  1. Possibly more like a huge rationalization- that trading away the best receiver on the team, with developed chemistry with our QB, and is ready to play for the first time in a over a year- is somehow a good thing. Bills fans are nothing if not supremely talented rationalists. The reality is that our shiny new GM might not know what he is doing. This is a frightening thought that many fans do not want to consider.
  2. i still cant believe how depressed i am about this deal. all i can hear is john murphy's play by play from the PS game where he was extactic about the taylor watkins connection heating up. brandon bean you screwed up. no matter how you decorate it a turd of a deal still stinks.
  3. the bills get a few phone calls asking for a deal..... a backup qb and a third round pick should get it done.
  4. Hearing this Mantra "Win Now" coming from the Bills- despite trading away Sammy Watkins, is an absolute insult. A team that wants to "Win Now" does not trade away their best (and one of the league's best) Wide Receivers. From Vic Caruci- "*Wide receiver: Sammy Watkins. Yes, I know he's no longer on the team, but he participated in most of the camp practices before the Bills traded him to the Los Angeles Rams last Friday. And he was easily better than any receiver on the roster through most of those workouts (newcomers Anquan Boldin and Jordan Matthews either didn't practice with him much or at all, so they aren't being factored into this assessment). Having finally recovered from the foot surgery he underwent in January, Watkins ran well and used his athleticism to the fullest to gain separation and make plays. He repeatedly out-jumped defenders for difficult catches of throws that were over his head. The Bills are going to miss the guy who showed up for camp." As a Bills fan and yes a Sammy Watkins fan, this breaks my heart. It was a calculated decision- and mainly a financial one. To to the Buffalo Bills organization who insist that they truly want to "win now"- 1) What is your definition of "now"? and 2) Who are you crappin?
  5. I have heard this mentioned by Bills media reps and it is strictly pie in the sky public relations with absolutely zero substance. Makes no sense whatsoever based on their decision last Friday.
  6. I agree with you. The ONLY thing that I am holding on to about this trade is the fact that Sammy is not a skilled possession receiver. He drops 45% of his targets. I know a deep threat is important but if the team can do better at moving the chains in the Dennison offense they should be successful.
  7. The talk of signing him (again) after this season is ridiculous. Like it somehow has a chance of happening.
  8. A big part of the decision probably involves the type of receiver Watkins is and whether that is the best fit for Dennison's offense. Watkin's strength is as a dynamic, home run deep route speed receiver and not necessarily a short route possession receiver. Dennison's offense is definitely a passing / possession offense. Watkin's ~53.8% catch percentage might not have been a good fit for a passing possession offense.

  10. The "2017" Bills- Cold Deals no Ice
  11. Jordan Matthews has a catch percentage of 62%! WTF Bean Head!
  12. Darby was expendable and too short and small, not going to miss him. But trading Sammy Watkins, the best player on the team who was healthy for the first time in years, primed and ready to give his all for what should have been a great season, is absolutely ludicrous, idiotic, moronic, egotistical, power hungry and flat out foolhardy. 2nd round draft pick? BFD. Drafts are risky, they already had a PROVEN PLAYER. The worst part about this whole deal is that I have lost all confidence in our GM. You can rebuild the team without jettisoning the best player on the team and a fan favorite- not just because you want to show you are the new BMF on campus. This move takes the wind out of the rest of the team. Who is going to give their all for this guy when he got rid of Sammy? Moves like this come to define a tenure of a GM and staff. This one defines that he is a power hungry a-hole, nothing more. FU Brandon Beane. A Big FU.
  13. this season is in the schitter. how the hell are the players going to be motivated when the best player on the team was traded because the GM wanted to make a statement? answer- they wont be. bean is just a royal a hole.
  14. NFL story of the year. Possibly a run for the East crown. Seriously.
  15. doubtful. has the chance to be just the opposite. What?!
  16. Living in the Chicago area I have witnessed first hand the absolute bone headed blundering by the Bears organizational regimes that completely wasted the talents of Jay Cutler. Beginning with the horrendous deal that GM Gerry Angelo made to get Cutler from Denver (so many draft picks that the team never recovered and it cost him his job). Because he rarely produced (thanks to numerous coaching changes, rosters filled with holes in several key positions, incidents that questioned his commitment) Cutler became the pariah and was run out of town. \ Make no mistake- he has high level arm talent and can still be a gunslinger. The Dolphins offense is primed to take advantage- a solid running game, offensive line and two marquee receivers. A very serious threat and could wind up being the story of the season. Unfortunately for us.
  17. very well put. a credible set of receivers with a healthy sammy and charles clay gives him a chance to shine.
  18. the ny post is a popular paper but they are a raunchy rag just this side of the national enquirer. the headlines during the anthony weiner scandal were pretty funny. With the expiration of their patents, the ED drug makers are pulling out at the right time.
  19. playoffs by hook, crook or lots of help.
  20. It will be a successful season for you if Tom Brady gets injured?
  21. reason to be cheerful part 3.
  22. despite the defense regressing, the secondary all but non-existent and watkins and dareus out or not contributing very much of the year last season- the bills were in contention for the WC quite late in the year. if the offense can keep from losing anything and the defense takes shape / improves like we believe it can they could be in a better position this season, especially if ragland and lawson step up as well.
  23. sammy should do some ballet- strengthen that bum foot.
