  1. I posted this last fall and I stand by it: "I know that bye weeks are a money grab for the NFL by stretching the season but how about making it fair for all 32 teams? Who needs a bye in Week 4?! Teams off in Weeks 4 -10? You really need 7 bye weeks and a weakened slate of games for nearly two months?? Here's what I would do and the league still gets its precious extra week: - Four bye weeks starting in Week 7. This ends the useless, early season byes and gives everyone a truer "half season" bye. - There would be two entire divisions off in each of Weeks 7, 8, 9, & 10. One AFC, one NFC to balance out the TV schedule. For example, AFC East & NFC East off in Week 7. This works with an even number of teams in each division. The league has not expanded yet so this model does apply. - The following week, all of the bye week teams would play within their own division. For example, in Week 8 - NE* vs. BUF (since NE* always gets this, anyway), MIA vs. NYJ; DAL vs. WAS, PHI vs. NYG. - Thursday Night games: A team would neither have to play a divisional opponent on one of these short weeks, nor would they be allowed to play another divisional opponent after having the 10 day "advantage" of participating in the previous week's Thursday game. This would take some doing but it could be done. The league works on these schedules for months and comes up with thousands of variations before releasing the final version."
  2. I posted this last fall and I stand by it: "I'd really like to know what the NFL takes into account when determining its final schedule. You mean to tell me that with all of the computer permutations they run to arrive at an "optimal" schedule, that this is what the Bills end up having???: - Back-to-back west coast road games (San Francisco and Arizona) followed by... - A game against a team coming off of 10 days rest (Tennessee). Followed by... - A game against a team coming off of its bye week (Houston), negating your (Buffalo) bye week "advantage". Followed by... - A game against a divisional opponent coming off of its bye week (NE*) {for what seems like the umpteenth time, as JR said}. Followed by... - Another game against a divisional opponent (Miami) on a short week. Really??? This is ridiculous whether it's the Bills or any other team. I know that bye weeks are a money grab for the NFL by stretching the season but how about making it fair for all 32 teams? Who needs a bye in Week 4?! Teams off in Weeks 4 -10? Time for the NFL to get it right...hey, it's not rocket science, Competition Committee.
  3. It wasn't a compliment (and it certainly wasn't a "complement") but knowing that should make you feel good as you like to wallow in misery. Like it or not, you truly do come off as an ass. That's not an insult, that's the perception you give and the result of your constant sour grapes. As many posters have pointed out, why do you bother following this team if they make you completely miserable? It's a hobby, a passion...not life and death. Nobody said you weren't entitled to your opinion, me included, but you deliver the same trite, whiny message over and over and over again. We get it, this team hasn't been good for years and a couple of days at voluntary OTAs doesn't make them a Super Bowl contender but that wasn't the OP's point of this thread now was it? You just had to come in and piss all over it because tearing down the Bills and others who aren't "smart" enough to share your never-ending fatalistic view of things apparently makes you feel better. You never seem to find anything positive to say about this team, no matter how small it might be. What you say isn't the "truth", it's just your sad, joyless opinion which never, ever changes. But if that makes you feel better (or maybe in your case worse??), then by all means carry on, Eeyore.
  4. Well, now...that's a douchey thing to say.
  5. Will he be gone by summer's end?
  6. Week 1: Home vs. KC Week 7: Bye Week 17: @ NE* Thursday Night: @ NJ Jest Toronto: Carolina
  7. Nice to see something other than mock drafts and unrealistic trade down scenarios. Thanks for sharing, Mike. You truly are an ass.
  8. Agreed. I loved the games he called with Tom Brookshier. A great tandem who bring back great memories of youth. R.I.P., Pat. You'll be missed. No, Dick Enberg isn't dead. But he's calling games for a franchise that's dead...the San Diego Padres.
  9. Sorry, but I'm not giving an AFC team their franchise left tackle for an extra 3rd Rounder. I don't care what the draft chart says. If they want a stud LT, they're overpaying and throwing me a high pick next year, too. Just my two cents...
  10. Nope. He'll want a huge contract and it's not a given he'll even be the same player after the knee injury. And if he's still as good as he was, he'll hold out for more money in a couple of years, IMO.
  11. Some of my faves: Red Grange Yelberton Abraham 'Y.A.' Tittle Emerson Boozer Spider Lockhart Walker Gillette Boobie Clark Terdell Middleton
  12. Best of luck, DN...unless you're playing the Bills, of course.
  13. FWIW, my brother-in-law and a buddy from work are both diehard Vikings fans and both are very knowledgeable football people. Neither was ever very enamored of Jackson.
  14. According to these sites, it looks like Tuesday, April 16th: http://www.fbschedules.com/2013/03/report-2013-nfl-schedule-to-be-released-april-16/ http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/3/21/4132682/2013-nfl-schedule-release-date
  15. 1) I agree with you on Pears. 2) Please have someone video you when the Bills are on the clock in the 1st Round and post it here. If they take a DB early, I want to see the carnage as your head explodes. That would be sooooooooooooooo cool!
  16. Today, on the 6:00 PM edition of 'Path To The Draft' (NFL Network), Charles Davis' mock draft had Cooper going to the Bills. I just don't see it happening. FWIW, no QBs had been" taken" at that point. I have no problem with your opinion or anyone else's on this subject for that matter. You're right, it would be pretty boring if we all agreed...although not nearly as contentious. That said, your original post stated, "As for the draft...IMO, the Bills will draft Cordarelle Patterson at #8 and Matt Scott at #41. The best WR and the best QB in this class." It was your opinion in the first sentence that the Bills will draft Patterson & Scott. Cool, no problem. You stated in your next sentence as absolute that Patterson & Scott were the best at their respective positions. Big difference. If you meant to say that it was also your opinion that Patterson & Scott were the best, then okay. If that's the case, I couldn't determine that from your poor sentence structure.
  17. That depends on who you believe. Russ Lande had him rated as the highest prospect (not just QB) in the entire draft. Do I believe that? Nope. But I also don't believe that you're more qualified than Lande. Your assertion that Scott is the best QB in the class is not any less outlandish than his claim about Nassib. Neither QB has played a down in the NFL and there's no empirical evidence as to who's the best or will be the best. Nobody knows at this point. Talking in absolutes is foolish.
  18. Not live, nationally...but they'll all be on NFL Network at some point.
  19. If they merged the threads, would that mean that the Bills should draft 8th?
  20. They do play the Lions every preseason...last game, have for years. Yes. His family also owned stock in the Lions prior to his owning the Bills. I believe he used to attend Lions games with his father.
  21. Fair enough. Has Stevie done some stupid things since being drafted by the Bills? Yes. Would I like some of it to stop? Yes. Was his tweet earth-shattering or important in the grand scheme of things? No. He's an athlete, not a world leader. Time to move on...
  22. And your concern seems to be far less about the Bills than your perceived 'insensitivity' to bombing on SJ's part and the impact of his tweet on the world for those who don't speak English. SJ bothers you but Rodman doesn't...based on your 'offended' sensibilities, you come off as a hypocrite.
  23. Where was your outrage over Dennis Rodman??? What he said and did was far more egregious than some joke tweet by SJ. Good God, get over yourself and move on already.
