  1. The Bills did invest a 2nd round pick to try and address the right tackle position they also resigned Groy, Mills and added Ducasse to address depth. Glenn, InCog, and Wood were all comfortably projected to be good to great starters, while Miller on the right side has been average or better than average. I don't know really what more reasonably the Bills could have done other than maybe sign a better player than Ducasse to build depth.
  2. Depends on how badly TO both wants to play and how much he might need the money (he has been reported to have finical issues.) I doubt some team signs him but there have been a high amount of WR injuries in the league and anything is possible.
  3. Sometimes it is better for a young player to just keep going out there and get baptized by fire. We have no one else to trot out there so the team might as well just keep giving him the snaps and hope he figures it out. It really does show the poor construction of the roster depth wise that they didn't find another quality receiver after Boldin left.
  4. Stevie seems to be washed up due to injuries. But honestly would he be any worse than the other JAGS on the roster? It couldn't hurt but I also don't expect any signings on the roster.
  5. He is a stout run defender and he is one pace to get 7-8 sacks on the season. That's pretty good for a player in his second year and coming off of a major injury. People don't seem to understand that players develop and progress as their careers go on. Shaq is on a good trajectory. Year 2 he is already playing like and above average player at his position. It stands to reason that as he gets further removed from injury it is possible he will get better. I think Lawson will be a 8-10 sacks per-season guy who powerfully sets the edge and stuffs the run. That's pretty good production for the 19th pick.
  6. The only thing I could think it could be is maybe they didn't want Dareus to over exert his injury by being in on passing downs too much. Dareus has been pretty solid out there when he gets in, it is just unfortunate that he isn't able to be a 3 down player because of injury.
  7. From my amateur eye Kyle has been pretty good overall. He still requires a double team to get him off the line and even sometimes a double team isn't overpowering him. He is a step removed from the dominant force he used to be but dam he can still play at a very high level at least that's what I see. I can't see him playing beyond 2017, I still think he is a good player but it seems like his play will decline if he continues to play. No reason to put your body through 1-2 more brutal NFL seasons to be an average or below average player.
  8. In 2006 the Pats* featured a receiving core led by Reche Caldwell (61 receptions 760 yards 4 TD's those numbers led the Pats in all 3 of those categories that year) and tightend Ben Watson (49 receptions 643 yards and 3 TD's.) Brady's numbers that year were 3529 yards, 24 TD's to 12 INT's with a 61.8 completion percentage. Certainly decent to good numbers but Brady was clearly negatively impacted by not having much offensive talent. The next off-season they acquired Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Donte Stallworth, Brady's numbers exploded and they nearly won every game despite the fact that the defense got worse compared to the year before. Overall you can't put it all on the QB. Even Tom Brady got highly impacted by the talent around him. It's because he isn't catching the ball despite getting open enough to get a decent amount of targets. It's baptism by fire for this kid, he is just going to have to go out there and do it. He can only go up from here in all honesty, sometimes its best for a struggling young player to know that he isn't going to get benched. The Yankees had to call up Jeter back in 1996 after an injury to their starting shortstop. He struggled a bit at first but because they had no one else to turn to they just kept trotting Jeter out there. Jeter settled down and the rest is history. Not saying Zay is going to be a HOF player but for a struggling young player sometimes it is best just to play through the struggles.
  9. Zay ideally should have been a slot receiver with a true number 1 and another decent veteran on the roster. But they made the move with Sammy and Matthews the player they brought in to alleviate Sammy's absence got hurt. Zay is going to have to grow up quick. Hopefully a bye week clears his head and he settles down. Zay is getting open he just needs to haul the ball in. He will get the snaps and the chances its just up to him to deliver.
  10. As bad as Tyrod was on Sunday I think most QB's would be struggling with the talent around him. You top WR and Tight end are hurt and both units had little depth to start the season. Your 2nd round pick WR is struggling and there just isn't a lot of skill position talent outside of Shady. The O-line isn't as bad as a lot of people complain but it isn't an elite unit esp in pass protection. Very few QB's even good QB's would thrive with the talent Tyrod has around him. To me Tyrod's play is much more an indictment of the teams lack of depth at the skill positions.
