  1. does anyone remember the play when he was injured? that is the cj spiller that could have been this season. keep him and make it a priority to integrate him into the game plan. otherwise some team will and he will join the string of ex bills excelling after they left.
  2. Exactly. The team that he goes to (and there are some desperate teams out there) should think short term contract with incentives. And sign it with a pencil. Spoken with the true wisdom that comes from experience.
  3. Thank you, Merry Christmas to you and all.
  4. No panic, this was their plan. Had they not traded up, they most likely would have selected Eric Ebron (whom I really wanted the Bills to pick). Eric Ebron is not lighting the field on fire even with a semi decent QB. As a Bills fan I am very content with the Watkins deal. Even with the very good year he had, he has plenty of develoment potential as most WRs do as they go into their second year. Find the Bills a more accurate passing QB and the sky is his limit. Unfortunately not having a no. 1 in the next draft looms large at this point and is a dent in this shiny deal. Let's see how they recover this off season.
  5. did you watch any 49'ers football recently? he took mike singletary's talent, did some good things, then ran that team into the ground.
  6. I would not want harbaugh as bills coach. He rubs people the wrong way. Phil Mo Rivers, heck yes.
  7. wow, that is not the promo i remember. hate to see what mr beepers looks like today!
  8. It is clueless opinions like this that really bring this site down.
  9. 49ers are another circus team. the leaks about harbaugh leaving, being out of the playoffs a well as harbaugh's extremely irritating personality and we have another wuss team of limp dink cry babies. disgusting.
  10. You all ready to ride the cutler train might want to hold on to your tickets. the benching by trestman is worth zero in the eyes of the next regime. it is a too little, too late desperation move by a lame duck coach. HOWEVER- it might just work for him. IF the team rersponds with a gangbuster effort and beats the lions, espspecially if the defense awakes from the dead, trestman (who has received the nickname "dr death" by local fans and media) could pronounce jay cutler as the team cancer. Many of the flock would buy into this. Likely outcome- the next regime assesses the available QB talent and sees Jay as the best option in the near term and gives Jay another chance.
  11. Who wants to chip in and send Clay a Fathead poster of that hit? - Schwartz failed as a HC. he had lots of talent and more than enough chances to make it work in detroit. a team will need to be desperate to sign him to that position again.
  12. i was completely impressed by his energy and the way the team responded when he came into the bills game. all afternoon hoyer was a zilch and in pops manziel, boom- moves the ball downfield and scores a TD.
  13. let me axe this question- does anyone agree that last season the refs often seemed to give the bills breaks on key plays that allowed them to sustain drives? just my overall impression from last year. probably the only season where i felt they were the recipient of favorable calls. speculation would say that they did not want the bills to be awful, especially with a headline making QB daft pick. this year it seems that they want to hold the bills back.
  14. interesting and depressing at the same time. having had these thoughts at times the question becomes why doesn't the truth come out- at least a peak under the curtain. everything comes out- even the president getting a b j in the privacy of his own office or classified information posessed by the national security administration. if the nfl were rigged i would have to believe it would be exposed- especially in this day and age. someone would be a whistle blower for the sake of the game. the other thing is risk vs. reward. the nfl is riding high and does not need to rig games. if something like this were exposed, the league would be tarnished for a long time. flip side is that there are huge sums of money bet each week.
  15. There were (2) calls in the Denver game that had ZERO to do with coaching discipline. They were total non-calls that the refs blew. Each call came on critical 3rd down plays and resulted in the broncos retaining possession and in the red zone with a first down. These had a huge impact on the outcome and in close games like that the bills cannot afford that against the NFL elite. Not that the Bills are ready to compete for a super bowl, but I am livid nonetheless that marginal, questionable if not phantom calls are against the bills in super critical situations that result in huge advantage for the other team. The refs in the denver game totally sucked and I am still pissed about it.
  16. I agree that this is a winnable game. We just need an offensive game plan that works within the capabilities of the team. These past few weeks the game plan was clearly more of a passing based attack and although the team won, it was not because of the offense. Facing better offenses than the Jets and Browns will require a better Bills offense. The last Dolphins game was a good example. Unfortunately the running game is not at its best given a hampered Freddy, a missing CJ and an OL that is still having trouble opening downfield running lanes. Winning this one will require a perfect offensive game plan and will be challenging given the circumstances.
  17. IMHO some of the personnel on offense are keeping this team from legit contention, not the coaching. Love Freddy and what he has done for this team but his quickness is gone. CJ can't really be as effective as he could be in the run game because the OL is still sub par in run blocking. Chandler is a great backup, but not even close to a Gronkowski. Orton could improve with more reps and a legit run game to keep the defense honest but he has a low ceiling. Upgrade those areas and this team is righ up there even with the same coaching staff.
  18. Well said! Those SB losses were tough on the psyche for sure but man, I remember the Music Shi&ty Miracle like it was yesterday and really really need to exorcize those demons.
  19. i wonder how many bills fans will make itto the game?
  20. eff all their rights and bs, like anyone will be impacted or liable by any measly amount if espn had to divy a small portion of thier viewing audience to oot bills / jets fans. greedy prics can kma. oot jets fans will be pissed off too which can help the cause.
  21. can't believe how pissed off i am and will be if i cant watch this game on dtv. not as pissed if they decided to black it out in buffalo on the grounds that the game would not be a sellout, however.
  22. "If you have to ask....."
  23. agreed. personally not banking on a win for the NE game, just saying that we could lose the KC game and still make the playoffs if the final game is meaningless to the patriots.
  24. i can't get that picture out of my head of that miami night game where ricky williams ran roughshod over us. hoo boy was that bad.
  25. absolutely. don't rule out the patriots having clinched HFA and resting many of their starters in the final matchup. they smell blood and want another shot at a championship.
