  1. Ah yes! They did turn the team upside down- but not to lose the game- because rex needed to go, they wanted to audition A-lynn, shop EJ and bench TT so they wouldn't have the injury clause. moving up the draft board is a nice consequence of those priorities but i do not believe it was the first, second or third priority. my biggest issue is making this an excuse for the poor play.
  2. not bad but my premise is that Rex drove last year's draft. I don't have a way to prove it but he is a very will full hands on roster coach and i love that draft. miller might develop, darby is a horrible first pick, o'leary is ST / third string player and the jury is out on cardale.
  3. No, i would be OK with that idea. Based on the evidence and what I witnessed I just don't see it that way. They played horribly. Did Mike Gillislee not take possession of the kick-off because he was thinking "move up draft position"?
  4. i don't disagree that the Bill's position is not improved, I am actually happy with it. I just do not believe that yesterday's starting QB or lack of quality of play had anything to do with moving up on the draft board. if so, they should have lost the cleveland game too.
  5. point is that yesterday's game had zero to do with improving draft position.
  6. just look at his draft picks since he officially became GM. how many are still on the roster? the Bills are WORST IN THE LEAGUE at having their draft picks on the roster - 22%. Playoff level teams have ~ 60% of their draft picks on the active roster. He is not a very capable GM.
  7. shows you how good whaley is. he was a third string QB away from his roster going winless in the division.
  8. they benched taylor for "business decisions". this does not excuse the otherwise extremely poor effort by most of the rest of the team. if they wanted improved draft position they should have lost every game after the raiders collapse.
  9. he dam well deserves it. One and five in the division, the lone win to Jacoby Brisette and the patriots! swept by the dolphins and jets! he should be gone. bull. they sucked. A-lynn looked clueless.
  10. good riddance. we can do better.
  11. no hate whatsoever from this fan. he is taking action to make the team more competitive and is doing what he believes in all things considered. if i were a chicago bears fan i would not be happy with the organization for keeping coach john fox after a 3 and 13 season, for example, but pegula is taking action. i wish he would do more but maybe in time he will, right now he needs someone within the bills organization to trust.
  12. i want them to play to win but hope they lose. they could move up several spots with a loss and select more impact players for the first and subsequent rounds.
  13. two things- his job security concern might be precisely why he wants strict control of the roster. his roster to sink or swim with. however to say that this position will not limit coaching candidates is not fair. it will severely limit the candidates who will consider the bills. the biggest question is does he have the capacity to properly select a good coach. does he have any forward vision to be able to predict a prospect's growth potential if he doesn't have any head coaching experience? does he have any instincts or intuition that will help? has he drawn up a rigorous set of requirements and a priority based decision analysis matrix?
  14. I cannot understand where this idea came from and why it has so much support. I challenge his effectiveness as a real-time play caller and am often baffled at the call in critical game situations. He is riding the coat tails of Lesean Mccoy IMHO, and allowing him to run effectively does not take much thought or imagination. How that translates into head coaching qualifications is puzzling. Back up your statement.
  15. they didn't show the replay?
  16. They should have responded with something (attitude, stepped up play, etc.) after the cheap shot happened. Why they didn't is concerning.
  17. he's an upstate NY'er, went to SU, coached in Rochester, plus he took (2) going nowhere teams to the playoffs in his second season with each.
  18. With a healthy team and upgrades at the positions of need, keeping Rex and the system in place is the best chance to make the playoffs next season. Beyond that.......
  19. I look at the state of this year's roster- injuries and a secondary that is too easy for the better teams to exploit- and wonder which is worse- the coaching or the roster. Rex is an average coach but the roster issues this year were more of a problem to the team's success, IMHO.
  20. I didn't want to believe Schefter's report about Shaq Lawson's shoulder needing surgery. I want to believe him that Rex will be let go at the end of the season.
  21. I agree- but I have heard him talk on various radio shows and radio game broadcasts and he still has the pulse of the game and what it takes to win IMHO. I would hope the Bills do due diligence (if he is interested) and not just roll out the red carpet. I wouldn't mind if he were consulted / assisted with the next coaching / GM hire.
  22. More feelers cast by our illustrious former GM. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/12/12/report-bill-polian-expected-to-receive-interest-from-bears-for-front-office-advisory-role/
  23. please- not josh mcdaniels......
  24. this isn't verry funny. two years of reverse progress down the drain!
  25. andy reid as coach last 2 years = playoffs.
