  1. I would cut Edwards, the guy is always hurt. Jenkins is a better player than Edwards and is healthier. Bills have some money to spend why not put up some cash to help the run D and get a veteran player coming off of a super bowl victory. Edwards on paper is a decent player but if he can't stay on the field what's the point.
  2. LB is our biggest most glaring need. Tightend and RT comes in at a close second as both are pretty glaring needs on the offensive side of the ball.
  3. The more I think about it the more I see the Bills losing both Poz and Whitner. Although I think that Florence will resign. I think that Poz will go to the Giants as Fewell is their DC and they play a 4-3. The Giants also have a huge need at MLB and they have some cap room once they make some cuts. Florence seems to be in a over-saturated CB market and the Bills will likely give him a 2 year 4+ million dollar a year offer. Florence is barely a top 10 corner in this market that already features a lot of big names ahead of him. I hope Poz comes back but I just don't think the Bills offer a system he wants to play in. Bills should look to get two new middle LB's in the 3-4 and go after Cullen Jenkins.
  4. I hope the Bills can target a couple of solid free agent targets. Cullen Jenkins and Kevin Boss make a lot of sense for this team. Both fill needs and won't break the bank (Both will likely have deals in the 4-5 million dollar range). However its not likely they won't just try to sign their own free agents Poz and Florence and then try to extend the current contracts of Stevie, Kyle, and Levitre.
  5. Now this is likely going to change with seeing what they do in free agency. But assuming they do what I think they will do in free agency (Which isn't much outside of resigning Florence and Poz). But I see the division breaking down like this Pats* 11-5 (Still have an elite QB but a weak D) Jets 9-7 (They take a step back as they can't keep all their parts plus no pass rush on D) Bills 7-9 (Bills take a step up but still have trouble closing out some games) Dolphins 6-10 (Dolphins have huge QB issues and they don't have an elite D to compensate for it) Once again its all about what these teams do in free agency but just from how I see it shaking out.
  6. I think it would be better to have a proven talent like Jenkins anchor the position for a year or two while a guy like Carrington develops as a player who rotates in heavily. Also its always good to have depth. While Jenkins isn't a dramatic improvement over Edwards when Edwards is healthy He is an improvement who is much more reliable and healthy than Edwards.
  7. Maybe the Bills cut Edwards who is hurt all the time and is the same age as Jenkins. Cutting Edwards would free up some cap room and you could put that towards Jenkins who is a much more reliable player. Having a D-line of Dareus-Williams-Jenkins would immensely improve the run D providing that they get competent MLB's to back them up. Also Troup, Carrington, and Johnson would be a nice bench to mix in. Edwards is a decent player when healthy but why not go after a better more reliable player.
  8. Too much to lose on both sides, stay patient a deal will get done soon.
  9. Not a big loss really. He has gotten hurt the last two seasons fairly early in the season. He will also be giving them some cap relief as he makes over 5+ million.
  10. The reported cap number of 120ish million is true who should the Bills cut to get further under the cap. Reportedly the Bills have 35.9 million in cap space BUT that's not enough for the Bills to go out and spend on a big free agents. 35.9 sounds like a lot BUT resigning Poz and Florence will take up 8ish million, signing rookies takes up another 10ish million, and the Bills will likely want to lock up both Stevie and Kyle Williams to new deals which should take up another 8ish million in cap space. Also the Bills will have to sign a backup QB and fill out the roster which should take them to the floor. Now when taking that into consideration its easy for the Bills to meet the floor. BUT if they cut Kelsay, Spencer Johnson, and redo the deals of Maybin and Evans they could free up a lot more room to play with to sign better players. Why shouldn't the Bills look to cut players off of their current roster to add more cap room?
  11. The guy is 23 years old and only in his second year of playing a 3-4. I am not saying he could work out but its a little early to say that he could be out of the league. I think that its not looking good BUT if the guy is serious about football and being on the Bills the guy should restructure his deal to give the Bills more cap room and make his cap number smaller (Thus making it harder to cut a guy making less).
  12. Imagined if they cut Kelsay, Spencer Johnson, and Maybin that would free up another 14ish million in cap room. Granted they likely aren't going to cut Kelsay and will likely keep Maybin till camp. But I could see Spencer Johnson being cut as he makes 3.5 million and won't be missed. I also don't see them going on a spending spree to fill up to the cap floor either. If they resign Florence and Poz thats likely 8ish million in cap space taken up, rookies are likely going to take up 8-10 million, and they likely are going to try to lock up Kyle Williams and Stevie which is going to take up another 8-10 million. Now even if they cut some of the dead weight like Spencer Johnson its likely that they won't have this glut of space to go out and spend on a big name. Now it would be good to lock up Kyle and Stevie and keep Poz and Florence. But I don't see them going on a spree to meet the floor.
  13. I think that the Vikings will actually pick him up for a 4th and that would make a lot of sense. BUT the Bills should stay away Orton is a nice QB but is he going to do much more than Fitz, and the guy isn't going to want to take a backseat to Fitz and be the backup. The Bills need a backup QB which would come at a much cheaper price.
  14. Good team to target some defensive help from always been interested in Cooper as a backup to Poz. The guy is a decent player won't set the world on fire, BUT he has played the 3-4 forever (Which is good considering this team is only in its second season of using it) and for a backup you can't really expect a guy to be a probowler.
  15. I think that Kyle Williams who already makes 4+ million and is locked up for the next 2 seasons will see a nice bump in pay into the 8 million range and will tack on a few years to his deal. Stevie will also see a nice extension coming his way. Throw on resigning Poz and Florence and I think a lot of our cap room is going to go into keep our current free agents and locking in our current crop of players (As well as rookie contracts).
