Are We a Playoff Team with A.J. ?
billykay replied to Seventeen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It may have been his second season, but it was still his first few games that we are talking about. They won two of those games and would have probably won the Playoff game had not his RB fumbled while trying to use clock near the end of the game. From what I remember, the Pittsburgh pass rush was all over him the whole game. Tough position for a kid in his first playoff game. No need to be snarky re: my mentioning of Peyton Manning. I was just trying to show an analagous situation regarding even future Hall of Fame QBs. Of course, I thing that you knew that. -

A young kid playing in his first four games, one being a playoff game. Probably not much worse than Peyton's first four games. We shall see. -

Would it be possible to make the 2019 picks conditional on his signing ?? -
Redskins trade Su’a Cravens to Broncos for 5th rd pick

With Denver losing a draft pick, perhaps they would be more amenable to a trade down to #12. Just saying. -
Rumor: Trade up discussion with Giants
billykay replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets say we move to #2. Does anyone think that it would be a good trade for us to move back to #3, especially if it seems that the Jets are panicking that they won't be getting their man? I think that we could wind up this way with our QB, perhaps Mayfield or Rosen, plus getting back some of the draft assets we lost in moving up to #2. -
Dan Patrick: Bills have called Browns about #1 pick
billykay replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're right. The Bills have to decide if one of these QB's is "their guy". If he is, then they will do what ever it takes to move up & grab him. If they aren't sold on anyone in particular, with the signing of McCarron, they now have the ability to either remain at #12 or do a mini trade up to get their 2nd thru 4th choice. It all depends if they view one of these guys as a can't miss NFL QB. Beane is too smart to waste all of his draft capital on a QB that he & his scouts deem "iffy". -
He may very well be average. Darnold & Rosen, etc. may also be average. We really don't know for sure now, do we ?

Jets just traded with Colts for #3 pick in first round
billykay replied to Hurricane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess it is how you want to look at it. I look at it as a swap of 1sts, and the price to swap up is the 3- 2nds. -

3 - 2nds for their guy. Doesn't seem like a heck of a lot to me. -

Mike Glennon Signing a 2-Year Deal with the Cardinals
billykay replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps you are right - he is nothing to get excited over. However, remember the Steeler playoff game. In the face of a good pass rush, he made plays , was confident, and except for a team members fumble, would have won the playoff game as a decided underdog. The kid just looks like a winner to me. We shall see. -

He was a very good college QB. When he got to start with the Bengals, he played well. I prefer to move up a little & get our QB, but McCarron will be a fine QB for someone. -
They may have more cap room but they do not have more draft capital than us. In fact, imo, next to Cleveland, we may have the most draft capital.

Relax 3rd, it was funny.

Does Move Up Plan include Big Free Agents
billykay replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In listing our draft choices left after moving up, you forgot that we will have a 1st, the one that we traded up for. -
He is no Michael Vick, but he isn't a statue either. Re his arm strength; it seems to be pretty average & good enough. How he digests the WR routes vs the defenses that will be thrown at him, is the real question. He can get away with an average arm if he is quick to read what's in front of him. Because of the Offense he played in, it is difficult to answer that question.

Two QBs: Joe Fergeson & Jim Kelly. Both had good arms. Both were accurate passers. Both were good in the pocket. Neither was very mobile. One turned out to be decent but average. The other has a gold jacket. IMO, Darnold & Mayfield remind me of Kelly. Rosen, a nice QB with all the measurables, just doesn't. If we don't sign Cousins, unlikely, I am all for using our draft capital to trade up. We will wind up with two 2s and a #1, the pick that we trade up for. I'm just not sure that the trade up should be for Rosen.

I admit that I have only seen Rudolph play once & I have also seen video hi lites. I know that the hi lites aren't the best way to evaluate a QB, but one can easily see that Rudolph definitely does not have a week arm. Is he Elway? No. But his arm looks adequate for the pro game.

I know they are just hi lite videos, but Rudolph may be better than some people think.

It was sarcasm, Rush
