Does Watson's impressive combine do anything for you?
jethro_tull replied to BILLiever55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll need to see the Wonderlic score to be sure. His needs to be in the 30's at least (e.g. Tom Brady- 33). For everyone's reference Tyrod's is 15 (out of 50). -
Say a prayer for Danny, my son....
jethro_tull replied to Nervous Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're absolutely right it is the call no parents ever want to hear. I am so sorry for you and your family. We will pray for you and your son to be at peace. Unfortunately I know what you are going through because the same thing happened to my son in 2008. Those addictive substances are absolutely evil in the way they destroy lives. Their is a national of organization called "The Compassionate Friends" that have get togethers where grieving parents can offer each other support. They should have a place local to you. It helped my wife tremendously. I encourage you to join if you are able. Thoughts, prayers and hope for peace to you and your family. https://www.compassionatefriends.org/ -
a smart new coordinator would not try to reinvent the wheel all at once. he has a learning curve to understand the player's strengths and weaknesses just like the players would have a learning curve trying to learn a new set of plays in a new system. i doubt the play set will look much different at first, possibly with some new wrinkles. i am interested to see how well he calls plays that suit the situation and that are flexible enough to exploit the other team's weaknesses. will he call plays that are based on down and distance statistics or will he decide by gut / emotion / momentum? you aren't going to win very often if you run plays that your offense is not capable of executing consistently.

Marquise Goodwin: Stay or Go?
jethro_tull replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if it means that the bills would keep robert woods if they let goodwin go then see ya, by all means. don't rule out the patriots signing him and turning him into a superstar, further humiliating the Bills organization. -
true. thank God they couldn't turn chandler into a star. only so much to work with. robert woods will be though.
-
makes me sick. wait until the patriots pick up robert woods after we let him walk.

Why do I feel optimistic? Let me count the ways.

I do like the fact that the new coach comes without any baggage or excuses. With Rex you had to wonder if his failing in New York was because of their GM Idzik truly purging the team of talented players or that he wasn't a very good coach. In hindsight it was a little of one and a lot of the other. -
a very challenging condition for a team sport athlete. the chicago media have reported numerous incidents and ancedotes while he was with the bears. good for a year.

other sites abbreviate the picture when you quote a post. this one repeats the pictures in their entirety. this way seems better.

Chip Kelly interviewing for Jags OC
jethro_tull replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
doug and nate are scheming a way to pry thad lewis away from the 9ers.... i would be totally happy with chip as OC. -
my local (chicago) sports radio show talked about this extensively today. these ratings are of high caliber because ex NFL scouts are employed by PFF. reading the bills rankings of the d front seven they seem to imply that the talent they have under performed. translation= coaching.

great points and well said.

Definitely not easy. Better odds than the lottery though. You can't win if you don't play.
-
it sure is. But the Bills have not rolled the dice often enough or very well.

Downsizing because teams are moving? They have a place to go, the new market will support the team. There is no reason to downsize. If the quality of play suffered because of a diluted talent pool it might make sense to downsize to improve the product. I used to believe the NHL should downsize for that very reason but no longer. NFL downsizing? I just don't see any good reasons why they should.

Lazy, unmotivated, big mouth players are in Big Trouble
jethro_tull replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hopefully rather than kick ass and take names like some gunnery sergeant the new coach will try to lead, encourage and motivate the players that have enough talent to be productive. It would be a loss to get rid of players that would go on to thrive on another team. Morale was obviously low last season, especially on the defense. -
ayyyyyy the presser for the new coach mcdermott was molto grande, ahhhhh? here it is in case yous was wondering how to watch it. just copy the “link” into the browsers window. i give my coimplements to the new coach, he’s an OK guy and seems right with the man upstairs if you know what im sayin and the bills can use a little help right about now. i wish coach all the best. but i must also give my highest complements to the buffalo medias who made coach feel welcomed and with open arms. you got yer sal capacio, your vic carucci, your adam begnni your salvatore mairona….these guys are the best. i was just waiting for them to pop the cork on some vino and pass the bread bowl! coach mcdermott- welcome to buffalo – Salut! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=be2ZHZuiC18

what ever happened to having a QB that could call the plays? they often understand the flow of the game much better by being in the middle of it.

Bills stuck with mediocre coordinators once again
jethro_tull replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have tried to think that this is year (3) of the Pegula era and therefore a new beginning. Unfortunately it isn't that simple. A business' culture remains embedded with the people that work there and unless there is substantial, immediate personnel turnover, the culture tends to remain as it is despite new leaders at the top. But there are some key differences- Mr. Pegula seems determined to do what it takes to build a winner and is willing to spend competitive cash to get there. -
greenie was focused too much on the gossip / scandal / character type of stories. they can do better. maybe they can steal amy lawrence from CBS -should be a drop-in for greenburg.
