  1. Schwartz can fix anything... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHw6KXbvazs
  2. No offense but if you believe that at this point, you're either blind, stupid, or both. I love FJ but CJ is by far the more explosive, dangerous back. He should be the main back and Fred should be the change of pace guy but both should be on the field more at the same time. I think the only reason that Chan is starting FJ and giving him so many carries is that he's afraid of losing the locker room because Fred has been such a valuable leader and team player. It's going to be tough to transition to CJ without dividing the team...just my 2 cents.
  3. We're going to agree to disagree then. Given Fitz' history of trying to do too much when a safer option is available, did anyone really think that him throwing into traffic wouldn't end badly? We've seen this movie way too often.
  4. Again, an inconsistent rookie who's had his share of drops was NOT the right choice. The kid hasn't played all that much this year and shouldn't have even been on the field. Why would you trust him in that situation?
  5. This board is obviously divided. Fitz' fault, TJ's fault, TJ's fault, Fitz' fault. This debate isn't going to end. What is not debatable, IMO, is that calling a play to an inconsistent rookie with the game on the line is asinine. Given Chan's propensity to consistently call the wrong plays at crucial moments in a game and Fitz' tendency to throw a pick &/or come up small in said moments, I put more of this on those two than on Graham, even if he ran the wrong route. He shouldn't even be an option there. Fitz had other, higher percentage reads but, as is his M.O., he screwed the pooch...again. Even without a timeout, 30 seconds at the opponent's 15 yard line is an eternity in the NFL.
  6. Super Bowl XXV...'Wide Right'. Not even close.
  7. I said this very thing in another thread. Gailey getting cute (again) by calling a play to a little used rookie and Fitz' lack of field vision ultimately led to this loss. CJ, Fred, Chandler, Stevie, Jones and you call a play to Graham with the game on the line. Gailey "out-dumbed" himself (again), Fitz came up small (again), and the Cheatriots* walked away with a win over the Bills (again). Another Buffa-low.
  8. There's plenty of blame to go around, whether you want to crucify, the owner, the coaches, Fitz, Graham...but no matter how you slice it, this team ALWAYS finds a way to come up small. A loser's mentality permeates the entire organization.
  9. This garbage reminds me all too well of the Miami games of the '70s. Bills never had things go their way and in the end would always find a way to get your hopes up then break your heart...and Miami would walk away victorious.
  10. Bottom-line: Fitz had a chance to pull a Brady and he pulled a Fitz. Donald Jones was standing all alone along the sideline, near the 5. Horrible call to wing that down the middle into traffic. Fitz has zero field vision.
  11. Given the last decade plus of this series, how could you feel otherwise?
  12. Still no Senator sighting...
  13. I'd really like to know what the NFL takes into account when determining its final schedule. You mean to tell me that with all of the computer permutations they run to arrive at an "optimal" schedule, that this is what the Bills end up having???: - Back-to-back west coast road games (San Francisco and Arizona) followed by... - A game against a team coming off of 10 days rest (Tennessee). Followed by... - A game against a team coming off of its bye week (Houston), negating your (Buffalo) bye week "advantage". Followed by... - A game against a divisional opponent coming off of its bye week (NE*) {for what seems like the umpteenth time, as JR said}. Followed by... - Another game against a divisional opponent (Miami) on a short week. Really??? This is ridiculous whether it's the Bills or any other team. I know that bye weeks are a money grab for the NFL by stretching the season but how about making it fair for all 32 teams? Who needs a bye in Week 4?! Teams off in Weeks 4 -10? You really need 7 bye weeks and a weakened slate of games for nearly two months?? Here's what I would do and the league still gets its precious extra week: - Four bye weeks starting in Week 7. This ends the useless, early season byes and gives everyone a truer "half season" bye. - There would be two entire divisions off in each of Weeks 7, 8, 9, & 10. One AFC, one NFC to balance out the TV schedule. For example, AFC East & NFC East off in Week 7. This works with an even number of teams in each division. The league has not expanded yet so this model does apply. - The following week, all of the bye week teams would play within their own division. For example, in Week 8 - NE* vs. BUF (since NE* always gets this, anyway), MIA vs. NYJ; DAL vs. WAS, PHI vs. NYG. - Thursday Night games: A team would neither have to play a divisional opponent on one of these short weeks, nor would they be allowed to play another divisional opponent after having the 10 day "advantage" of participating in the previous week's Thursday game. This would take some doing but it could be done. The league works on these schedules for months and comes up with thousands of variations before releasing the final version. Not the point. This shouldn't be the case for any team, not just the Bills. The league can correct these situations and should. End of story. BTW, Chevy...nice article.
