  1. I agree with the bolded and that was my preference, as well; however, I'm not convinced that they could've traded him. He would've had to sign the tender before a trade could be made. He & Parker probably would've dug in their heels and done exactly as they did last year. At that point, all you get is a bitter player who won't sign long-term. Could they have traded him before the deadline in the fall? Possibly, but it's more difficult task than at this time of year when rosters aren't set and there is greater cap flexibility. You also run the risk of a three-ring circus & a divided locker room. I'm not happy with this at all but there is culpability on the part of all involved.
  2. The fact is, whether the Bills made Byrd the highest paid safety in NFL history or let him walk, they were going to get crucified. Just depends upon which side of the fence you happen to fall. Whether you blame the Bills for this or not, it was a no win situation. The perfect "crap storm", if you will.
  3. Welcome to the age of the boorish, "internet tough guy."
  4. “We have negotiated with representation for Jairus Byrd for more than a year, but have yet to reach an agreement on a contract extension," said Whaley. "We remain open to getting a deal done with Jairus, but we have chosen not to use the franchise tag on any of our impending unrestricted free agents.” http://www.buffalobi...95-dfb99cf95eea
  5. No. They're color blind.
  6. I can't believe someone actually wasted time "designing" that garbage. Ugh.
  7. No underwear = show us your Queen City "kitties".
  8. Great stuff. Love Bruce's body slam of Boomer Esiason at the 5:56 mark and Leon "Dr. Sack" Seals' demolition of Jeff Hostetler in SB XXV at the 11:05 mark.
  9. Unfortunately, that's the double-edged sword that is a one game, winner-take-all championship. That's often why the Super Bowl is a dud. The NHL, MLB, & NBA all have a minimum of four games to determine the best team. Unlike the NFL, a one game clunker is not fatal to your chances.
  10. A pro athlete with a hot wife? What a shock... Unless the Bills throw a Brinks truck at him (which they won't), I can't see him clamoring to have EJ Manuel throw to him. IMO, he'd probably take less to play with Brady & the Patriots* before even considering the Bills.
  11. Worst Super Bowl since the first Bills vs Dallas game, IMHO.
  12. "Can you drop me on the steps at Canton, big guy? It's this way!"
  13. Is this "The Cleveland Way"? Unfortunately, I don't think Pettine's first HC gig will end well or last very long. He's already behind the eight ball with late coaching hires and a questionable front office and owner. His worst move has been hiring Kyle Shanahan, a bad choice as OC, IMHO. Shanny was a flop in both New Jersey and DC and I don't see that changing in Cleveland. Kirk Cousins certainly won't help. At this point, Hoyer is a better option than he is. The Brownies need to find their franchise QB via the draft. Anybody willing to surrender more than a late 3rd or 4th for Cousins is crazy but some GM will think that he's the one to make chicken salad out of chicken shite. That's "The NFL Way".
  14. He was second only to Jerry Rice in that department. Just one of the many reasons that Andre should've been in long ago.
  15. My brother and I were discussing this tonight. I think it does. Tasker revolutionized the gunner position and is considered by many to be the best Special Teams player of all-time. It probably won't be any time soon but I believe he'll eventually be a HOFer. IMHO, Kent Hull deserves to be in, too, but I don't think he'll make it. A Super Bowl win may have changed that and expedited Andre's entrance, as well.
  16. And then hits a Chippewa on Canadian Street during the parade in Seattle! Not to worry, JR... Denver - 23 Seattle - 17
  17. YES!! CONGRATS, ANDRE!!! :D :D
  18. I was just a little kid when he was with the Bills. I remember him more for his days with the LA Rams.
  19. The Bills didn't "become" Syracuse under the HC, I doubt they'll "become" the Lions under the DC.
  20. Ha! Was it the one where he was wearing a Bills tuque? ESPN maybe? He's a meathead...but he's OUR meathead (apologies to TBD's 'Meathead').
  21. Exactly. No, thanks...hands of stone. He looks great on paper...everything you'd want in a TE, physically...but is a dud in actuality. I'd rather have Finley and I don't want him either.
  22. No, thanks.
  23. Yup. Just curious...did he also B word and moan that the Bills paid him too much for doing absolutely nothing? Did he offer to return his salary? Congrats to him on lucking into a cushy gig which landed him in the Super Bowl. He's fortunate to even be employed, IMHO.
  24. How about?: 'OP erroneously claims Dirk Koetter named Cleveland Head Coach, subsequently chided by board'
  25. Reportedly...but for cosmetic appearances only.