  11. There are plenty of decent free agent running backs out there. Hell couldn't they claim Jonathan Williams off of Denver's PS if they wanted to? They should make a play for Barnidge to help out at tight end and then look for help at WR either via trade (maybe if a decent player is available for a mid round or late pick) or via free agency. Running back depth seems like an easier fix.
  12. I do think that the brilliance of Tommy Wiseau's avant garde master piece should be critical to any NFL teams success.
  13. Dareus and Glenn are pretty much untradeable this season. Teams don't like to take on injured players let alone injured players on big contracts. I think you could trade Dareus during the off-season if you so choose since he still plays at an effective level when out there and he has a high ceiling. Glenn might be tradeable too but not until the off-season when the team that possibly trades for him can use the off-season to get him on their regime and onto their system.
  14. I like this move, it motivates Dareus without putting him on the spot completely (He has an excuse with the injury.) I think McD plays whoever is playing the best. Let Dareus know that he needs to produce in order to get the snaps. It also lets Thornton know that if he produces he gets the snaps. I expect Dareus to be a backup snaps count wise in Cincy but if he can't get it in gear after a bye week and back to back weeks of limited snaps then I think Dareus isn't longed for this team.
  15. Trust the process.
  16. He wasn't on a team last year nor was he on a roster at any point this year. His last season in 2015 wasn't very impressive. Seems like he just retired outright instead of taking a lower end deal to continue his career.
  17. I don't think the Bills want to give up a valuable pick to take on a receiver with a high salary. I think the coaching staff and front office value flexibility in their future. Less premium picks and less cap space for a player who might not fit the system or have chemistry with the QB is a bit of a risk. I think if a quality vet receiver on a more modest deal could be had for a 4th or 5th round pick or less then I think you could actually see them make a move.
  18. Not a bad move, makes sense since the player knows the offense. I still wouldn't be shocked if they make a trade for a receiver if a talented one could be had at a good price. But at least they get another body in there.
  19. And even if Matthews was healthy you could still use an upgrade at the receiver position. It's not like you are waiting on Julio Jones to come back from injury, Matthews is a nice player but he isn't going to completely jump start the passing game on his own. I think you have to see what your options are via trade.
  20. I hope that they do explore options on a trade for a veteran receiver. They don't need to go crazy trading a high round pick for a high impact player, but I think it sends a good message and it helps the team out if they bring in a decent vet receiver for a mid to late round pick. I think the Giants are a logical trade partner. They have a lot of talent at the receiver position and are 0-4. Maybe they are willing to part with Brandon Marshall for a 4th or 5th round pick. That's the kind of trade I would be targeting.
  21. I would see if the Giants would give up Brandon Marshall for a late round pick. Marshall isn't a world beater anymore but he is still a highly effective player who would be a upgrade over what the team currently has. Maybe a 5th or 6th round pick could get him away from the 0-4 Giants.
  22. It wouldn't surprise me to see if they were feeling out the market for him. Young player coming off a quiet rookie year from a previous regime is someone you might want to dump while you can still get something for him. But I think that given the age of the front seven in general and the fact that Washington has been pretty decent and I would rather try to see what he can become over having a 5th round pick. The team needs to hold onto their young front 7 players.
  23. The entire secondary has been money.
  24. No idea why J-Will is not on the roster. I get the special teams angle but he filled the role of primary backup to Shady very well.
  25. You can't get too crazy, season is only 25% in the books. Also the Jordan Matthews and possibly EJ Gaines injuries are also a cause for concern, both key players. But right now 3-1 having won 2 games that the Bills weren't supposed to win (One being on the road) is cause for some optimism. Cincy on the road is a big test as I think they are better than their record indicates and any game on the road ain't easy. If the Bills can beat Cincy and go to 4-1 with a bye week to get some injured players up and rested then I think this team has a chance to be for real. Let's see how this team responds to getting some of their own hype.