  16. Plus too the new Meadow-lands Stadium has a much more subdued fan base due to the fact that the seats are much more expensive (As well as the PSL's they had to pay for them). The old Giants stadium I saw a couple of Bills vs Jets games and the fans were rabid but not violent. They will trash talk but its not as crazy as Philly or anything like that. Saw a Giants game (Giants Jags) this year with a friend who had extra tickets from his girlfriends family (Wish he still dated that girl her family had good seats they didn't use half the time) and it was still a somewhat passionate fan base however it didn't quite have the bite as other Giants and Jets games I have seen there. Also Giants fans don't hate the bills the Bills have been irrelevant for so long no one besides the Fins, Jets, and Pats* really have any animosity towards the Bills.
  17. As much as I like to look at things optimistically but realistically with the Bills I doubt they will go on a spending spree in order to meet the floor. If they have to spend 25-35 million they won't have to sign 2-3 big names in order to meet that obligation. Now a good thing is they will likely resign Poz and Florence for about 8-10 million all together. They will likely try to lock in Stevie which should cost them an additional 4-5 million. Kyle Williams will likely see a new contract that will add 3-4 million to his current deal. Add in their rookie obligations which should add another 10 million or so. All that adds up to about 25+ million. They will likely cut Spencer Johnson and maybe redo Maybin's deal which should pad in another 5 million in cap room. Now that only leaves about 12+ million in cap room which will likely get spent making mid level depth additions like a backup QB and some LB's.
  18. The more and more I think about it and I see the rumored cap floor I think that the Bills won't sign a big name in order to meet the floor which they are rumored to be 36 million under. They will put in strong bids to resign Poz and Florence and that will take up 8+ million. Their rookies will likely cost them 8-10 million. They will likely want to resign Stevie which should cost them 6+ million. That only leaves them 10ish million under the cap which would likely be spent on a backup QB and other filling out the roster needs. I could also see them reworking Kyle Williams deal too which could cost them 4-5 million. Now the Bills have the option to cut a few players to save on the cap like Spencer Johnson (3 million), Chris Kelsay (5+ million), and Maybin (5+ million). So who knows but when running the number I feel like they will have a typical Bills free agency.
  19. 1- Kyle Williams 2- Levitre 3- Wood 4- Stevie 5- Freddie 6- Evans (More so based off of history) 7- Poz (More so a product of a weak roster) 8- Mcgee (Same as Poz) 9- Marcel Dareus 10- Byrd
  20. If the cap reports are true and teams will have to spend up to the cap no matter what and the Bills even after resigning Poz and Florence as well as filling out some of the rest of the roster (Backup QB and other cheaper roster spots) have 20+ million in raw cap room could maybe go after a couple of upper tier free agents as a way to spend that money. If they went out and got a stud RT or LT and got a front 7 player of worth I would be ecstatic. I think that the only way the Bills go out and do more than they usually do in free agency is if the cap is mandated to be spent in cash.
  21. I hope this isn't going to be in effect if the play is obvious. I think that its going to be up to the digression of the replay official. Which honestly if its that than it won't be the worst thing ever seeing as only once every couple of games does a controversial score happen.
  22. Maybin is still young and keep in mind this is only his second year in the 3-4. He played 4-3 in college and played 4-3 in his first year in the pros (He wasn't good in his rookie year but the guy was only 21 and smallish). I don't think Maybin will develop into anything BUT I am not completely writing him off yet. Give him a training camp and pre-season to show something. This team isn't exactly overflowing with talent at OLB so giving Maybin a shot isn't the worst idea ever. Maybin is just 23 years old there is still time.
  23. Poz is an above average NFL Linebacker when healthy. The problem has been health and coming back from injury. He comes back quick from injuries but his worst games seem to be the game or two after he returns from injury. I want Poz back on the team as long as the price is right. He plays well when healthy and hasn't been playing with the best D-line in front of him. Give him a better D-line and some luck with injuries and I think he can be a legit pro-bowler and at worst an above average player.
  24. Going to adjust expectations for after this free agent frenzy but based off of what we know. Week 1- @KC W (I just don't believe in KC this year I think they take a step back) Week 2- Oakland Raiders W (Oakland during the home opener I take that as a win) Week 3- New England Pats* L (I will believe we can beat NE* when we do it) Week 4- @ Bengals W(Not much a believer in Cincy Bills get the win) Week 5- Eagles L (Philly is just a better team) Week 6- @ NYG L (Giants once again just a better team) Week 7- BYE Week 8- Washington Redskins W (Bills come out hungry at home after bye) Week 9- New York Jets L (Jets to me seem like they a better team right now but this one could be an upset) Week 10- @ Dallas Cowboys L (Tough to win on the road Cowboys will be improved) Week 11- @ Dolphins L (Division game away Fins won't be good but won't be terrible) Week 12- @ New York Jets L (Better team on the road) Week 13- Titans W (Home game Bills snap losing streak) Week 14- @ Chargers L (Tough to win on the road in the NFL) Week 15- Miami W (Bills split series with Fins) Week 16- Denver Broncos W (Don't think Broncos are very good won't beat Bills on the road) Week 17- @ Pats* L (Once again just think Pats* are better right now) So I have them going 7-9 which is a 3 game improvement from last season. But they still go 1-5 in the division. Once again if this team does more in free agency than I think they will do it could go up but for now 7-9 is where I think they will finish. Its an improvement but its all about how they develop.
