Charlotte Observer beat writer says...
ExWNYer replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm with you 100% on this. I can't stomach the NBA and, like you, a lot of that has to do with the Braves. I'm a diehard Mets fan and have been my whole life but would have been a Buffalo fan had they had a MLB team. WRT the article above, I can't believe that any self-respecting sports writer (is there such a thing?) would spooge in his pants over the first preseason game. Wow! What a dork. -
Moulds looking good in Texans camp ...
ExWNYer replied to merlin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thank Eric for his contributions while in a Bills uniform. That being said, although I wish him no ill will, I couldn't care less how he does in Houston. -
Thanks for the info, guys.

I was at that game. My wife's father lived in Raleigh at the time and got us tickets to the game. Those Moulds TDs were spectacular! There were several other Bills fans sitting in our section. Near the end of the game some drunken a-hole Carolina fan, stumbling down the stairs, starting slurring at us to go home and that all Buffalo had was snow. Even the Carolina fans told him to sit down and shut up...nothing like shooting off your mouth when your team sucks. Jack, any idea if Sirius streams the games online? It doesn't appear as if they carry the NFL Network online and I can't seem to find any info. I don't seem to be having much success getting reception with the home docking kit. Thanks.

I would take Schaub in a heartbeat but Atlanta won't be trading him. Duckett? In a word, no.

Why the heck wouldn't you play Whitner tomorrow?
ExWNYer replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just how the hell was he a "holdout"?! He was unsigned. Bills management is just as culpable in not signing him on time as Whitner is of not signing. That's the business end of sports and every player on the team knows that. He's signed, he's in...play him and get his feet wet, if only for a short time. -
When did you become a Bills fan?
ExWNYer replied to BILLSBACKERINLA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You must be my long lost brother or something because I can relate to just about everything that you just described. I'm a couple of years older, born in '63...my brother in '66. My obsession with the Bills goes back as far as I can remember...either the late '60s or early '70s. In any event, the Bills were NOT a good team. My Dad is originally from Dunkirk and he's the one who got my brother and me hooked. I distinctly remember playing out on the huge grassy area in front of our apartments in Orchard Park. It was 1971 (I know because it's the only year that we lived in OP), so I was around 8 and my brother was about 5. He and I had home made "jerseys"...my Dad's old white t-shirts that swamped us when we wore them. Mine had the number 16 scrawled on the front and back, in black magic marker, along with "Shaw" on the back for QB Dennis Shaw. My brother wore number 86 with "Briscoe" for WR Marlin Briscoe (I also had an O.J. "jersey"). We'd toss the ball around in our jerseys and toy helmets with the red standing buffalo, pretending to be our on-field heroes. Like you, I also have the commerative coin from the innaugural game. I was not fortunate enough to attend but an adult neighbor gave it to me knowing that it would mean more to me than it did to him. I too have all of my ticket stubs and most, if not all, of those same art posters from the Sunday comics. My pride and joy was one of O.J. from 1974. I finally had it matted and framed in black in the early '90s...it looked awesome. I never had a place to hang it (or the other posters) and was looking forward to doing so in a room similar to the one you described (alas, VA doesn't have many basements, either). The fateful night in June 1994 forever changed how I would feel about 'The Juice'. I still have that framed poster but to this day it is hidden in the attic somewhere and has never been hung up to display. I was fortunate enough to get the card that you described when I was a kid (in a gum pack - sorry) and still have it. I didn't manage to get his rookie card until much later in time at a card show. Like you, the Chuck Knox Bills have a special place in my heart as you can see from my avatar, although all of the teams - good or bad - have a special place in my heart. This team is in my blood...something to which only Buffalo fans can relate. From "0 for the '70s" to the glory days to today, I have lived and died with each season. I wish I had been able to see those AFL Championship teams but at least my Dad has told me all about them. I don't care what outsiders say or think, I wouldn't trade my memories or being a Bills fan for anything in the world! -
Wow, Willis, they feel so real!! You have to tell my old lady who your doc is!

Here's my Training Camp Report from this afternoon

Nice job and great pics! Thanks to you and all of the other camp reporters for your dedication. It really is appreciated by us out-of-towners. -
Camp Afternoon session report - more pics!!

Nice work, Jay. Thanks for sharing! -
Careful when throwing around generalizations, lest you look foolish. I'm also from Virginia (via Grand Island) and have been a diehard Sabre fan since their inception in 1970. Quite frankly, I've lived here longer than I did up there but that doesn't mean I don't know hockey. I know you were trying to make a point to back up your argument but it was weak.

Touche, Madman...but we shall meet again!

Amen! Jerry Rice is painful to listen to, to be kind, and Adam Schein is an anti-Bills douchebag. It's maddening listening to his schtick.
-
No he wouldn't. He's a "me first" player and would be a detriment to the locker room, IMHO. Plus he thinks he's a #1 WR and we have ours in Lee Evans. He wouldn't be any happier here. They won't.

I see you bet the 'over' on these.

Rich, I'm in for both. Correct me if I'm wrong, R. Rich's Buffalo Bills League = 'Posse's Playground' (Yahoo!) & TBD2 = 'TBD 2005' (NFL.com)...trying to keep them straight in my cluttered brain. If those weren't the leagues you were talking about and you have an opening, then count me in...or if I was in last year but have the league(s) wrong, still count me as 'yes'. Give me a call or PM me. Thanks, Ray

LOL! I just looked at that picture again. Look @ Willis' face again and then look at the chick sitting down to his immediate left...it looks like he just fired off an SBD and she just got a whiff!

Your wing sauce and beer-stained wife beater? -
I was thinking the same thing...looks like he's trying to hide a "woody". He's probably thinking, "Damn! Those ain't no Jills behind me..." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.7.html
