Unless the call is a bubble (quick pass to WR behind the LOS) the Bills have noticeable difficulty hitting the first read in pass plays. Rarely do we see a quickly timed and complete slant, hitch or go route. More often than not Josh winds up scanning the field, waiting for someone to get open and rolling out to avoid pressure. The designed pass play seems to never connect in a quick, well timed precise way. What are the reasons for this? It really needs to be fixed for the offense to be more successful. 1) Play execution (receiver cannot get open, QB makes errant pass, poor route running, blocking fails, dropped pass) 2) Play design and installation (not enough practice time or instruction of method to develop the precision timing needed) Others? Completing well timed pass plays (other teams do this, we know the ones) takes much of the pressure off of the O-Line and QB and lets the ball get out quickly and helps to move the chains.

Agreed 200%. Need more convincing? How many times (percent) is the called pass play executed quickly and efficiently- to the first or even second read? HARDLY EVER ! Josh winds up scrambling around tryin to fine ANYONE to throw to. KC by comparison is a precision machine when it comes to executing the called pass play shorty after the ball is snapped.

I don't see why they wouldn't have. If I were Spags I would have had the Chiefs D practice that play including the personnel on that package until they had it mastered. Bills should have changed it up in hindsight. I don't disagree with KC being the better team. The extra week gave them a rest and recuperation and practice advantage. With the margins razor thin in that game it could easily have made the difference. Three of the 4 division winners should get byes. And KC was rested and overprepared

I would like to see the top 3 division winners get byes and have three wild card teams. No doubt KC used the extra time to develop schemes how to stop our 4th down QB sneak and develop their own 4th and short plays. It was an advantage for them.

Possibly a DC Upgrades at multiple positions right off the bat- WR, safety, corner, DL.

NO. The Chiefs D schemes, players and coaching was superior and deserved the win. Our play calling was too predictable.

NO but there are needs- maybe a new DC and spread around the roster upgrades there are plenty to go around.

Definitely a gut punch but I am counting my blessings. KC had a superior defense and DC and HFA. No chance in that game. It was still a fun season and this team is right up there.

There is a Bills fan who used to report on forums from Maryland (BfloBob, still out there?) who knows that team very well and was not a fan of DS. He had a very derogatory nickname for him. "Midg#t Coc#su&*er"

It makes a difference. Absolutely no way that a coach looking to move on doesn't change the team's attitude and relationship or at the very least a distraction. DISTRACTION GONE !

unless they have a 99% sure fire play no way do they go for two. that's a little too aggressive................ Exactly. Be aggressive in overtime.......

That is awesome news and so respectable on him ! Local radio was talking about the hiring of Ben Johnson and wished there were T-shirts available that said "I HEART BJ" or "I LOVE BJ" to celebrate for Bears fans. We can turn that around and have our own "I LOVE JB" ! t-shirts !

It sure seems that way..... I agree completely. Maybe this is building in a bow out gracefully (you can handle it !) way of dealing with a loss tomorrow but I would be extremely happy with the season even if they lose. Of course winning tomorrow would be much much better !

Exactly right. Somehow I think they would have opened up the offense when it counted and got in makeable FG range. Or won the game in OT. In the post game coach Cower mistakenly thought the game would have gone directly into OT after that play. BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO !

The armchair media is so excited and they have no effin idea if he will be any good. This is basically a Hire by Media consensus. The sports radio talk shows have been stroking BJ pretty much 24/7 since they fired Eberfluss. Who was it that said if you listen to the fans you'll be sitting with them? Same thing for the Media. Amazing how OCs look so good when they have all pro offensive players.
