  1. I watched him outplay Jay Cutler for 4-games in Chicago the year before last. In the right system he will easily be good for more wins than Kyle orton was. Still not the long term answer but an upgrade from last season nonetheless.
  2. yes, icing on the cake for sure.
  3. No but I live in the Chicago area and have heard numerous accounts of this behavior over the years, peaking last season when the team crumbled. There is not one radio, TV or print reporter who covers the Bears extensively that would want him back next season- despite his outstanding receiving capability. His positive effects would be overshadowed by the negative impacts on critical team relationships and chemistry. Adversity that can destroy a team from the inside out. Toxic is the right word but unfortunately therapy is not effective enough.
  4. unfortunately i beg the bills to avoid marshall like the plague. he has an uncontrollable ego centric behavior and personality disorder that causes all those around him to walk on egg shells because of his unpredictable rage and outbursts. it is difficult to understand until you know someone with that. extremely high maintenance. just say no.
  5. sure it was a horrendous play call. but it had to be combined with equally horrendous execution for the outcome that we saw. wilson had tunnel vision, hurried the throw and took no time to contemplate other options, which is what he does well. IMHO he deserves most of the fallout for that INT. would brady have done the same thing? would rogers?
  6. Wow. She / they ain't that great. Kate upton on the other hands....who cares if she cant sing or say a convincing line of dialogue.
  7. Thanks for the insider insight and a detailed thoughtful post. Personally I hated Rex- because he made the Jets good and rubbed it in our noses. Aside from the loyalty issues, meddling ownership and poor drafting, I'm curious why you didn't mention the beginning of his downfall (IMHO) that being the departure of Brian Schottenheimer. HIndsight is 20/20 but he made the offense work and it was never the same (nor the team) after he left. As for loyalty being a fault, I hate the CEO cuthroat mentality. I like extending the benefit of the doubt for players who have produced for you- within reason. If Mark Sanchez ever shows up wearing the blue and white then clearly loyalty to a fault- a very big one.
  8. cough, bullschit http://www.popsci.com/football-physics-and-science-deflategate
  9. Personally I do see a risk that Rex may burn hot and fizzle out while he is coach of the Bills. But I still support the hire big time because the Bills are in a pretty good place talent wise and are in a position to improve on a winning record, they are not a total rebuilding project.
  10. In Chicago area. The comment from the person I respect the most was that Rex was a part of a train wreck in New York and he would not give him a chance as coach of the Bears.
  11. OP- very cool, well done! - Has it truly been confirmed that the Schwartz is locked in? I read that it would be improbable for Ryan to part ways with Dennis Thurmann.
  12. very funny! any with feet poking out of a car window? - all but a done deal in ATL however. no great loss for the Bills.
  13. probably one of the most ludicrous things i have ever read.
  14. Steve, Marrone left because he could quit a success, collect his 4-mil and hire on with a new team. Strictly business.
  15. absolutely. it will be a mirace if this team finishes above .500 next season. to say this is a good day is wrong bordering on delusional. if marrone had a QB an iota better than Orton this team would still be playing this week-end.
  16. How about some credit to the mensa that penned the deal to give Marrone his full salary if he quit via the opt out clause?
  17. Point being that being a successful OC for the Chargers and Phill Rivers doesn't carry much weight as an indicator for future success elsewhere.
  18. Ken Whisenhunt was the Chargers OC in 2013. He (perhaps) rode the coattails of Philip River's success, much like Frank Reich may be enjoying now. Whisenhunt, who has much more experience than Frank Reich, left to be head coach of the Tennessee Titans in 2014. They finished 2 and 14.
  19. Absolutely. Look at the talent on both sides of the ball and you see a complete failure at the head coaching position. Many of the best coordinators rose to be failed head coaches and then fell back where they belong. Few coordinators turned coaches get a second chance and even fewer are successful the second time around. Please leave him be as a very good DC.
  20. the whole thing still sucks.
  21. well said op. i would like schwartz to stay as dc too. he failed as hc with lots of talent and a very good qb. however the requisite that he stays may hamper / limit hc suitors and maynot jive with gm / polian as well.
  22. Jeez all this speculation already. And they replace them with whom?
  23. How prophetic is it that you misspelled the word "buffoon"?
  24. No raw deal. Trestman lost control of the team and it was a soap opera on par with the Jets circus. Public undercuts and backstabbing by players and (most recently) the OC Kromer. Zero discipline and accountability. A loose ship that demotivated everyone. Mel Tucker was possibly the worst DC in Bears history.