  14. Of course, Bob! I absolutely love this movie. A classic.
  15. No need...Vick could do that for you.
  16. Exactly. Six games is hardly a large enough sample size to determine anything.
  17. This is me. Over 40 years of diehard fandom and only one pro championship to show for it...the '86 Mets. In order of joy that winning "the big one" would bring me: 1) Bills, 2) Sabres, 3) Mets Bills: I was born in '63 so I don't remember the '64 & '65 AFL Champion Bills...just what I've read & seen over the years and what my dad has told me. As much as I love my other teams, a Bills championship would taste better than all of the others combined. The '90 squad that made the team's first ever Super Bowl was awesome. The feeling of that time after the 51-3 rout of the Raiders was unreal. I honestly never thought I'd see the Bills make the Super Bowl in my lifetime. Ironically enough, it feels that way again. If they ever manage to win one, I don't know what I'll do I'll be so happy. Ah, one can dream... Sabres: I loved 'The French Connection' line of Perreault, Martin, & Robert in the '70s. Losing the '75 Stanley Cup to the hated Flyers really sucked as an 11 year old growing up in Grand Island. I remember the buzz in school when they made the finals...everyone was pumped. The 'No Goal' BS game in the '99 Cup Finals still irks me to no end. The Dallas Stars? Seriously?? Mets: I was only 6 when they won in '69 so I don't really recall that magical championship. I did fall in love with them around that time though because I saw them on TV and loved their uniforms plus they were a NY team and Buffalo didn't have a baseball team. The abusive love affair may have actually started around '73 when the Yogi Berra managed squad lost in seven to the A's. The '86 Mets are my only salvation. An NLCS for the ages in seven against the Astros and a thrilling World Series win in seven over the then "cursed" Red Sox. The 2000 WS was awful because it was to the Cowboys of baseball, the 'Evil Empire'...the Skanks. Braves (NBA): I was a diehard Buffalo Braves fan until they left town in the late '70s. I followed Randy Smith's career with the Clippers & Cavaliers but the NBA was dead to me at that point and still is to this day. College: I am also a lifelong, diehard of Alabama football. My mom was from Mobile, AL and I've followed them since the Bear Bryant days in the '70s. They have become a powerhouse again in recent years and although I love the championships, I'd trade them all for just one Bills SB win. When I watch them, I do marvel at the precision & execution and dream what it would be like to see the Bills play like that. The most euphoric feeling I've had recently that even comes close to the SB era Bills and the '86 Mets is the 2011 VCU Rams men's basketball team, my alma mater, who made it to the Final Four. What an unbelievable run that was as a "mid-major", knocking off several powerhouse programs in convincing fashion. I'm really looking forward to their inaugural season in the A-10 this year. So, although, my teams haven't won much, they are MY teams. I love them through thick and (mostly) thin. They are like family and I'll never change my allegiances.
  18. Why is Bowe unhappy with Jason Cole? Did Cole write something bad about him? This. Not only will Bowe cost big dollars to retain, he'll cost draft picks &/or players to obtain. On top of that, it likely means that one or both of Byrd & Levitre are gone. I'd like to have Bowe but if it's at the expense of Byrd &/or Levitre, I say no thanks. How about we stop with another asinine "trade Fred" proposal? Teams don't go with just one good RB. What if Spiller gets hurt again...who's running the ball? Choice? Please. And why would KC trade their best WR for another RB when they already have Jamaal Charles, Peyton Hills and a young Shaun Draughn? How does that help THEM?? Hardly "a fair trade". 'Retard Rodeo' 'It's hard to win trade in the NFL' Recapitulating, even!
