  1. but when you resort to those comments don't you become one yourself? and if you support those comments just because you agree with him aren't you in effect one also? what ever happened to respect and dignity when disagreeing with someone.
  2. off the finger tips of the receiver who was in the midst of a fully extended horizontal dive- he did not have an inch to spare so to speak. in other words a low percentage catch by even the best receivers. since the receiver was wide open there was no reason to make him dive for the ball in the first place.
  3. Michael's comments stung, no doubt. But the Patriots as a team and organization are so strong that they can make the best of a player's talents. The Bills need to start dong this in order to avoid these kinds of comparisons. Gillislee is a good second level runner and looked good on those TDs because of the Patriots strong offensive line. Gilmore seemed to be exposed for what he is and could be a liability to them as the season progresses. Hogan looked extremely average when Brady ran out of first line receivers to target and against the Chief's very goo defense. In fact Brady looked average when his remaining receivers could not get open. The way the game played out is somewhat of a vindication to Michael's cheap shots. The Bills need to put up and Michael's will shut up.
  4. Sounds reasonable to me. https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/09/07/buffalo-bills-not-tanking-sean-mcdermott-nfl
  5. i hear ya but how else do you decide how to keep or cut someone on the roster? PS and camp are the only proving grounds before final cuts.
  6. also banyard was the best Bills RB in preseason and no. 8 in the league in PS yards.
  7. Boldin is over the hill and ridiculously slow. He is of value by his reputation alone and I doubt if he plays for anyone this season.
  8. No. 1) They haven't played a single game yet. 2) The moves are not that bad if you investigate the rationale. 3) Whaley was the worst GM in the league with a league low of 22% drafted players on the roster. Could not get any worse.
  9. Absolute BS that barbeque is the most popular flavor! I keep seeing more and more food items in the supermarket with "buffalo" flavor. there are probably hundreds of items on the shelves- stouffers buffalo flavored mac and cheese for cripes sakes! the other day they had birds eye buffalo cauliflower!
  10. I was back last week-end for a family wedding and the place blew me away since my last visit 5 years ago! Granted it was gorgeous weather but when was the last time you saw lots people actively walking around looking for something to do in the heart of downtown Buffalo on a Saturday morning! There were lots of people milling about, it was awesome! The new hotels are spectacular! Delaware Avenue is as beautiful as ever, even Main street is looking really nice thanks to the Canisius college properties. I truly believe my dream has been realized! If they would just clean up the blight along 190 from the south towns it would be a very nice drive. The only problem I see for future metro development are those ageing wood sided 2-story victorian homes that make up the bulk of the housing within city limits- so many square miles of them and they are not easy to renovate because of their cramped dated floor plans and old HVAC and piping systems.
  11. he'd be a good coverage guy for anquan boldin
  12. It wasn't very exciting watching the Rick Dennison / Trevor Semian show last year at Denver- kind of reminded me of when Matt Cassell ran the Bills offense- long drives with lots of first downs but it seemed like they were actually losing yardage as the end zone kept getting farther away. Yet somehow the broncos had 2 wide receivers over 1000 yards last season on the way to their 9 and 7.
  13. I would not be as concerned about the offense during preseason if I knew they were practicing their actual playbook in closed sessions. Seems like the training camp schedule did not leave much time for "closed sessions" where the public and media could not attend. Can anyone confirm that they had lots of closed session practices during camp? It isn't just coaching either, its the entire organization but mainly coaching with schemes that align with roster talent and capabilities and roster management / player acquisition.
  14. RIP Mr. Kelly. Thoughts and prayers of hope for you and your family Jim.
  15. I agree with you and even with the Watkins trade not representing a tank move - on paper at least. However when your new GM gets rid of the best receiver on the team who has looked healthy and ready to commit during preseason- this move comes off as a tank move and not a "win now" move. No matter how you look at it, rightly or wrongly, the Watkins trade sends a signal that many fans interpret as a rebuild move (and probably players as well). It is the psychological aspect that hits home, not the analytics side of the deal. Bean F'd up IMHO, big time.
  16. OMG really? after that political exit essay?
  17. so they should not have bothered in the first place?
  18. He's got his finger on the "T" button. And it is starting to itch- badly.
  19. It's almost time for the fans to tank.
  20. i agree with you- point was that he seemed to have something left in the tank (no pun intended).
  21. again, did they bother to work out the mo fo before signing him?
  22. we better lighten up or McD and Beane might bail.
  23. anquan played in all 16 games last season and had 67 catches / 584 yards and 8 TDs. He had more TDs than any Bills receiver and more yards than any Bills receiver except for Robert Woods (613 yards). Apparently he let himself go in the off season.
  24. maybe percy has rehabbed.
