if Plummer had a change of heart or whether he'll still retire. -
Plummer changes mind and accepts trade...
ExWNYer replied to ExWNYer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gruden's a whore for QBs. That was really an unnecessary acquisition. Maybe Plummer realized that the trade to a warm clime was better than being cut? -
Denver sends QB Jake Plummer to Tampa Bay for a conditional pick in '08 and also sends their 6th rounder in '07 to the dulfelons for DT Dan Wilkinson, per Vic Carrucci on Sirius NFL Radio (also reported on Denver's website): http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=3...mp;storyID=6604

Clements signs with 49ers, 8 years $80M
ExWNYer replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good. The thought of him in a Deadskins uniform made me ill. I can't stand Snyder and his monopoly money tactics. Good luck and thanks for the memories, Nate. -
Bills sign OG Derrick Dockery, 7 years $49M
ExWNYer replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard it, as well. I really hope they get this guy. The Deadskins really don't want to lose him but shoring up their 'D' is their top priority. Next to Steinbach and Diehlman, he's the best guard on the market. He's young and on the rise and has a wealth of talent. -
They can afford him...they're choosing to not spend the money it will take to re-sign him. Big diference. Buh-bye, Nate. Nick Harper, are you still up?

Seahawks looking to trade Darrell Jackson,WR
ExWNYer replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see it happening. Injury history aside, DJ is still a #1 receiver. -
There's no guarantee Culpepper will ever be the QB he was with the Vikings & Randy Moss. In fact, that seems unlikely at this point in his career. If they want to bank on him, more power to them. Getting him as damaged goods wasn't the brightest move in the world, anyway, and their new regime may want to go in another direction.

Do they really think the dulfelons would pass on Quinn @ #9??

NFL Combine Info. for Sunday.
ExWNYer replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. He had been mentioned as a definite top 3 pick in the not too distant past. He was never "under the radar" and will not fall anywhere near the Bills' spot. -
Cash to cap + rookies or including rookies?
ExWNYer replied to MrLocke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News, the number already accounts for the Bills' draft picks but not the RFAs they intend to tender: "A Bills source said Friday the team has about $30 million in cap space, counting the money they will pay their 2007 draft choices. The cap is $109 million. The Bills probably will spend about $3.5 million on offers to restricted free agents. That puts them at about $26.5 million in space." http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20070...?tbd1013430.asp -
Allen Wilson just secured insider reporter status
ExWNYer replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chuck Pollock has been covering the Bills for years and has been a long-time correspondent for Pro Football Weekly, as well. But hey, why let facts get in the way of your bias? -
There's no indication that you were making a "half joke" but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. You're point is taken but I disagree with it. Just because a player is stuck in a lousy organization does not make him a lousy player. By your definition, you should include the Bills with Arizona so we are not "burnt" by players like Erik Flowers and Mike Williams.
-
Like Larry Centers??? So, if players like Dansby, Boldin, and Fitzgerald (just to name a few) were available you'd ignore them because they played for the Cardinals? That's blatantly ignorant...I'm glad you're not the Bills' GM.
-
That's fine. Let them spend their cash. I'll gladly take Lance Briggs and Ian Scott off their hands.

I don't want to reconsider. Indianapolis 27 Chicago 21

Were the hubcaps stolen off the ol' 'Family Truckster' and "Honky Lips" spray-painted on the side? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Truckster

How do we get the Lord to be a Bills fan?
ExWNYer replied to taterhill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Usually, I can't stand when these guys say that "the Lord was responsible". Like He watches football and can't stand the guys on the other team. But, in this case, I think Dungy and Irsay might be right. After all, we all know that Kraft, Bellicheck and the Paytoilets are Satan's team. I am surprised at Irsay though. Daddy Irsay sold his soul to the devil when he Mayflowered out of Gonorrhea Town in the middle of the night back in '84. -
Riiiiiight...because it's so evident in those posts. It's neither stated nor implied.
-
Exactly. I was thinking more like crow but they can have their choice. I really don't understand the hate for Manning on this board. The guy has always been gracious in victory as well as defeat and is one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. I wish more of today's athletes would exude the dignity and class that he does. I'm happy for him and Bill Polian. At least no "Team of Destiny" or media fellated teams are in this SB.

Well it's Super Bowl time and we're still not in it, so...
ExWNYer replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) Miami - 0 for the '70s, weak fan base, constantly fellated by the media, gay logo and unis. 2) Washington - They're the "local" team, Dan Snyder, fair weather fans, annoying relatives. 3) Pittsburgh - An intangible I can't quite put my finger on dating back to the '70s, Cowher (until recently), why only one logo on their helmet?? 4) Dallas - The whole "America's Team" schtick...arrogant and annoying. Having to watch them every Thanksgiving, fair weather fans. 5) New England - (Just recently passed Oakland on this list), constant knob slobbing of Belicheck, Brady, and Bruschi by the media who treat them like they're the founding fathers of Mensa, nonexistent fans who treated them like the 4th option behind the Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins until this recent Patsy run of success. 5a) Oakland - Al Davis, fans who belong behind bars. Note: NJ Jets were never up there but are rising up the charts due the nauseating "Man-genius" BS. Their arrogant in-your-face fans don't help either....doesn't make sense since they've done absolutely nothing since SB III. -
If there was any justice in the NFL...
ExWNYer replied to rockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a Bills fan, I agree in principle with what you're saying; however, I'll shed no tears for Brian Billick and Ray Lewis. Two of the biggest douchebags the NFL has ever turned out. -
Phil Simms made a fool of himself
ExWNYer replied to Georgia Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your memory must be failing you. The Announcerless Game (Dec. 20, 1980, Jets vs. Dolphins): The Jets were 3-12 and the Dolphins 8-7 entering the final game of the season. With the game carrying no playoff implications, NBC decided to let the sounds from the stands and the PA announcer serve as the sole audio. No players were miked. Dick Enberg set the scene for viewers at the beginning of each quarter and then viewers were taken to the stadium. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9563528 -
Does it really matter? He'll never be up for election anyway.

Ummmmmm...no.
