  1. On the contrary. I don't think there's anything happy about it...especially for the home team.
  2. I heard a rumor that there have been rumors about Jairus Byrd but that's unsubstantiated...or so it's been rumored.
  3. God bless. Great story and thanks for sharing. My dad is also the reason that I am a lifelong, diehard Bills fan. There's not a day that goes by that I'd like to both thank and curse him for it. I'll be taking my sons, ages 13 & 11, to their first Bills game on Saturday vs. Washington. They're both over the moon with excitement and the older will proudly be wearing his Fred Jackson jersey, the younger proudly wearing his Stevie Johnson jersey. Hopefully, they'll take away some great memories like the ones your father forever provided you. Hang in there and thanks for sharing in your time of grief. GO BILLS!!!
  4. Yet these two teams have won exactly the same number of Super Bowls under their respective owners. Face it, the Foreskins have been the Bills South. They were irrelevant and going nowhere until they were able to land 'Bob, Part 3'. The only difference is that Washington has spent a lot more money for a losing product and done a much better job of gouging their fans for every penny they can. That and the fact that Snyder is a complete prick and reprehensible human being. He, Jerry Jones, & Bob Kraft are everything that's wrong with today's "modern NFL".
  5. Maybe 'Little Dummy' Snyder should move them to LA. I hear the NFL is looking to put a team or two out there. No, thanks. That stadium sucks...but I'll tolerate it next Saturday. GO BILLS!!!
  6. It's the equivalent of the infamous "lower body injury" in hockey.
  7. Ditto. My personal, favorite Rian Lindell moment: A buddy of mine is a Redskins season ticket holder and took me to their game against the Bills at FedEx Field in December of 2007. It was a chilly, misty/rainy day and the Bills had struggled offensively most of the game, save for four Lindell FGs (and a safety by the defense). The partisan crowd was emotionally jacked because it was Sean Taylor day - the team's first game following the murder of their star safety - and it looked all day long like Washington would win. The Bills trailed 16-14 and got the ball late in the game for a final drive. Trent Edwards miraculously drove them down field and into FG range with only seconds left in the game. Lindell lined up for a 51 yarder at our end of the field. As the rain came down, he nailed it with room to spare. My buddy couldn't believe it and I was stunned but elated. Then the announcement by the officials: "Timeout, Washington." Head Coach Joe Gibbs had called a timeout just prior to the snap. I was now dejected and my buddy breathed a sigh of relief. Lindell lined up again for another 51 yarder in the rain. As he awaited the snap, the whistle blew and a flag was thrown and I thought, "WTF, now?!", then I realized that Gibbs had succumbed to a massive brain fart and had called a second consecutive timeout! 15 yard penalty, Washington! A second 51 yarder became a more than manageable 36 yarder. No problem for Lindell. Good!! Five FGs on the day and the Bills win in a weird thriller, 17-16. The two hour car ride home to Richmond was a joy that felt like 10 minutes to me, not so much to my buddy. lol Thanks for that memory, Rian, and many others. May your future endeavors treat you well. Let the Dustin Hopkins era begin. Make it a good one, kid.
  8. If so, he'll have to pry it from Roberto's cold, dead hands.
  9. I was 9 years old at the time, living in Grand Island, but wasn't lucky enough to have attended the game; however, a neighbor across the street went and gave me the commemorative coin. To this day, it's still one of my most cherished pieces of Bills memorabilia. All these years I've I wondered if he ever regretted giving it to me. lol Like many others, I listened to that game on the radio. That was the Duane Thomas game. http://www.profootba...king--football/ Apparently, not. Kelly reached the national semifinals at San Diego in 1970 and won his local competition in 1971. http://www.isledegra...elly1-13-05.htm Yes, I had both. http://www.bicyclehe....org/page6.html Ditto.
  10. Who said he was the greatest CB in Bills history??? Good God, your irrational hate of him is over the top. I don't think one person in this thread stated that he was the best. Again, he was a 4th Round pick. You have an ax to grind. End of story.
  11. Simply stated, the fact that you think a 4th Round draft pick is "overrated" is asinine. He wasn't a top 10 pick, he was a freaking 4 Rounder. Sign me up for that kind of production from all of the Bills 4th Round picks. Get a grip, dude.
  12. They aren't. They're Corn Flakes-esque.
  13. Will this be the newest Jauron-esque TBD catch phrase should the offense sputter this year?
  14. Two more words: asinine thread
  15. Naw...it's regular font.
  16. "I'm gonna put this Vulcan nerve pinch on you and drop your sorry arse like a sack of potatoes!"
  17. mitchmurraydowntown started this thread and has the ability to close it at any time. He should do the right thing and close it. He can start a new one, if so desired. If nothing else, it's annoying to see a thread titled, 'Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp' well into training camp and a mere week from the first pre-season game.
  18. "10 on 11 drill...we scored without a left guard! Woo-hoo!!"
  19. Nicely done! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-g2i_AlqBA
  20. "Biggest bills fan in the world." No, I am. "Lurk like crazy." Perfectly acceptable. "Never post anything." You have at least 11 times prior to this thread. "Base everything I know off this site." Scary. "Thank you." You're welcome. Maybe lucky post number 13 will be in the not too distant future...
  21. Too much coffee tonight? What an asinine, broad brush picture you've painted for an entire group of people, all of whom play fantasy football for various reasons. Some for money, some for fun, some to have a diversion from their lousy team. I've been involved with it since 1987, before it was even popular...before fantasy magazines and websites littered the landscape. In all that time, I've never pulled for one of my teams or players over the Bills. Never. Ever. I rarely play anyone against the Bills and, when I do, it's somebody like Aaron Rodgers who's going to get his points no matter how much I cheer for or against him or because I have no other options to play at a certain position. I'm perfectly fine with getting no points against the Bills. In fact, I'd prefer it, that's why I try to avoid playing anyone against them. As far as gambling goes, all of my teams are in free Yahoo! leagues with nothing but bragging rights at stake except for one...that's the league my brother & I have had with some local friends since '87 and the money involved is basically enough to cover the cost of running the league and paying for the website. Knowing little about the game? There are plenty of non-fantasy players who fall into that category, as well. I love football and have been following it and the NFL long before I ever played fantasy football and probably long before you were crapping in your diapers. BTW, I've never understood the hatred for Brad Smith and am fine with him on the team. In fact, that's my preference. As Kelly said, up thread, Smith is experienced, brings versatility to the table, and the Bills are better with him. Maybe your next diatribe can be against XBox/PS3/Madden enthusiasts. Surely, none of them know as much about football as you either. Perhaps decaf in the future?
